I cannot say enough amazing things about my experience. Nicolas and his porter team bring care and passion to each aspect to their practice. His attention to detail is outstanding and anyone is lucky to taste his food. On the Inka Trail you will see so maybe amazing ruins and learn so many new things about Inkan culture. You will also see men being taken advantage of with huge packs and no safety precautions taken. Thankfully our crew had professional gear provided as well as a tour leader who cares for their wellbeing above all else. For instance, while other groups forced their workers to carry 40 pounds of water uphill just so tourists can take more comfortable bathrooms, our group had just a hearty snack at our midday trek instead. Truly Marco led the best experience I could expect, and he is a great advocate for all workers from all companies. He is a legend. I would be lucky to take this tour again. I also want to thank Enrique, sous chef on Nicolas' team, for taking the time to talk to me on the trail and getting to know more about each other. We hope that all workers get as good as advocates as Marco and as great of leaders as Nicolas. They make the difference.

It was such a great experience! Nicolas was an amazing chef who fueled us through 4 days of incredible views and hiking. Our porters did a wonderful job of setting up camp for us each night and taking extra steps to ensure we had what we needed. Evolution treks was extremely ethical in how it treats its porters with strict weight limits for what is brought and backpacks with straps to support their physical health (as they are doing a ton of work to allow us tourists to have this experience). This company also is inclusive of women porters/workers. All of these things are not always done by other companies. Marco, our guide, also did an excellent job explaining the ruins, history and ways of life we were experiencing along the way. Would highly recommend this company, especially if you are looking at ethical tourism!

Nicolás the chef was fantastic everyday was restaurant quality on the trail and never repeating any meals. Marco the guide was super knowledgeable of all the ruins and the trails we traveled on and made it a fun time for everyone in the group! He looked out for everyone in the group from the guests walking at different speeds to looking after the porters welfare. It was noticeable the difference in quality of the treatment for the porters between our group and others. Our porters had proper backpacks that weren’t over weighed down. He also had us have a quick lunch with sandwiches instead of setting up a full camp for lunch which would have forced the porters to carry water 20 minutes up the mountain 1 container at a time which all the other groups did. Our group actually preferred that since it was only an hour to the campsite and none of us wanted to go downhill with a full stomach. Overall this was such a great experience which I will be recommending to anyone that wants to do the hike to Machu Picchu. The pacing on the 4d/3N tour was fantastic while still being challenging but this company did exceptional!

Nicolas and his team were great... they used professional gear for all of their porters. The food was exceptional, well prepared and clean. All of the porters were very kind (especially since my Spanish is terrible), and they all used professional backpacks built to carry the loads necessary to feed everyone. We were well fed and taken care of the entire trip. Marco was our tour guide and he made sure to show us the all the sites without the crowds, and even helped out the porters by having us camp at a site where water was accessible every night. He explained to us lots of history you wouldn't get anywhere else, and provided exceptional service. I would highly recommend Nicolas' team and Marco as a guide for anyone who wants an authentic and rich experience on the Inca Trail while being well fed and conscious of the porters and their tremendous efforts.

We chose this company because I wanted a tour company that takes care of its employees. This company provided everything they promised, and I would say over delivered. We did the private short Inca trial tour. Our guide Jackie and our porter Daisy were amazinggg. The short trail allows you to hike the inka trail for one day, walk through the sun gate, and do two of the Machu Picchu circuits. The company arranged all of the permits and transports and one day aguas calientes so everything was seamless.

This was an amazing experience. They helped with everything. Seeing MP for the first time was amazing. I feel that without the help of our tour guide Jacqui, it wouldn’t have been as enjoyable. The short Inca trail is beautiful. I hike regularly and it wasn’t too difficult. The first couple of kms are a lot of stairs so be prepared. It then flattens out after lunch time. The views entering the sun gate are worth it. I don’t think the hike was that dangerous. Just as long as you are careful and go at a safe pace for yourself. The transportation and information are the best parts of the company. The simplicity of not having to buy and coordinate train tickets was super important. Jacqui was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. My Spanish isn’t the greatest but it was helpful to make sure nothing was lost in translation. Our porter Daisy was great. She made sure all of our stuff got to the hotel safety. Would recommend to everyone 10/10.

