I took a bag in to have a piece of Velcro sewed in it. $25 I thought was a little high but I really wanted it so I paid it. I was sent there by an alteration place who said they had the right machine to do it. They GLUED in the Velcro, they didn't sew it in. He told he he was going to sew it in. I am using to hold something fairly heavy I suspect it won't last a week
I bought a handmade leather purse in Canada. I took it to the shop asked for reinforcement for the raw leather holes at the straps. The purse is beautiful silver grommet’s were placed I would highly recommend this shop for everything needing done with leather.

Thank you very much for your business
I'm a little sad to review with only a star. The shop was highly recommended for Birkenstock repair. I dropped two pairs for what I assumed was full bottom replacement- footbed, cork, and rubber bottom. It is my fault for not double checking that. I paid ahead of time- and the cost was similar to what I’d paid at another shop for full bottom replacement.
My pair- only the rubber was replaced. As my cork was only slightly worn I was only slightly startled. My daughter's pair, however, were in rough shape. Rubber worn- cork missing- footbed cracked and raised. I was shocked that hers came back with footbed still cracked- and the cork filled with some kind of resin- only rubber replaced. Unfortunately- due to the resin- the Birks are now unwearable- the cork is now hard- and the crack and lump in footbed have no give. (The cork molds to the foot- this will not).
I emailed- and got a response that he didn't understand my text (I was upset when I emailed) and to call the next day at noon. I called at noon- no answer. I emailed again. No answer.
Today we drove to Bloomington and had another shop look at them. That shop was SHOCKED at the shoes- agreed unwearable in current state. They could not believe what I’d paid for only the bottom to be replaced- and befuddled by resin added to the cork.
My fault- I should have clarified what the service would be- but I also didn't expect to leave with shoes that cannot be worn. The photos are AFTER THEY WERE "fixed".
Spoke with Nick about adding some height to a sandal - ref having a leg length discrepancy. He is very confident in his ability to deliver a great product. Dropped sandal off and it was done a day and a half later. The sandal is PERFECT, looks great, and I stand evenly which feels great. I am very pleased with his customer service and craftsmanship.
Thanks again
These boots were worn for 2 years straight, withstanding the Arizona desert heat and sand. I’ve put tons of miles on them and worked them day and night. The leather was dried out and I had holes in both boots at the seams. I’ve built a bond with these boots and I was upset with the idea of buying of new pair and trashing these, however I came across Hakky and thought I’d give them a shot.
I couldn’t be happier with the results. I walked in and the owner was upfront and straightforward. He was no salesmen, just an honest worker who enjoys his craft. I showed him my boots and he explained to me the fixes and process, and gave me the price. Which was less than half of what I bought these boots for. He had them finished in no time, and I’ve never been more impressed with the results. They literally feel and look brand new. I plan on bringing these boots back in years to come to get them repaired. 5 stars all around, price, quality, speed, commitment, and love for the craft!
After I got them repaired, my father saw me wearing them. And asked me why I went and bought a new pair of boots. And he was shocked when I told him that they were the same pair that I had worn before. That should say something.
