Exceptional day on the Road to Hana!
We've done many tours in our travels and this is at the top of the list. Doug and his staff are extremely knowledgeable locals who shared incredible details about Hawaiian history and culture. We felt like VIPs with access to unique locations, incredible views and plenty of time to enjoy each stop. It's all the little details that made this one of our best days on Maui. We visited Maui and had the concierge at our hotel set up tours. Glad they set us up with this company. We were picked up from our hotel on time. The vehicle was comfortable and the group was small. Brandon and Jenelle were wonderful guides. Lots of history. Sometimes overwhelming but great historical information. We were able to visit many places that truly would have been a hassle for us to coordinate. The stops were in places we loved and we did not feel rushed. A light breakfast of the most delicious banana bread was served. Lunch consisted of fresh fish, brown rice and sweet potato macaroni salad (which was yummy). Windy roads made me car sickAnd they had ginger melts and wonderful motion sickness wrist bands that truly helped calm my stomach. Book this experience. It was wonderful!

I was Blessed to be a part of a Hawaiian Style Tour that took us through many areas of Maui including the Central Maui, Kula, Ulupalakua, Kahikinui, Hana, and Keanae. It was an amazing backside of the Island experience. I appreciated our friendly and welcoming Tour Guide Branden. He truly understands the meaning of Aloha...His informative and warm interpetation of Maui shared many aspects of the island that reminded me why I Love Maui so much, and what makes this place uniquely special. We did the road to Hana Brandon was our driver he was the best driver careful and courteous to our needs. He was very knowledgeable about Hawaii and Hāna. The banana bread given in the morning was delicious also was the lunch we had the fish and chicken.

Road to hana tour
Our first ever trip to Maui and we decided to take the road to Hana tour. Doug and Brandon were our guides and they were incredible! Aside from the amazing views and unforgettable stops our trip with these guys and the thing we learned will last a lifetime. We truly felt like family! It was nice to sit back and relax while Doug navigated the roads safely and professionally all while sharing stories and hospitality with us! I love these guys and look forward to meeting with them again sometime!!

A day chock full of aloha and adventure
This tour was a great way to spend our first day in Maui. Every stop was interesting and came with beautiful views and unique excursions. Brandon was an excellent guide--knowledgable, experienced and full of aloha. The food was great. We had fun getting to know the others in our group and seeing how people from all over the world can bond over a shared adventure. Be prepared for a long day and changes in weather--you need to be flexible and go with the flow. We had some unexpected curve balls that Brandon navigated masterfully. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our time with Doug owner/operator. He was a wealth of information and history of the Island. He was a very confident and great driver on the road to Hana.Our highlight was the black sand beach and seeing the sea turtles up close.He served us a great Hawaiian Lunch and it was a great small group we were apart of. Very Good Road to Hana Tour
We've been Maui about 10 times. This was the first time we did the Road to Hana. I was trying to decide if I wanted to download an app with directions and drive us, or if I wanted to go with a local tour. I decided to avoid the stress of driving and missing the sights and the potential technical glitches of using my own cell phone or iPad while on the road. Boy am I glad I did. Parts of the road are quite dangerous and rough. There are sections where cell service is not available and there are 'hidden gems' that only a local driver would know about. We chose Hawaiian Style Tours over others for several reasons. The main reason was that they did something different than all of the rest of the tour companies. They did the Road to Hana in a counter-clockwise, circular direction. All of the other tour companies were going to Hana then turning around and returning via the same route. Doing a counter-clockwise circle allowed Hawaiian Style to include the 'Up Country' in the tour. We saw the various ranches and small towns in Up Country. This direction also took us to the back side of Haleakala, which was quite beautiful. Another bonus was that we stopped at Doug's (the owner of Hawaiian Style) parent's home. They showed us a real imu (under ground oven) used to make Kalua Pig. We saw banana plants and bamboo up close. They also had some good snacks and smoothies available for purchase. Our Driver, Brandon, narrated the entire trip. He was a good driver and gave us a lot of information about the local area and culture. One of my favorite sights was the sea turtles. We estimated about 90 of them sunning on the beach. We traveled in a Mercedes Sprinter Van with large windows. It held 14 people, but they don't fill it completely so you can move around and be comfortable. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Ka'anapali. The tour took about 10.5 hours, from pickup to drop-off. There are several stops where restrooms are available. Pay attention to the recommended list of things to bring. I recommend Hawaiian Style for your Road to Hana Tour.
The tour is very informative, and very scenic. Our tour guide was Brandon. The bus was clean and tidy. It was great to hear the history of the island. As feedback, it would be nice to have some quiet moments during our tour and take in the scenery or have a break In between stories as it can get a-lot of information dumped on us on our tour. I do wish we had more stops to the local places as well the further out of the island as the local stores looked interesting to shop. My family overall had a wonderful experience.
As a tip for future tourist: The back seats do have a “wheel seat” on both ends, so if you want leg room would not recommend to sit there if possible
We went with Hawaiian Style Tours for the road to Hana tour and it was the highlight of our trip! So many amazing stops and our driver Brandon was incredibly knowledgeable! There’s so much that is best learned from and enjoyed with people who grew up in Hawaii, & this tour gives you that. Initially, my partner wanted to do the drive himself but we would have missed out on SO MUCH and he wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the experience and the views nearly as much as if he were driving. Road to Hana with this company is SO WORTH IT! Thanks Brandon for making it such a fun and welcoming experience!
