Harry, we believe it is important that the full circumstances of this service call are represented accurately. First, the system was purchased and installed by our company on December 14, 2022, not two years ago as stated in this review. We have the original installation invoice documenting the date. The equipment carries a manufacturer parts warranty; however, the labor warranty provided with the original installation expired after the first year. You contacted us over the weekend because the system was not cooling, and we spent time assisting with troubleshooting over the phone before an on-site visit was determined necessary. We then made arrangements to travel from Midland to Big Spring to diagnose the system. Upon arrival, we diagnosed a failed dual capacitor. Because the capacitor was covered under the manufacturer’s parts warranty, you were not being charged $500 for a capacitor. After replacing the capacitor and restoring operation, the system began experiencing high head pressure. Further diagnosis found the outdoor condenser coil heavily impacted with dirt and debris. We cleaned the condenser coil, checked refrigerant pressures, checked indoor supply and return temperatures, and verified proper system operation before completing the call. The invoice you received included our commercial service/diagnostic charge, travel from Midland to Big Spring, labor/service performed, and warranty-part processing/exchange fee. The approximately $500 total represented the complete service call and not the price of a capacitor. After receiving the invoice, you immediately posted this one-star review portraying the entire charge as “$500 to replace capacitor.” When you expressed that you did not agree with our charges, we offered to return and remove our replacement part rather than force you to pay for a repair you were unhappy with. We returned, removed the replacement capacitor, and reinstalled your original part. Despite the time spent troubleshooting over the weekend, traveling to Big Spring, diagnosing the failure, cleaning the condenser, checking the complete system, and making the additional trip, we ultimately agreed to accept $200 toward our time and travel. We are a small, locally owned company, and we absolutely respect a customer’s right to question pricing or choose another contractor. What we cannot agree with is representing a complete commercial HVAC service call as though we simply charged $500 for a capacitor. We stand behind our work, our pricing, and the service we provided. We wish you the best and consider this matter resolved.
