Pricey yes but amazing. Elegant but not pretentious, ability to read minds, always delivering something tasty and a little bit unexpected. food was wonderful- flavorful, delicious, complex, but not precious. Service was equally wonderful. Superb. We did not have allergy restrictions but they graciously changed out cauliflower because dining partner dislikes it. I think you can't go wrong here.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Gabriel Kreuther and had an amazing experience. Unlike what you might expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant, we left feeling full and happy. They even surprised us with a complimentary cake and handmade chocolates for our anniversary. Highly recommend!

Was good not amazing to warrant the cost , for that needs to be more than an off broadway show

Our belated Valentine’s dinner at Gabriel Kreuther was exceptional from start to finish. Brian, our server, was knowledgeable, attentive, and engaging, making the evening feel both refined and personal. The head sommelier recommended a complex, beautifully structured 15-year-old Roussanne that paired with remarkable precision and elevated every course. An elegant, memorable experience we won’t soon forget.

The incredible staff deserve a third star for the incredible evening they curated seamlessly for my wife & I. As hospitality professionals ourselves, we always love to see team operate on a different level & this group is a well run machine with invisible systems, unreasonable hospitality & the perfect level of comfortable mixed with professional. I've had, in my lifetime, maybe 4 "memorable meals" & this is one more. It's a shame we live 2 hours away up north, however we will be using our experience as a benchmark of excellence to strive for when we train our own team back home at Lone Wolf in Kingston, NY. Hats off to the entire FOH & BOH teams. I hope management read this aloud & shares with you why your role matters.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this Anton.

To be recognized by fellow hospitality professionals, especially in the way you described, is one of the highest compliments we could receive. Creating seamless, thoughtful experiences is exactly what we strive for, and knowing the evening felt both “invisible” and intentional tells us our team delivered in the way we hope to, every single night.

To be counted among your lifetime “memorable meals” is an honor we don’t take lightly. Even if you’re two hours north in Kingston, we hope this won’t be the last time we get to welcome you. And if we ever find ourselves near Lone Wolf, we’ll be sure to stop in and experience the benchmark you’re building there.

I tremendously enjoyed the 4-course menu at Gabriel Kreuther, and couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. Other than the sheer excellence of the food - the team went above and beyond to make this a special night for us. I would go as far as saying this was the best meal I’ve had in the city. I’ve been to a quantity of Michelin star restaurants across the world, and I can say this truly earned its stars. I’m a tough critic and I can’t say the same for a lot of the other NYC Michelin restaurants - which have generally been a disappointment in comparison to those in Europe.

Our team puts a great deal of care into both the cuisine and the overall experience, so it means a lot to know that the service and the 4-course menu helped make your night memorable. We’re especially grateful for your kind words as a self-described tough critic!

