Relaxation at its best We were very fortunate to have just spent 6 nights at the Finca Gran Cerros, during which time we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Firstly we must thank Shaun and Michael for our wonderful bucks fizz breakfast and lovely gift, it made our special day even better. And a huge thanks for changing the Saturday diner menu by special request, you made a special girl very happy! Shaun and Michael go above and beyond what you would expect from hosts and that is why we keep returning. They have created such a relaxing place to visit, either to unwind and relax or as a base for the many and varied interesting places to visit nearby. The accommodation and facilities are faultless, and attention to detail unsurpassed. But what makes it so good is the two lovely gents Shaun and Michael.

Complete relaxation in a stunning location. This was our third visit to this most wonderful place. Shaun and Michael are incredible hosts - welcoming and so kind. We stayed this time in the one bedroom casita Caminita del Ray. The views from the very private terrace are stunning and we spent many hours simply gazing at the incredible vista. We would wake up to such peace and quiet, watching the sky lighten as we had coffee. Shaun would arrive with another wonderful breakfast then days spent exploring Àlora, the lakes at El Chorro or simply reading and swimming. Then one of Michael’s wonderful dinners - three courses of top quality food beautifully presented and eaten in an incomparable setting. There are many different areas to the gardens - the outside kitchen with it’s honesty bar, the jacuzzi and lots of quiet spots to sit with a drink and soak up the beauty. All the interiors smell incredible from the candles and sprays made by our very talented hosts. Thank you Shaun and Michael for again allowing us to share your wonderful Finca, if only for a short time.

Something special As good as it gets , from initial communication from Sean and Michael even before you arrive was very reassuring. The guys have put in so much effort to create something really special here at Gran cerros. The accommodation is just sublime , we stayed in the el torcal room which was spotless with every detail taken care of even a pillow mist spray. The views throughout the property were everything we had hoped for with very comfy sun loungers and a spacious outside seating area. Even though we did not use the separate fully loaded honesty bar / kitchen area we thought it was a fabulous idea. Totally understand why they have so much repeat customers and would thoroughly recommend to everyone. We as a a couple are self admitting picky customers having stayed at many fabulous properties throughout the world and appreciate the constant dedication in trying to be the best at what you do and Sean and Michael just nail it. Great base for exploring too, Caminito del rey, el torcal national park with in easy driving distance. We loved visiting the buzzy city vibe of Malaga then coming back to such peace and quiet in the mountains. We were also blessed with fab weather and made use of the lovely pool on several occasions throughout our 5 nt stay. Will be back Rob and nix x

Finca Gran Cerros … An Amazing Place To Stay Finca Gran Cerros is an amazing place to stay. The rural location is exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. We stayed in the two bedroomed apartment which had excellent views across the countryside from both the rooms and from the lovely big balcony. It was very comfortable, with a well furnished kitchen area, a lovely sitting area, with tv and a separate dining area. Michael and Shaun are the best hosts you could wish for, they helped with places to visit and with advice on which roads to avoid ( sat nav took quickest route, not always safest). This is a very quiet location and a car is required. We took advantage of the evening meals on offer and the platters. They were served to us on the balcony and were absolutely gorgeous. This was my second visit and I have already booked again for next year. Think that says it all

Thanks too for the 5 star TripAdvisor review and kind words that Anne left as well; it's very much appreciated (we've since emailed over the banana bread recipe, as requested!).

It's such a shame that our rural location seems to have negatively impaced the overall experience of your stay, with a 4/5 - we always try to make the rural nature of the retreat clear, with the need to drive 12-15 minutes to the nearest full town of Alora, so apologies if it wasn't what you expected or hoped.

But we're delighted that you found the rooms and service to be 5/5!

It was really lovely meeting you both and we thoroughly enjoyed having you both here. It goes without saying that we'd love to welcome you back again sometime.

Get away from it all We stayed at Finca Gran Cerros on the recommendation of a friend . It was everything we could have wanted and more . Michael and Shaun are the perfect hosts.The evening meals and breakfast were restaurant standard and served on your own private terrace . Nothing was too much trouble, we were looked after very well indeed. The accommodation ( we stayed in the smaller of the three) was well designed and very comfortable . The terrace had the most beautiful views and was private. The shared areas are all very well maintained, the plants are beautiful and create a fabulous backdrop. The outside kitchen and honesty bar provided the perfect place for a nightcap with fellow guests. The pool was spotlessly clean and had the most comfortable loungers to relax on . Plenty to do in the local area but a car is essential . Finca Gran Cerros is a beautiful place to just relax and enjoy the peace and recharge . Thankyou Michael and Shaun for a wonderful week in the sun.