A truly incredible experience! Our guide Sara was exceptionally knowledgeable, funny, engaging, and made the entire trek for our group. The Porters all seemed happy and engaged. Compared to other companies we saw on the trail, Evolution definitely treated the porters more ethically by following weight restrictions for packs, providing frame packs for the porters, and employed the only female guides and porters we saw the entire trip. Would absolutely choose this company again!

We had an amazing time hiking the Inca Trail with Evolution Treks! Due to some last minute cancellations, we ended up with a private tour for the two of us. Our guide Jacqueline was very nice, extremely knowledgeable about Incan history, and always made sure we never felt rushed. She even woke up extra early the last day to save us a spot and make sure we were one of the first groups to get to Machu Picchu in the morning. We chose Evolution Treks because of their commitment to treating porters well and empowering women. They were the only company on the trail we saw who provided the porters with quality backpacks. The porters slept in tents (unlike some other companies). They also weighed their backpacks and ensured they were under 25kg (15kg for women). We saw other porters on the trail were carrying well over the legal limit at 35kg+. While Evolution Treks may be slightly more expensive than others, it is worth it to support a company that is ethical, follows the rules, and treats the staff well. Our head chef Cenovia and assistant chef Isaac were excellent. The food was plentiful and tasted amazing, and they made special gluten free bread for me. It was the best food we’ve had so far in Peru, it’s incredible they were able to make all of that on a camping stove! The rest of the porter team (Alejandro, Cecelio, Felipe, & Abelino) was also very friendly & helpful. My only recommendation is to send more of the information provided in the pre-trek presentation earlier, perhaps in a written communication ~1 week out. There was a lot of useful information, but to get it at 6pm the night before the trek made it difficult to act upon.

We had a great experience with Evolution Treks for our 4 day private Inca Trail hike. Our guide, Jacqueline, was amazing and incredibly accommodating to all of our requests throughout the hike. Everyone we interacted genuinely cared about our experience. They even went above and beyond to organize a surprise birthday celebration on the trail for someone in our party! The meals they served were fantastic—high-quality and made with delicious local ingredients. It also really stood out to us that the company appeared to be operating in a much more ethical way compared to others we saw on the trail. Highly recommend booking with Evolution for a responsible and unforgettable trek!

I recently completed the Inca Trail with and had an amazing experience. From the initial check-in and briefing to all the transfers, everything was smooth, organized, and informative. Our group had a fantastic experience, and a big part of that was our guide, Jacqueline. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and fun, and took great care of us — especially when some of us were struggling with the altitude. She even woke up at 2am to reserve our spot at the checkpoint so we could sleep an extra hour, which says a lot about her dedication. The porters were hardworking and kind, and the chef was outstanding — every meal was delicious. One of our group members had a birthday, and the chef surprised us with an impromptu cake and celebration, which made the experience even more memorable. What also stood out to me is how much this company cares for its staff. The owner used to be a porter himself, and it shows: lower weight limits, better gear, and opportunities for women guides and porters. It felt good supporting a company that genuinely values its team. Highly recommend Evolution Treks Peru to anyone planning the Inca Trail.

