Had a few sessions with Matt last year and it’s made a massive difference both to my appearance and my confidence. I even texted him a progress photo last week just to show how good it looks! If you’re considering SMP I’d say just go for it, you won’t be disappointed with Head Ink.

Matt really helped restore my confidence due to some hair loss. I'd been to other practitioners before, but none had Matt's patience, attention to detail and professionalism. What struck me initially is how consultative he is in his approach, really wanting to help you get the result you want. I just wish I'd come across Matt on day one. Can't recommend him highly enough. He's the guy to have in your corner if you're experiencing hair loss and want to try SMP.

Matt is an absolute legend and simply amazing at what he does. I had unsightly scarring at the back of my head from a hair transplant done in 2017 which restricted me having my hair short and knocking my confidence . After researching online in found Head Ink. Matt was superb from first consultation to final session. He explained everything about SMP, talked me through what he was doing during the procedure and gave me all the information I needed for the aftercare. His eye for detail is incredible and he is a perfectionist in what he does. I highly recommend Head Ink!!!!

My advice…Take the plunge and do it.
I’m so glad I found Head Ink SMP, and really, I’m annoyed that I didn’t do it earlier.
Previously I’d looked into a hair transplant and also looked into a hair system (or a toupee for those that don’t know). Yes, both of these treatments would have given me “hair”, however, I’d already spent a decade embracing the bald look, and wasn’t really looking for something that I needed to maintain. Ultimately for me, I wanted to frame my face. I was put off by the transplant, 1) because of the cost 2) because it doesn’t always take 3) I heard most end up having to get another done or have some form of other work to maintain it, no thanks.
I then came across SMP (Scalp Micro Pigmentation) I’d looked at many companies offering this treatment and finally came across Head Ink. The ability to give me a permanent buzz cut, with little maintenance and at an absolute fraction of the cost of a transplant and a similar cost to a hair system, ultimately made it a no brainer for me.
Still dubious to take the plunge I took their offer up of a free consultation, having looked at their work and after having a really good chat with Matt, their lead technician, I was convinced this was the way to go… and I’m so glad I did.
I was concerned with the way I’d look one day and then after treatment, but that was soon quashed, as during the 4 step process the work that was completed through each phase eased my new “hair” in gently, all the while Matt consulting with me on my journey.
What surprised me was the technical aspect and the range of styles to choose from, I was very aware that I did not want a chiseled straight hairline, that would look too young for my age, but I was relaxed when Matt assured me that a natural hairline was the way to go.
The studio where the work was completed was awesome, comfortable, clean and relaxing. I found there is little to no pain. Mildly uncomfortable i’d say.
He was able to match my existing hair colour and hair pattern (obviously taken from the sides and back of the head) and expertly merged them together.
I now am sporting a buzz cut, that I maintain every few days with clippers (as I was doing anyway) and loving it. Not only am I looking younger than before, but sporting a new confidence.