3 night October break We have no hesitation in recommending Finca Gran Cerros near Álora. We stayed for 3 nights and had a very relaxing time by the pool, enjoying the stunning views. Michael & Shaun are very welcoming and our apartment had everything you need for self catering short stay break. The breakfasts and evening meal were very good and I particularly enjoyed the banana bread.

Paradise in the mountains! If you’re looking for peace, tranquility and calm to recharge and reset then this is the place to visit. Stunning self catering B&B accommodation high up in the Andalusian mountains with astonishing views, clear air and the sounds of nature. Michael and Shaun are kind and generous hosts. This is our third stay at the Finca and each time the welcome is as warm as before. Orange juice, cookies and wine greeted us. Everywhere smells divine with their home made room scents, toiletries and diffusers. The Finca is a 15 minute drive to the town of Alora and the Lake District is about a 30 minute drive with incredible views and clear blue lakes. A different complimentary breakfast starts each day - always exciting to discover what you’re being brought. The mushroom crepes are something else! Evening meals are optional extras; however, once you’ve tasted Michael’s home cooking, going out to eat wasn’t an option. We enjoyed beautifully crafted and delicious evening meals. On Wednesdays and Sundays the offering is a platter of cheeses, meats and fruit. The pool is crystal clear and with a maximum of 8 guests there is always somewhere in their gorgeous garden to enjoy sunbathing or sit and enjoy the view. Lying by the pool, all you can hear are birds singing, goats’ bells (from over a mile away!) and the wind rustling leaves in the trees. The sunsets and associated colours on the mountains are magical, as is the night sky for star gazing as there is no light pollution. Rocky, Burt, Harold and Florence all come and say hello too. Rocky is Head of Security and woofs a welcome! What else to say? It’s paradise in the mountains! Until our next visit…..

Simply the best Finca Gran Cerros This is our third time and we love it. From the scenery to the care and attention to detail you feel spoilt from morning till night. The bath and body products supplied to the room fresheners everything is special. The menu in the evenings is varied and delicious and as for the breakfast served on our terrace, tea, coffee, juice and the sumptuous array of fresh and yummy delights to start your day with. Thank you Shaun, Michael and the paws, Rocky, Florence, Harold and Burt you make this special place feel so welcoming and inviting. Go and enjoy We have just returned from Another fabulous stay at Finca Gran Cerros. It’s such a wonderful location, ideal for exploring the many fascinating places within easy reach, or as we do, to chill and relax in the peace and quiet of breathtaking views. We ate in, and enjoyed the 3 course meals that Shaun and Michael cook and serve. Always top quality, tasty and exquisitely presented. We also used the b b q on Wednesday evening, a simple steak and salad. The accommodation is second to none, so clean and fresh. The toiletries provided are excellent to the extent we buy them and bring them home to use. What really remains with us, are the feelings calmness and tranquility that spread over us as soon as we arrived. We have already booked again and would urge anyone to do like wise and experience the special place that the two of them Have created

A little piece of paradise Wow , what can I say about Finca Gran Cerros that hasn’t been said already ? Michael and Shaun have crewed a little piece of paradise in the hills. The well furnished and comfortable apartments, the terraced area with well stocked honesty bar, the lovely pool with luxurious sun beds and spectacular views and the delicious breakfasts and evening meals served on our private balcony , the perfect way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we felt so relaxed and comfortable we can’t thank Michael and Shaun enough for welcoming us into their beautiful home. If you are considering coming here, book it, you won’t be disappointed.

Third time and still as brilliant as always. Ok. So I need to be honest up front here. This isn’t my first visit here, nor will it be my last as we have already rebooked for 2026, so I knew what we were getting. Great accommodation. Check. Fantastic food should you choose to eat in, both for breakfast and dinner. Check. Hosts that absolutely know their stuff and are quite possibly two of the nicest people you will meet. Check. Friendly welcome from Burt, Harold and Florence the cats and Rocky the dog. Check. What catches me out every single visit is the view and the peace. I thought I had gone deaf this morning, until I heard a dog bark over the other side of the valley. Silence and peace. A rare commodity these days. If you are after baccy, booze and bingo don’t waste your money! If you want an exceptional experience I suggest you get booking, because those of us in the know are already booked for 2026 and in some cases 2027….

