Fantastic ciabatta sandwich. Fresh, flavoursome and at a great price. Service was superb.
Lovely big, warm and cosy beer garden, great service, cosy inside bar. Food was great too! First time being here but definitely coming again … dog friendly too so always a plus
What a shame the food could and should have been better at the prices being charged £22 for Sunday roast beef ! We had Sunday lunch for 5 adults. Two of us had beef. One was nice the other was not so nice, full of gristle and hard to chew. Two of us had vegetarian butternut squash wellington . This was okay but not that special. One of us had lamb which was very nice, but far too much of it ( save some money, it’s not necessary to serve that much meat). The roast potatoes for all of us seemed and tasted like they had been baked several times ( not freshly baked). Our 3 year old grandchild had a ham sandwich with chips. The ham was on the side of the plate the bread was focaccia ( dipping bread) and the chips were served in a wire basket ( this was not the way to serve food for a 3 year old ).
All in all disappointing and not worth the money. Shame as the pub is lovely, our waitress was too.
Lovely Sunday roast. There was a nice warm atmosphere inside. Looking forward the garden space outside in a few months.
Huge shout-out to Harry at Hove Place – he utterly sorted us out.
The roast was perfect. The beef was cooked exactly to our preferred tenderness and came with loads of gravy.
Before he even left the table, Harry had already sorted all the sauces, so there was no faffing about or waiting once the food arrived, which is a real pet peeve of mine.
Finished off with a beautiful pint of Harvey’s too.
Proper job all round – will definitely be back.

I come here often for Sunday roast with my boyfriend, and we’re quite picky about meat- they do it very well. And the plates come fresh and rapid!
The atmosphere is incredibly cozy in winter, and in summer the garden is my favourite spot in town for proper food and a relaxed afternoon.
The staff are consistently high-standard, but today the highlight was Harry: smooth, sharp, and genuinely attentive without being intrusive.
Hove place is always a great choice.
Lovely pub. Suitable for indoor and outdoor areas. Food is delicious. Cheeses are yummy. Staff are very friendly. We enjoy visiting frequently. Would recommend.
A little way from the sea front, but a lovely pub restaurant, downstairs. Felt like a different world. Food was OK, service was excellent. Would go again.