Outstanding evening at Gabriel Kreuther. Last night, my wife and I dined at Gabriel Kreuther, and it’s one of those rare restaurants where—while you’re still seated, mid-course—you find yourself planning your return. (We actually said, “We have to bring the kids here.”) We chose the tasting menu, and from the very first course, it was clear how much thought and intention went into each dish. Every plate was a success—beautifully composed, flavorful, and creative. Each course flowed naturally into the next, making the tasting feel cohesive rather than just a collection of highlights. The beverage pairings were equally well executed. Each drink was thoughtfully selected to elevate the dish it accompanied, adding nuance and balance without stealing the spotlight. Together, the food and pairings felt precise, measured, and complete. Service is where the evening truly stood out. At this level, hospitality must be a seamless team effort, guided by calm leadership and real awareness of the room. Angie, our captain for the evening, embodied that role perfectly—warm, attentive, and always a step ahead. Zanetta, one of the managers, worked tirelessly throughout the night to ensure every detail was handled with care. Mission accomplished. The dining room itself deserves praise. The interior design, lighting, and seating are all beautifully considered, and the view into the open kitchen adds an extra layer of energy to the experience. The large, inviting bar is a destination on its own—we arrived early and enjoyed a drink there before being seated, and it set the tone for the evening perfectly. An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Revisited recently and not much has changed, although I’m not quite sure I would rank GK as high as Frevo, although it is definitely better than Per Se. We solved the bad wine pour problem by buying a bottle. The set of mini appetizers before had some delicious oysters but questionable corn fritters and - steak tartare? - which a lot of people don’t eat (including myself). The problem with these prix fixe places (with the notable exception of Frevo) is the main dish is always underwhelming - which was true here - there were only three small slices of duck which were served much too cold. And the bass was fresh but the sauce nothing to write home about. This was more than made up for by the enormous and exceptionally good piece of seared foie gras. Funny that the portion of foie gras is as big as the duck breast! The first two items, a panna cotta and a mushroom tart, were incredible - creative, interesting, delicious, and showed a high level of culinary caring. The desserts were also excellent, the Mont Blanc in particular. They also solved their cappuccino problem as this go around it was excellent. Special shout out to the absolutely impeccable service, the absolute best. We have had such problems with sommeliers in particular but the one at GK was the best ever, describing the wines perfectly. Very underrated restaurant and one of the best in NYC, definitely in our top 5. Worth a visit and the splurge. Old review: Best meal - possibly ever - in all aspects. An artistic experience as well as culinary. So much creativity. The best were the lamb chops, best meat I’ve had in my life. The crudo was presented in three different ways. Photos capture the artistry. At a whole different level than the other restaurants the past year, even better than Daniel and Gage & Tollner. We got an several additional things to taste, a couple slices of Bonny melon sprinkled with some kind of seasoning the most interesting. Usually you get one or two of these at this kind of restaurant but there were four given to us right at the start. The cheese plate was amazing especially the way the waiter asked about our preferences before. The aged cheese was incredibly refined and the blue cheese was generous and went so well with the bread. The desserts were small but beautifully arrayed. There was enough delicious bread if you wanted to fill yourself up more but portions generally were not too bad. The service was amazing, the super-nice manager Michael really does an incredible job and our server knew everything about the dishes, the wine and cheese that we asked. Another recent visit was simply amazing, cannot say enough good things about this place, especially the food, which is fascinating, original and invariably delicious. This round all the dishes were extraordinary, the skate cheeks, the sea bass, the foie gras. Definitely better than Le Bernardin and really should have that third star. Only two disappointments - the wine pours were very stingy, only about 3 oz instead of the usual 6. But the real shock was the decaf cappuccino I ordered at the end which tasted like lukewarm dishwater had been poured onto a Sanka packet. It gave me an awful headache and a bad night sleep, but barely put a dent in a highly memorable evening.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and I have to say this was an exceptional time. The food, the design of the restaurant, the service, all absolutely wonderful and perfectly executed. We are fortunate enough to dine out at high end restaurants regularly and Gabriel Kreuther hits the mark. If you’re on the fence about going here do yourself a great favor and go, it’s worth it.

I write for culinary publications in New York City and have been fortunate enough to dine at most of the city's most famous high-end restaurants. Hands down, Gabriel Kreuther is my favorite French restaurant in NYC. The tasting menu is like a masterclass on Alsatian cuisine. Order it with the wine pairing, and I promise it will be one of the most epic culinary treats of your earthly tenure.

For those without life threatening food allergies, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The tasting menu was fantastic, and I have nothing but great things to say about the food and the service for a "normal" guest. However, for those with life threatening food allergies, I can not in good conscious recommend this restaurant. Even after coordinating with the establishment about food allergies over a month prior to the reservation, the waitstaff were completely uninformed of the fact that our party had a life threatening allergy. At least 3 different servers inquired about allergies at different points, which made it clear there was no communication between servers about allergens. After the 3rd allergy inquiry, the individual in our party who had the life threatening allergies felt extremely unsafe eating here, as if there was no communication between waitstaff, we couldn't be sure what was or wasn't communicated to the kitchen either. As the night went on, there were individuals in the waitstaff that did a great job verbally confirming that each dish either did not have allergens, or was altered to not include the allergen. However, about 2/3 of the wait staff did not make any mention of allergens when dishes were presented, which left the individual with allergies fearful to eat the dish when there were features of the dish that certainly looked like they may have contained the allergen (sauces that looked like they contained cream, seeds that resembled nuts, etc). It was extremely difficult, in these cases, to get the attention of the waitstaff to confirm a dish was allergen free. At one point a team of servers approached the table with what was clearly our food, and we observed them stop in their tracks when they spotted the individual with the allergen, and then turn around and return the food to the kitchen. We suspect that they realized, just in time, that they did not confirm or accommodate an allergen free dish. While we greatly appreciate that they remembered the allergen in time, it was a very scary experience that left us feeling like accommodating the allergen was a constant after thought that was barely being remembered. We understand that it's a pain for restaurants to accommodate allergens, however when we have previously communicated the allergen needs to the establishment and they have confirmed their willingness and ability to accommodate an allergen, it is on the onus of the restaurant to deliver a safe experience. We would rather be told that a restaurant simply can not accommodate an allergy than be told yes, and then have it be clear that the restaurant isn't taking the allergen seriously. All it takes is one mistake on the part of the restaurant for the evening to take a terrible turn, and it felt like we were constantly on the precipice of having that happen. In the past, when dining at other restaurants with tasting menus, the restaurant has presented us with an alternative menu for the individual with an allergen prior to the meal starting. This confirmed to us that they had received our prior communications about allergens, the kitchen was well aware of the allergens, and they were prepared to serve an allergen free meal. I think this establishment could benefit from a similar practice.
