We recently farewelled my dad a few weeks ago and we are so grateful to Mr Ross Pokere and the Heaven Funeral Home team for their compassion, professionalism and support during our difficult time. Ross is an amazing guy to talk to. So kind, caring from the start, not only here in Australia but also organised for dad's body to be shipped to NZ everything was perfect. Services exceeds customer expectations
We engaged Heaven Funeral Care following my Mum’s passing. Mr. Richard, the funeral director, together with his wife Li Li and their dedicated team, provided us with exceptional care and support during this difficult time.
A few days before the wake, Richard’s team gently and respectfully took Mum into their care. During this period, Richard and Li Li visited us to guide us through the funeral arrangements with great patience and understanding. Every detail, from the wake service to the church service and burial was carefully discussed-always taking our wishes into account. Richard’s calm and reassuring presence, together with Li Li’s kindness and warmth, made us feel truly supported, as though they were part of our family.
On the day of the wake, Li Li and the team arrived early and worked efficiently to prepare our home. They rearranged the furniture, cleaned thoroughly, and created a peaceful and respectful setting with white floral arrangements and backdrops. When the casket arrived later that day, Li Li personally attended to Mum. Despite her illness, she ensured Mum looked peaceful and natural, as if she was gently resting.
Initially, the casket was placed at a height that made viewing difficult. When we shared our concern, Li Li immediately went out of her way to find a more suitable stand. She returned promptly, and the casket was adjusted to a lower level, allowing family and friends to pay their respects more comfortably. This thoughtful gesture truly reflected her attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile.
Throughout the wake, Li Li and her team managed everything with quiet efficiency. Guests were warmly received, guided to sign the condolence book, and offered refreshments without delay. Meals were served promptly, and everything ran smoothly. At the end of the evening, the team worked swiftly and seamlessly to tidy up, ensuring everything was in order.
The following day’s service was carried out with the same level of care and co-ordination. We were especially impressed by the team’s unity, efficiency, and attention to detail. At the church service, Li Li ensured that family members were guided respectfully, and hymn books were distributed smoothly. Richard ensured the proceedings moved along calmly and without delay, including the journey to the cemetery.
At the cemetery, Richard and his team continued to provide hands-on support. Each guest was thoughtfully given a rose and a handful of soil to place into the casket, allowing for a meaningful and personal farewell. Every step of the process, from beginning to end, was handled with care, dignity, and grace.
To Richard, Li Li, and the team, we extend our deepest gratitude for your professionalism, sincerity, and tireless efforts. Thanks to you, Mum was given a beautiful and dignified farewell—reflective of the grace she carried in life and no less than she deserved.