Peace and quiet, total relaxation. The Finca was even better than it looked on tv. My husband and I had a wonderful time relaxing in this perfect location. The casita was very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. Our casita and the whole of the Finca was so clean. Michael and Shaun were the perfect hosts supplying lovely breakfasts and evening meals. Our platter on Sunday evening was fantastic. Something we don’t often have on our travels is comfortable sunbeds with thick cushions around the pool (also on our patio) which Shaun looks after really well. The Finca is also in the perfect position to go out and about to sightsee. We would love to return.

Wonderful Andalusian Oasis From booking to arrival communication was second to none. On actual arrival we received a lovely warm welcome making us feel relaxed immediately. We stayed in Caminito del Ray with its amazing views over the pool and mountains beyond. This being the smallest casita but is very well equipped and lacks absolutely nothing! Michael and Saun have really thought of everything with the added bonus of their fabulous home fragrance collection of candles and diffuser's and a whole lot more, everywhere has a spa like feel. It took a lot to tear ourselves away to explore the surrounding area but we did manage to visit Antiquera with its beautiful church’s and Alcazaba and also El Chorro lakes absolutely stunning. Both within 45 minutes drive. We also took advantage of Michael’s cooking, an absolute must, nothing is too much trouble for these guys! A sincere thank you to you both once again for providing such fantastic accommodation and hospitality and above all the perfect place to relax, rewind and reset!!!

August 2025 - the month we fell in love with Finca Gran Cerros Where do we start. From the moment we arrived we felt transported to another world. The views are breathtaking, the room was spotless and fantastic with every amenity you would need, the scents (candles, room sprays and reeds) make you feel like you are in a spa. We stayed for six nights and believe the price is worthy of the experience. We had a different breakfast served to us every morning - breakfast on the terrace was our favourite part of the day. The evening meal we ate at Finca Gran Cerros was nothing short of restaurant quality - incredible. We had a couple of days out and two evenings in the local town Alora where we enjoyed drinks and a meal. Unless you don’t want to venture anywhere, then hiring a car is a must in order to get around. Shaun and Michael provide guests with a truly special experience. We are annoyed we did not come sooner! But our first stay in August was the first of many. Finca Gran Cerros has a special place in our hearts ♥️

Peace, tranquillity and wonderful hosts What can I say that hasn't already been said by many, I think all the superlatives have been well and truly used! We have just returned from our second stay at Finca Gran Cerros, and once again we were not disappointed - the same peaceful location, the same perfect hosts, and the same fabulous food. I don't know how they do it, but Michael and Shaun manage to provide a five star service for all their guests, and this is literally our favourite place in the world to stay. From the moment we arrive when we are presented with a glass of wine or beer, all our stresses and strains of life simply disappear. We were extremely lucky to have some unseasonably hot weather for mid-September (30-32 deg every day) which made the stay even more enjoyable. Relaxing on El Torcal's terrace on the ridiculously comfortable sunbeds, or cooling off in the stunning pool, it was hard to tear ourselves away and head out to explore. However, explore we did, and managed some day trips out. I can thoroughly recommend visiting the following places which are within an hour away from the Finca; - Antequera - Ronda - Mijas Peublo - El Chorro Lakes (an absolute must is to include the breathtaking views from Mirador Tajo de la Encantada, where you can watch the majestic vultures soaring on the thermals). Back at the Finca, you will want for nothing. The guys have thought of everything, and you cannot miss Michael's fantastic cuisine - truly five-star food. Don't hesitate to book this place but hurry as it books-up quick, and we shall certainly be returning soon. Thank you again Michael and Shaun for making our stay really special ❤️

A Tranquil Paradise! A beautiful, tranquil retreat set in the countryside outside Alora, with stunning views of the valley below. Michael & Shaun are fantastic hosts. Friendly, helpful who go above and beyond to ensure that your stay with them is perfect. The property has been renovated to a high standard. The ‘casitas’ are well appointed, spotlessly clean and there is juice, water and a bottle of wine to welcome you on arrival along with homemade chocolate chip cookies - which are absolutely delicious. We couldn’t tear ourselves away from our beautiful, peaceful terrace overlooking their gorgeous pool so spent our days relaxing, reading and swimming. We ordered dinner every evening which was served on our private terrace and included a starter and dessert. Whilst M&S say they are not professional cooks, all the food and breakfasts (also served on our terrace) were wonderful and generous. They also have their own range of fantastic candles, diffusers, room scents, body creams and hand/shower gels, which are provided in the rooms. They are lovely to use and also means that the rooms smell amazing. All are available to buy if you want to take some home with you. The outdoor kitchen area with honesty bar is fantastic and they do not overcharge you for wines, beers and drinks. Highly recommend staying in this gorgeous place where you feel very special. We will definitely return there soon.
