I have 1 Gizmo stand alone alarm and 2 sensors and an alarm box. I added 1 of each to my updated tank storage system for used oil for heat. My 2 alarm sensors were used for 4+ years open to the rain & weather. Water intrusion damaged the internals, Peter walked me through finding the problem and getting the sensors repaired. Cost was very reasonable! Everything is now under cover. My GIZMO system has given me peace of mind when employees are transferring oils into my tanks! Thank you, Wayne Russell VP Russell Auto Inc. Manchester, NH since 1965 3 Generations!

The PFA-1 Power Fail Alarm is ruggedly built, reliable and loud. I have it on the basement freezer and it has alarmed each time there has been a power fail (the freezer is running on Bluetti battery and the Bluetti is plugged into the PFA-1). The internal 9V battery is rated to last 10 years. I have had this in operation on the freezer continuously for 5-1/2 years, still on the original 9V battery. It will re-alarm 30 minutes after it is silenced (this can be disabled), and it will detect if the device plug has become unplugged (this can be disabled). I have set the jumpers to alarm after 15 minutes of power fail to avoid nuisance alarms that last only a short time. I can easily hear the alarm sound in the house through the floor. It works great; exactly what I wanted. The price gets your attention but the loss of my freezer contents would be 5-10x the cost of the PFA-1 making it a cheap protection device to have installed.

This company makes a great self-contained liquid level sensor. Peter at Gizmo has been amazingly supportive, even late on a Friday. He guided me to all the options I'd need and coached me to the safest version of their product. They seem to have experience with unusual applications. A good small company feel with no hoops to jump through, just quick & helpful parts & service.

To all plumbers, and to those homeowners who are working on specialty projects with PVC Schedule 40 and 80 projects: Check out Gizmo Engineering. I came across these folks while working on a project involving IBC Totes, and I came across their breathers made for all various sizes. These are awesome! I purchased them to work with the special tops I purchased and the fit is great! Craftsmanship is great! They work perfectly! And talk about customer service! I made a mistake in measuring, contacted them when I received them and discovered the mistake. They gladly took them back. They helped me find the right size, and they sent me the right ones. The crew at Gizmo Engineering is awesome! They have more than just breathers. So check them out. Got an IBC project or other project where you need a breather? Go to Gizmo. Professional, Quality, and Customer Care! A+ 5*s. Thanks Gizmo for taking care of me and the great product!

Excellent use for basement subpumps This purchase began one morning waking up to a flooded basement floor, sup pumps pluged into a GFI receptacle that triped off durring the night. It works GREAT and with all the doors close to the mechanical room I can clearly hear the PFI from upstairs. Worthy of the cost.

Great product, service, delivery The manufacturer, Gizmo, is a model for providing customer service. This PFA was needed to alert us to power going off to oxygen concentrator, especially at night when sleeping. Life and death issue. Set-up was simple: call Lisa at number provided on literature. Inserting 9V battery was no brainer. I did need a louder alarm than 102 decibels because of the arrangement of our home, location of bedroom, doors closed, and 83-years of age. I spoke with Engineer Peter. He instructed to return unit, and for $20 he would change to alarm of 108 decibels. This was done, installed with higher decibel alarm, unit works perfectly. If anyone has questions, call Lisa or Peter. They provide prompt assistance.

A liberating aperatus... This is an easy to use device. Adjusting the cup circumference is as simple as turning the base while the clamps spiral in or out around the base of your cup, and then setting a thumb screw to hold it in place.I like that the variable speed is not pre-sets, but totally adjustable, which allows to stir slowly which is good to avoid bubbles, however, if you stir too slow, there is no agitation in the center of the pool and it will remain unmixed even though the outer pool is thoroughly mixed. Increaseing speed or possibly mixing a larger volume should fix this, or..., I'm thinking of cutting a section of one stick and hot gluing it to another to make an "L" shaped stir stick that would cover the full radius of the bottom of the container. doing this, one should be able to go very slow and thus get back to the agenda of fewer bubbles. The unit is sturdy and feels solid, like it is well built. The cord is stingy short, for the dollar spent on this specialized item, the cord should have an extra two or three feet -- some may view this as a plus if having a tight workspace with outlets nearby. The horizontal bar which holds the stir stick cannot be adjusted up or down, but the stir stick inserted into the slot can. Still, this is a limiter if wanting to use a 8oz cup or smaller and a popsicle stick -- you are stuck having to use the large stick as the small stick wont reach the bottom of the container - this is only an issue if doing small amounts. An excellent product I would buy again.

