Great service and prices. I was buying my salt from Amazon and one of my orders never shipped but I was charged. I needed salt ASAP and called Huemann. They deliver, drop outside (my choice) and they are $5/bag cheaper than Amazon. NEVER buying from Amazon again

I relied on what these people told me about Kinetico water softener systems 2 years ago and have had nothing but problems, expensive service calls and equipment breakdowns. I am on well water and prefilter it down to 5 microns (Huemann recommended 50 microns which would foul in about a day)and it still fouls the mechanism that runs the system. The internals are far too small to pass even 5 micron, dissolved solids. It makes one wonder what it was designed for. All wells have dissolved solids! The idea is great, the design sucks. Not at all practical
This system is not good for well water and the manufacturer does not stand behind it nor do they answer technical questions. Lots of money for this boat anchor of a system. Do yourself a favor, go to Costco or somewhere and buy a much less expensive and more reliable "cheap" system.
Just like an Audi is elegantly engineered, it won't cross the dessert but a cheap Jeep will. Total crap and disgusted.

Well water conditions vary from home to home. We have visited your home and communicated with you. There is excessive sand or sediment in your well water, which creates challenges for any brand of water softener. All water softeners, even Kinetico, are designed to handle well water effectively when the right pretreatment is used. Heavy sand often requires a spin-down filter or a proper sediment solution to protect the softener valve—this is a standard practice across the entire industry.
It's important to note that dissolved solids do not “foul” a softener valve, but physical sand and sediment can cause wear if not managed properly. When sediment loads are high, filtration strategies may need adjustments over time.

In dealing with my water issues, I had a company come out (let’s call them “C”) who took a quick glance at my water softener unit, told me I needed a new one & quoted me an astronomical price. Thankfully, I was then led to Joe Huemann, who came out and actually did all kinds of tests and explained in great detail what was going on. He proceeded to quote me LESS THAN HALF what “C” quoted me. When his employees came out to replace the unit, they were prompt, very friendly , and extremely knowledgeable. They took the time to explain and even labeled my pipes. I’m super impressed and grateful to this company. I would definitely recommend Huemann for your water supply needs!!!

Matt S. did a phenomenal job of explaining how our system works, performed the appropriate maintenance, and parted with value added suggestions. If you live in Lake or McHenry county, I would highly recommend calling Huemann (pronounced Hee-man) first. These folks have been in business since forever and Matt really knows his trade. Call this company for the first and only service provider required for a water softener system (Kinetico in our case). Reasonable pricing but outstanding service. Can't always expect the Ferrari for Fiat pricing, quality is paramount!

Huemann just got a new customer for life. We moved into a house with well water that smelled so bad it was stomach-turning. Brad came out for a free estimate and gave us honest, solid advice. Two days later Steve provided us with the most excellent service and a new whole house carbon filter that completely removed the awful sulfur smell and taste from our water. We were drinking water from the faucet that night!! I thought I’d never drink the water here, but now it’s great! Taking a shower and brushing teeth was a revolting experience until Heumann fixed everything for us. Thank you SO MUCH!!! Don’t hesitate to hire this company for your well water issues. They don’t upsell, they’re friendly, honest and use quality products.

Submitted query .... but must not have been READ! Requested info on a cartridge to remove iron from outside water going to a small greenhouse. Answered they'd come to my house and do a full evaluation of our water needs! Very disappointing mis-reading of my query. Not "Huermann -like"
I can't say enough good things about the folks from Heumann. Autumn in the office helped me turn the water softener bypass off over the phone when I had a waterfall happening in my well closet. Andy came out the next day and help remove the old system that was ancient. Andy walked me through what the next steps were. He clearly explained everything to me. Jacob and Adam came out after they ordered parts and fixed up my water softener and pipes. They were very clear about homeowners maintenance moving forward. They worked with a very old system and made it so much better by securing all the parts to the wall in the closet and lowering the height of the turn-offs so we could reach them more safely. All costs were communicated ahead of time. These guys had to work in small, unlit, cramped space and they did it without complaint. They cleaned up the space when they were done working and gave us suggestions for some future improvements. Very honest, kind, hard-working crew. I would recommend Heumann over and over again!
