Highly recommend GPS! George worked for me as the customer. He was not influenced in any way by dealerships or other sellers. He provided a timely service. I used GPS over the course of a month and George looked at multiple cars for me and when they were no good, he told me straight up and explained in detail, why. When they were good, he was just as honest and detailed. I had trust in George. He was also very reasonable in how he managed my payments. Not that I needed convincing, but even the seller of the car that I ultimately bought, said that he’d never seen a mechanic inspector as thorough as George! I’ll be passing on who I call “my mate George’s” details onto anyone I know who is looking for a used car!
Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough, I had George come out as soon as the seller was ready. It’s amazing that they work around the clock at any times and still present quality work. the small little details or little imperfections in the car that they manage to pick up is Incredible. I have used GPS inspections three times now and every single time I am incredibly satisfied with the money I spent it is no more than any other company so I don’t know why you wouldn’t come here.
I booked a pre-purchase inspection based on glowing Google reviews, but my experience was incredibly disappointing — and has made me question the authenticity of those reviews.
The inspection wasn’t completed within the advertised 24 hours, but the real issue was the lack of follow-through. George called two days after booking to discuss the car's condition, but despite repeated follow-ups and promises, I never received the written report.
Delays were accompanied by unprofessional excuses like suffering from heatstroke or being stranded on the highway. Regardless of the truth behind these claims, the poor communication and failure to deliver the report were unacceptable. In a fast-moving used car market, delays like this can cost buyers time, money, and opportunities — exactly what I was trying to avoid by hiring a professional!
To make matters worse, I was repeatedly asked if I still planned to buy the car — almost as if trying to talk me out of it. I paid for a full inspection and expected a proper report to inform my decision, not vague comments and pressure.
I've requested a full refund, but given the current behaviour, I’m not hopeful. I've also lodged a formal complaint with Fair Trading in an effort to recover my money.
I cannot recommend this service and strongly advise others to look elsewhere. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Poor experience
Paid for an inspection online, didn't receive a confirmation email to say payment had been received. Called the following day to be told the mechanics were all sick for the week and I would be receiving a refund. Days later still no refund, despite calling an emailing without response. Dispute lodged with bank to have charge reversed.
Do NOT order. Order placed, no call with me or seller of car, car got sold, I used their form for a refund and haven't received any correspondence at all. Charge back with credit card has been issued

Im sorry this has happened to you. We will investigate what has happened here. If you had of just called base and spoke to them. Im sure this could have been resolved swiftly and with out the need for emails and forms and bad mouthing GPS..This is way out of character for the Team. Again truly sorry this has hapened to you...
You pay George not just because he’s a great guy and a great mechanic, it’s also because he takes your side when it matters and when it’s needed.
I saw a fantastic looking Toyota CHR at North Wollongong and it was priced fairly, and I got a GPS AWD vehicle inspections to check before purchase. Since I’m in sydney and the vehicle is in Wollongong, I did not see the vehicle and trusted the dealer. George and his mechanic inspected the vehicle (terribly sorry I can’t remember his name because it’s been a few days since the inspection happened) and surprise! The vehicle was not even the one they advertised. It’s a different colour and terrible in condition. It has been sitting in terrible bird poop for ages that the acid ate into the metal. George immediately called me to inform the situation and even took my side to confront the dodgy dealer while I was on the call. He guided me on what to do next and how to get my deposit back. This man is a rare find. You get his expertise, experience and most importantly, his loyal service which is very hard to find these days. I am pretty sure the mechanic has a great role in this too, as he had to coordinate the visit to Wollongong with George and made a clear assessment of the vehicle and that saved me.

Given the amount of dodgy people out there, I have to say i was sceptical. But after placing an enquiry of Friday for a light truck inspection in Melbourne (I'm in Brisbane), I got a call back within the hour, job booked in Monday after was completed before 2pm. I had a call from the guy doing the call before he went to give me the heads up and he called again after the inspection to give the high-level feedback so i could make a decision, with the report to come.
Seriously, impressive and sets a standard few could follow.

The emailed report was thorough with lots of photos.
His inspection gave us the confidence we needed to travel to the car and ultimately make an offer which was accepted.
George was wonderful to deal with, the phone call was like talking to a trusted friend. Feed back for the seller was positive also.
I would recommend GPS to any prospective buyers.
Unfortunately, our experience with GPS Inspection was disappointing. We were told the pre-purchase inspection would be done within 24 hours, but it actually took four days. During that time, we had to chase them up with multiple phone calls just to get any updates. In the end, we never received the written inspection report, so we have no way of knowing if a proper inspection was actually carried out. All we got was a single phone call. Overall, we expected much better service and communication, especially given the importance of a pre-purchase inspection.
We booked the service because of the positive reviews, now I can’t understand from where the good reviews are coming from.
