Mikumi National Park Safari with Mapunda & Arstides
We had Mapunda as our guide and Arstides as our driver. They were a great partnership. Arstides could get us everywhere even some of the roads which looked completely impassible due to recent rains. Some of the driving was so impressive and we all enjoyed getting bounced around in the back. If they tell you to hang on they mean it. Mapunda had a story or a fact about every animal and was knowledgeable about the park. He was engaging and answered all our questions. They met us with a warm welcome right off the plane and got us situated in the jeep clearly explaining the park and the plan for the day. There were no promises made around what we might see or not see but these guys will do absolutely everything in their power to get you a glimpse off all the animals. We had an incredible lion encounter with the whole pride, apparently this is quite rare but it was magical. Then later in the day a blessing from the elephants who walked right past us including a tiny baby elephant which was just adorable trying to copy the older elephants. We had such a great time the park was full of life. It is rainy season April-May so it is quieter with tourists but that might have been a blessing. Only 10-15 jeeps driving around and apparently in busy peak season there can be up to 100. With it being rainy season some of the park was inaccessible as roads had been damaged & a bridge had been washed away but it was interesting to see the damage that the water can cause and Arstides was enjoying the challenge of getting our jeep through the flooded/damaged roads that were still just about passable. Trop contents d'avoir vu tous ces animaux. Seul regret, ne pas avoir vu le lion mais ça faisait partie du jeu. On a quand même vu la femelle et ses petits. A recommander en Jeep ouverte pour une découverte maximale. Mapumba le guide francophone et Ali le chauffeur ont été au top. Repas sympa mais attention aux singes voleurs 🐵🐵

Amazing safari in Mikumi National Park
We went on a day trip to Mikumi National Park and the experience was absolutely fantastic. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife: elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and many more – only the lion remained unseen this time. The nature and scenery were stunning and the overall atmosphere was exactly what you hope for on a safari. Special mention to our guide Benson Charles Nyachiwa, who was outstanding: knowledgeable, calm and clearly passionate about his work. The guide had great insight into the park and the animals, which made the trip even more interesting. All in all, an unforgettable experience and highly recommended for anyone visiting Tanzania!

Everything was good,but I wish I could have seen Lion Moses they did they best. It was amazing
Journée inoubliable
Magnifique journée passée en compagnie de Moise et Fidele. Ils ont tout fait pour que l'on puisse voir un maximum d'animaux. Des éléphants se sont approchés à moins de 2 mètres du 4x4. Girafes, gazelles, zèbres, gnous à profusion. Mais aussi des hippopotames, des singes et des crocodiles. Et cerise sur le gateau; un lion en pleine sieste. Les 4x4 sont confortables et le repas du midi est très bon.

Great trip, so many animals and beautiful nature. Yohana is great guide, great driver, knows a lot about animals. Would definitely recommend.

Johana is an excellent guide, carrying not only about our safety as tourists, but also explaining to us details of the animal life in Mikumi, and how the personnel of the park is supporting the animals without interfering in the environment. Definitely one of the experiences worth having in this life!

Seriously, we had an amazing safari day! Our guide, Omar, was super kind and professional, explaining everything. I also have to mention Aristide, the best driver I've ever seen! He tried to get us as close as possible for the best views of the animals. We were so close to the elephants, it was unbelievable! You guys have to try this, they're amazing. I totally recommend it.
