We were on a waitlist for 10 months, and the wait was well worth it! Our puppy is well mannered and calm, loves the outside, and is food motivated. We had to finish his medication when we took him home, but it was great that he was very healthy. The training videos and tips that they shared were super helpful! Loved that they grew up on a farm and surrounded by kids, would recommend to anyone looking for this bred!

Update: Jack is now 2.5 years old, and has under went some resent challenges. At 1 and a half, Jack was diagnosed with hypoplasia enamel. His canine teeth are now impaired resulting in yearly teeth cleanings requiring surgery, and most recently has to undergo a root canal. The more unfortunate diagnosis is hip dysplasia. Jack and our lives are largely impacted by this diagnosis. These are highly expensive and problematic diseases that no 2 year old dog should have to be challenged with. I update my review to say if I had to do it over again we would have not purchased this dog. However, we love our beautiful sweet boy and will spend massive amounts of money to ensure is quality of life continues to be the best available. Before the recent hip diagnosis, we considered getting a second pup from this breeder but no longer will be.
Just for reference, Jack eats a raw diet costing over $60 a week. He receives multiple supplements including omega 3 fatty acids, 3 joint supplements, pain medications, and specific teeth chews. We spend a minimum of $1,000 a year on dental cleaning and more for restorative work, labs, and vet bills. Jack has a more regimented exercise routine than either my husband or I do.
Perhaps Jack is the oddity, but I would hate to see another family impacted by either of these diseases. Jack is 55 pounds and considered a medium size dog.
As a first time dog owner to a doodle, it was important to me that we got a quality breeder. All the dames and sirs are available for you to interact with. The Facebook group for follow up doodle care is great. Jeremy and Marcela post updates throughout the puppies growth so you stay well informed. Additionally, Jeremy is very transparent about what do’s and don’ts with your new puppy offering an education day prior to taking the puppy home. All dogs come chipped and receive vaccines to keep them on track. After talking to multiple dog breeders during our process, I strongly recommend Bestland.
Besides the quality of the breeder, the dog’s genetics are important. Our dog has an excellent temperament, quick to learn and be trained, and loves everyone. His coat is soft, no shedding, and never mats with only a weekly brushing. The dogs have amazing eyes and eyelashes, and you will constantly be complimented on their looks. Jeremy raises the puppies around his family, so our dog immediately was accustomed to interacting with children. Will be a repeat customer if we decide to get another dog.

Our program has calculated that 2 percent of our dogs or less wind up developing a health condition. I am so sad that Jack has inherited or had one of these issues causing this development. We have an 8 year old that we got as a puppy and a 7 year old that we got as a retired mom from Bestland. They were great to work with and their dogs are very high quality. They both have great personalities and are very intelligent dogs. Bestland was great to work with and we will always go back to Bestland if we want to add another doodle to our family. We just added another 2 year old retired mom labradoodle from Bestland. This is our second retired mom. These retired dogs are a wonderful way to add to your family without having to do all of the puppy training. We wanted to add to our family but a puppy would have been difficult with our busy schedules. This was a great option for us. Jeremy was great in trying to find the right mom for us.

UPDATE: Our Bestland ALD is now almost 2 years old. I wrote the review below quite some time ago so just wanted to reiterate everything said before plus say how important it is to go with a reputable breeder like Jeremy and Marcella Best. At the time it seemed like a lot of money for a puppy but since I’ve watched so many people try to economize on the breeder price but then they spend WAY more on vet bills later. Our dog has had ZERO health problems—no ear infections, no allergies, nothing. He is an absolute joy.
Previous Review: Bestland ALD is the best possible breeder. Jeremy Best reviewed what we wanted in a family pet and recommended a puppy to meet those needs. He and Marcella are so knowledgeable about the breed and provide detailed owner training prior to picking up the puppy on everything from the right diet to crate training and more. They have been very responsive in answering questions we have had since bringing our puppy home.
Our little guy is without a doubt the best dog I’ve ever known and I’ve had quite a few dogs in my lifetime. He is so smart and with such a funny, sweet personality. He is great with people , other dogs , and children. He has a gorgeous black fleece coat and is very easy to train. He has been such a fun addition to our family! Thank you, Bestland!
