Finally got a chance to try this location after having a wonderful dinner at Yakiniku Futago Tsukiji in Tokyo. While the Tokyo location is a casual place this location is a little more upscale in its presentation and made me feel like I was back in Japan for a couple hours. Went for a weekend lunch, we got seated in one of the private rooms by the entrance. Really wonderful vibe, relaxing, quiet. Yuki was very attentive and helpful in guiding us through the menu, as well as teaching us about the history of the restaurant. She was an absolute delight to talk to and we look forward to seeing her again next time. She made the experience more enjoyable and we appreciate her taking the time to talk with us. Got the Premium Kalbi and Harami - both cuts were great. Garlic rice and Reimen were good additions, a great complete meal overall. Feel prices were good for the quality and servings. Walked away full and happy - already have plans to go back here again.

We had an amazing time at Yakiniku Fugato Soho. The food was incredible, and the staff were so kind and wonderful. They went above and beyond expectations. The dessert we had was the perfect blend of refreshing and sweet (the matcha tiramisu). The Japanese garden table was a peaceful setting in a busy city. Truly a wonderful place to have an anniversary dinner!

We areived at 5pm dinner reservation and arrived right on time. We were literally the first table there. 1. It took about 15 minutes before anyone even came to pour water. No one checked on us at all. When they finally came over, I looked at my phone — it was already 5:18pm. 2. The heating was NOT working properly. It’s been freezing in NYC these past few days, and the restaurant was seriously cold. I ended up wearing my coat for the second half of the meal. I told the server once that it was very cold, and he just turned up the grill fire — which didn’t help at all. It’s honestly the first time in my life that I’ve eaten BBQ and felt colder and colder as the meal went on. 3. The table was greasy and the floor was dirty. You could see leftover sauce drips from previous customers on the floor. 4. The chairs didn’t even have pads on the legs, so every time someone dragged a chair it made this horrible screeching noise. Super annoying and uncomfortable. 5. The food was very average. Of course taste is subjective, but NYC has plenty of good BBQ places. This is definitely not one of them. 6. The final dessert was a matcha shaved ice. In that freezing environment? Couldn’t even eat it. 7. The pacing between dishes was way too slow. Long gaps between courses. The timing was just off. And the server had the nerve to ask at the end, “How was everything?” Honestly? Not good. Definitely won’t be coming back. This place is off my list.

A fun little piece of Japan. They don't have tables larger than 6 (1 room) so if you're a bigger party, you'll talk to people across or around another table. They don't have a full bar, just sake/beer and the menu is slightly different too - more sushi/sashimi dishes and the Japanese BBQ items here are still good. Dragon kalbi and the 10-second waygu were excellent. Staff was super helpful and friendly. If you were in the mood for Japanese whiskey or cocktails, though, go to their bigger location in Chelsea. They also do the stamp for the tongs.

Excellent Yakiniku dining experience. The atmosphere was very zen and the space featured very cool Japanese aesthetic which I loved. Staff were the kindest and service was exceptional thanks to Edwin. I really enjoyed the pre-fixe menu offering and felt it was good amount of food for the 85$ pp price point (meat quality was very good) and the sushi was delicious as well. We had a very memorable experience and will most definitely be returning with friends again — Thank you !!

I had high expectations for this place but ended up disappointed. The portion sizes were very small for the price. The meat was good, but nothing particularly special. The servers didn’t help with cooking at all, unlike other upscale yakiniku places I’ve been to in Tokyo. Maybe that’s not common in the US? We also felt rushed during our meal since they had another reservation about 90 minutes after ours. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations, and I wouldn’t choose to dine here again.

Llegamos a este restaurante guiados por los comentarios de Google Map, y la experiencia en general fue muy agradable desde el primer momento. Al ingresar, nos encontramos con un ambiente marcadamente japonés, cálido y bien cuidado, que transmite tranquilidad y autenticidad, ideal para disfrutar la comida con calma. Desde el inicio fuimos atendidos por una señora realmente encantadora, muy atenta y cercana, que hizo que toda la experiencia fuera aún más especial. Su amabilidad, energía y buena disposición lograron que el momento fuera alegre y acogedor, algo que hoy en día se valora muchísimo. Pedimos varias entradas, las cuales se pueden apreciar en las fotos, bien presentadas y sabrosas. Luego llegó la sopa, que fue bastante contundente y reconfortante, con cortes de carne wagyu realmente deliciosos, suaves y llenos de sabor. La acompañamos con una salsa picante que elevó aún más el plato. A pesar de que la señora nos advirtió sobre su potencia, para mí no resultó tan picante, lo que incluso la sorprendió y motivó a que nos ofreciera un poco más, gesto que se agradece. El postre, a diferencia del resto, no fue lo que más nos gustó; lo sentí algo insípido y sin mucho carácter, aunque esto no opacó la experiencia general. En resumen, fue una visita muy agradable, con buena comida y un servicio excepcional. Las verdaderas estrellas del lugar, sin duda, la linda señora que nos atendió. Muchas gracias por una experiencia tan cálida.

👏🏻Excellent service, Edwin is arguably the most attentive and lovely server I’ve ever met in nyc! 👏🏻Fresh, flavorful mains! 😠Horrifying dessert- “gold rush” need to be removed from the menu, immediately! Shaved ice should has soft, snowy texture instead of that of shattered glass! I feel very strongly about this!
