We've been here a few times and sincerely, the service is always the best in the business. They will seat you and serve you from the moment you sit all the way past the moment you already paid your check. You can't go wrong with any order (everything is absolutely delicious) and though the tab will be a bit pricey by the end, you will be happy, satisfied, fed beyond belief and you'll want to come back.
My only complaint is the fact that this wonderful place sits SO MANY, but only has one woman's bathroom and one man's bathroom (one stall each) and that could get a little crazy. Outside of that, whether it's drinks, eats or so many meats... you are going to love this place.
Ambiance wise, it's nice and quiet and there are open booths and private booths. You can't go wrong either way.
Staff, absolutely wonderful.
Location, easy to get to and easy to find.
Price, well... that's up to the individual. But if you're going to go here, it means you just got paid and you're ready to lay out about $400 for 5 or 6 people. You will be satisfied, that I can promise you.
Would I return? Absolutely. I have many time and I most certainly will again. Gyu Kaku rocks!
Love this place for drinks and a bite. I’ve been coming here for the past five years, and the service is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly, the food is great, and the atmosphere never disappoints. Whether you’re stopping by for happy hour at the bar or sitting down for a full meal, you’ll have a great experience.
Special shout-out to Kevin(bartender) and Ethan—over four years of genuine smiles and top-notch service. Bring your friends and family and feel confident you’ll be treated well every time.
We came in for a friend’s birthday tonight, and had a WONDERFUL experience with our server David!!! He took great care of us!!! Always checking in on our drinks and food orders, letting us know when it was happy hour! We got fast and attentive service, and he gave our friend a wonderful birthday! If you come in, ask for David!!! He was awesome!
I love Asian BBQ be it Japanese or Korean, so what better way to enjoy Christmas dinner? I made a reservation, but we arrived an hour early. Even though the restaurant was packed for Christmas, we were seated in 5 minutes. I loved that they had a set menu for the holidays, and we ordered from it. We enjoyed Fried Rice, Chicken, Salad, Shrimp, and 4 or 5 different types of steak for a fixed price. The staff was so nice and friendly the manager who sat us even remembered my name when we left.
It was my first time here and I had a great dinner with my family. It was a large group of us and I thought everything was handled very well. Due to our group size they requested that we preorder with a list to save time which helped a lot. The server reviewed each family list items and afterwards everything came out timely. The server explained how long each meat should cook and with their instructions everything came out pretty good. They also frequently changed the grill so nothing burned. Overall we had a nice time and I felt that the wait staff was on top of things which made the dining service enjoyable.
So we came in today to have Korean BBQ, and let me tell you—the food was amazing. I would definitely go back for the food, but honestly, I’d choose a different location next time.
If you’re handicapped or have any kind of mobility issues, this is not the spot for you. There are a lot of stairs, and the level where you eat has no restrooms. So if you do decide to go, make sure you use the bathroom before heading upstairs.
Another thing I didn’t love was the service. I’m not sure if the guy was a bartender or something else, but when he brought the drink to the table, it was like he was just passing by—set it down, said the name, and kept walking. No eye contact, no welcome, nothing. It just felt off.
Again, the food itself was great, but overall I’d try another location before coming back to this one.
Gyu-Kaku went down hill big time. Meat was not tender, some were sliced so thin by the time it was cooked most of it was stuck on the grill. All the meat was marinated in the same sweet sauce. The chicken pasta that came with our set menu was gross, chicken was like jerky and pasta was overcooked. Service was decent and friendly. Felt so bad taking my son here for his birthday as he was expecting good quality marbled beef which I promised him. No doubt the worst japanese bbq in flushing. Spend your money elsewhere.