The set-up of the PFA can be confusing as the directions are not entirely clear. We live adjacent to conservancy, open space land in a fire-prone area. In the event of fire, especially overnight when sleeping, the power can be compromised by fire, utility companies, and/or public safety officials. The PFA, once properly set up, can be a lifesaver. If your use of the device is merely for alarm purposes (and you do not intend to plug anything into the 3-prong plug receptacle mounted on the exterior of the PFA) -- when you plug the device into a wall box, the PFA will flash red and the alarm will sound. After checking the battery, wall receptacle, and so forth -- the alarm continues to sound after several minutes, there is a simple fix not well explained in the directions that come with the unit. The simple fix is to remove the tiny red clip on the circuit board (inside the device and opposite the battery holder) which will bypass (and disable) the 3-prong plug receptacle mounted on the exterior of the PFA. You're then good to go. If questions, call Lisa at Gizmo and she will pleasantly walk you through the set-up of the PFA in less than 3 minutes: +1 (315) 225-5096

Works pretty freaking great. This is a fantastic mixer. I've bought two, one here and one elsewhere. Only three small gripes. The black plastic on the tightening knobs broke off. Wing screws would be better. A little fold down bar to prop the mixer at an angle to propagate mixing viscus materials would be a jazz. And, a dual potentiometer or a switch, where the spin could be reversed would be fantastic. Aside from that, mixing up to 800 grams of 7000 to 20000 cps high viscosity silicone is a breeze and my wrist thanks you so much, I might buy a third one!One last mention. Included wooden stir sticks? Why? One or two 3/32 or 1/8" thick stir sticks the same size would be fantastic, reusable, less flimsy and not bend in thicker viscosity material mixing.Five Stars because it freaking works great...

This device can be a life-saver. If someone is dependent on the operation of a piece of health equipment that requires 110v ac power such as breathing assistance at night, then plug that piece of medical equipment into this device and plug this device into the wall outlet. What better assurance can you have than the silence that indicates that all is well. If the power fails or if the medical equipment is disconnected, the alarm will sound which will wake you or someone nearby to come to your aid. It's a good and well-engineered product. And the internal jumpers give you some flexibility.

Oh boy...does it ever work!...yes!!-Oh boy...does it ever work!...yes!!- Ok, so you found the plug, now you say “dang, that’s crazy expensive...!”, and you’re right. Take a chance and you buy one because you’re tired of losing all your frozen food in the garage freezer cause the lightning storm last week knocked out your freezer and you did t know it until it smelled like roadkill in your garage. Package comes, you plug it in, and forget about it. Then one rainy afternoon, you hear a strange alarm sounding thing from your living room and say, “what the heck is that?!”...as you approach the garage, it’s gets louder and LOUDER...then all at once it hits you...”Holy smokes! It actually works, my freezer alarm is going off!”...this happens at least 4 times before the writing of this story and you then come to realize...yea, that dang plug alarm was really expensive but man, it’s already saved my freezer over 5 times! More than paying for the cost of replacing all the frozen goodies. The moral of the story is this thing is costly, but, after it saves all of your food time and time over, you’ll see your investment was made wisely. Buy it if you can relate to my story above!

Unmatched customer service: I needed a custom alarm for a compliance audit the next day. I didn't really expect any company to be able to come through but Gizmo said they could. The next morning the UPS driver brought the exact alarm I needed - as promised. Thanks!

Awesome While this product has a steep price tag, I have to say it works and it works well. I bought mine for a freezer and have had no issues. If the freezer comes unplugged from the box, it alarms. If the box comes unplugged from the wall, it alarms. What I really like is the volume of the alarm, we can hear it upstairs on the other end of the house. About six months in at time of this review, still works like a champ. Why did I pay the steep price? I never seemed to find another product that had all the featues this one does... loud and complains basically if anything comes unplugged or unpowered.

only slightly flawed This device is VERY able to arose someone who is relying on constant power to a CPAP or similar device. If you use a CPAP get one. You don't want to rebreath your own air which is what would happen if there was a power failure while you're asleep wearing one.Con: battery removal requires removing 4 screws! When the battery starts to get low, it chirps incessantly until the battery is removed. Which means this thing is chirping in your face for however long it takes to get the right screwdriver and remove the 4 screws. I know the company claims it's a safety feature, but a chirp every 30 seconds or minute wouldn't be as annoying as the way it is. I would give it a 5 star rating if they changed it.Edit: after the third time dealing with the battery problem I took my Dremel™ to it and installed a battery disconnect switch. Now I'm all smiles!Edit#2 This lousy thing started failing after 12 years. So I bought another one. (Not so lousy was it?) This first thing I did was install the same switch, upon testing it it was obviously defective. I had already modified thus voiding any warrantee, but you know me. I disassembled the unit (only lifted out the circuit board) to see if there was a problem with the wiring. The terminals were all placed correctly and the screws were tight.... then I noticed it! The soldering to the "Plug Detect" wire was quite messed up and likely why the unit would only ever remain in FAULT condition. Fortunately the makers included a jumper to by-pass the plug detection, so I removed that jumper and the unit works as expected (well not as expected, but well enough).QC is always a problem when making anything. It would obviously cost more to test each and every unit. So I don't expect perfection - ever. And I won't change the rating. But if they do have a procedure of testing every unit, then this unit should have failed.
