We completed the classic 5-day Inca Trail Trek, with Ian Taylor Trekking, on 10/31/25. The experience was truly incredible. From start to finish, every detail of the trek had been well thought out. Months before our trek we had great communication for the Ian Taylor team, ensuring a smooth process and that we were knowledgeable and understood the preparation needed to embark on a trek like this. Our group really appreciated the thoughtfully created 5-day itinerary. It meant we had 5 a.m. wakes-ups (instead of 2 a.m.) and that we were back at camp before dark. Our guide, Edson, made the experience for our group of four, ranging from ages 48 to 79! Edson's knowledge, kindness, and patience made the trip extra special- we felt very supported and well taken care of. His passion for the Inca culture and his knowledge of the trail really brought the trek to life. He was very attentive to our needs and did a great job leading the pace and encouraging the group on the steep climbs. The food on the trek was beyond anything one would expect. The chef and his team poured their hearts into creating meals that were not only delicious but also a work of art! Additionally, our group was impressed by Ian Taylor Trekking's commitment to the well-being of their porters. Our porter's seemed to carry lighter loads compared to some of the other groups. I trust the Ian Taylor team and would not hesitate to book another adventure, lead by this incredible team, again!

My first trek with Ian was with my dad & brother on Kilimanjaro, last summer. Could not have been better, which is why my dad and I decided to book another trip this year (Cayambe/Chimborazo). Every detail of this trek was executed with meticulous detail, so much so that it was hard figuring out how they do this with such consistency. The secret (or my best guess)? Their team has 20+ years of experience, and are constantly iterating to one up themselves. This expertise is not only in logistics, but also in mountaineering. I've been climbing mountains in Colorado for years, and Ian has taken my love for mountaineering to new heights (pun intended). After seeing the level of safety and attention to detail put into the technical aspects of these climbs, I am not going to do any other big treks with anyone else (looking at you, Aconcagua...) Thank you, Ian & Laura for living with intentionality and for putting in the work to give me experiences that I will never forget.

Our entire team made it to the summit — a testament to the planning and support we received. We saw other groups struggling with inadequate equipment or poor guidance, but our team, led by Amani and his assistant Moses, were fully prepared, properly equipped, and nothing short of fabulous. This was my second trip with Ian Taylor Trekking, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. If you want to summit Kilimanjaro safely and successfully, this is the company to go with. One of the most memorable parts of the trip was visiting a local orphanage supported by Ian Taylor Trekking. I've been lucky enough to go on two trips with Ian Taylor Trekking - to Machu Picchu in Peru and to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. Before each trip, I felt well-prepared thanks to their detailed guidance on training, packing and knowing what to expect with the well written dossier. Once on the ground, every detail was taken care of - from comfortable airport transfers and hotels to transport for the treks, meals, and coordination of transport our gear. They truly think of everything! What makes it even more special is that Ian Taylor Trekking is a small business run by Ian and Laura, who clearly pour their passion into every part of the experience. When I was much younger I attempted to climb Kilimanjaro. I did not have the proper gear or preparation and vomiting from altitude resulted in my not summiting. I always thought about trying again, this time with my 22 yr old son. An acquaintance recommended ITT. Ian and his wife Laura both spoke with us and answered all of our questions. They supplied us with a wealth of information including training, logistics, and gear/packing. From the moment we arrived in Tanzania everything was arranged. We were picked up at the airport and driven to our beautiful hotel. The next day they arranged for us to go on a coffee tour with a hike to a waterfall. That night we had a meeting with the guides to prepare us for the hike. I cant say enough good things about the hike. The tents were very roomy as we had 2 people in each 4 person tent. The food was so good we ended up not eating the snacks we brought. It was impressive to cook 3 hot meals a day on the mountain. At night they gave us hot water bottles to put in our sleeping bags to keep us warm. I really miss being spoiled by waking us up with "tent coffee" that we drank while still warm in our sleeping bags before we started the day. The guides were what got me to the summit. On my previous attempt only 40% of us reached the summit as compared to 100% of our ITT group. The head guide of our trip, Amani, was very professional and looked after every detail while Roland stuck with me on the final summit night hike encouraging me and helping me with my gear when the altitude threatened to take me out again. It was very emotional to say goodbye to the amazing group of guides, cooks, and porters that made my successful redemption hike possible.