Choosing Evolution Treks Peru for the Inca Trail was hands-down the best decision we could have made. If you are debating which company to book with, look no further—they are operating on a completely different level of professionalism and ethics than everyone else on the trail. From the very beginning, their communication was flawless. When we arrived in Cusco, they provided an incredibly thorough, reassuring debrief that left us feeling completely prepared and confident for the days ahead. However, what truly sets Evolution Treks apart is their profound commitment to fairness, equity, and eco-responsibility. It is one thing to read about sustainability on a website, but it was incredibly moving to see it in action: - True Worker Equity: You can visibly see how much better this company treats its employees compared to others. While porters from other agencies were loaded down like crazy, Evolution’s porters carried strictly regulated, humanely balanced weight limits. They are provided with high-quality gear, and it’s clear they are treated with the dignity they deserve. - Empowering Women: We were incredibly proud to realize our group was the only team on the entire trail with female staff. Our guide, Jacqueline, and two of our porters, Daisy and Louisa, were absolute rockstars. Seeing a company actively break barriers and promote female roles in a historically male-dominated mountain environment is exactly why we wanted to support them. As for the trek itself, we felt in incredibly safe hands from start to finish. Jacqueline was attentive to our every need, highly knowledgeable, and deeply supportive when the altitude got tough. The porters were phenomenal—always right there exactly when we needed a hand, ensuring camp was perfectly set up and welcoming. They were pretty shy, but super cheering for us all the time - while i feel WE should have been cheering for them :-D Overall, trekking with them was an absolute pleasure. Evolution Treks Peru doesn't just offer a tour; they run a deeply ethical, eco-responsible business that directly supports the local community while providing a flawless guest experience. Do not hesitate to book them. 100000% recommended!

Our 4-day trek with our guide Sara was amazing. She was patient, kind, and knowledgeable and was excited to share this experience with our group. She communicated clearly the plan for each day, and always made sure to support each individual of our group based on our hiking experience and skill level. The porters were professional and friendly, and the hardest working people on the trail. The chef Fernando made sure that we were fueled up each day with delicious meals that included an unbelievable variety of options. We were never able to finish all of the food as a group, and it was the only way I could have managed the incredibly difficult trekking days. Although the trekking was physically demanding, there are plenty of breaks built in to accommodate you along the way. You can take a slow pace for the entirety of the hike, and comfortably finish each day. And the views and archaeological sites along the way are unmatched.

My partner and I had a fantastic experience with Evolution Treks on the 4 day Inca Trail Trek. Our guide Sara was extremely patient and informative, couldn’t recommend her enough! The porters were all amazing as well as the chef, Fernando. As a vegetarian they were very accommodating about my diet and the food was amazing, they feed you very well. The views are out of this world with the trail taking you through high Andes, cloud forest, and high Amazon with glacier views all around. Overall, taking the historic Inca Trail was a highlight of our Peru trip.

It is my greatest pleasure to be able to review Evolution Treks Peru. Some background: It was my first time in Peru and more importantly, my first time hiking the Inca Trail. Our group size was 6 people in total, 13 porters, 1 assistant chef, and 1 head chef. I was fortunate enough to have Marco as my tour guide during the trek. The option I took was the 4-day Inca Trail trek to Maccu Piccu. Marco as our tour guide was incredible to simply put. There were some points during our hike where I did not physically feel the best (due to altitude sickness) but Marco was so patient and encouraging, he kept me going. He kept everyone in our group at high spirits even when most of us at some points during our Trek needed an extra boost or support. I highly admire his natural curiosity and how knowledgeable he was throughout the whole trek, giving us great stories during lunch, on the trail, and of course in Maccu Piccu. I never felt pressured hiking with Marco (which was really important for me) and one of my favorite things about hiking with him is his ability to make the whole group laugh, even if you have less of an ounce of energy left in your body. Greatest tour guide hands down! Try to get him as your guide and you will not regret it, I promise. The porter team, lead by an amazing chef, Guillermo also gave us a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, tents were already ready for us to rest when we arrived at camp, and they had such a great, positive energy. I highly appreciate their great efforts and hard work making sure we were well taken care of. Most importantly, I was happy to see that each porter carried a reasonable amount of weight during the trek (unlike porters from other Trek companies who seemed to be carrying more than the recommended weight). I also was appreciative to see female porters on the porter team; to see the amount of care this company strives to make great changes in the Treking community (especially against outdated problems such as low female representation in porter teams, or heavier weights carried by porters in the past) is one of the reasons why I would recommend going to Evolutions Treks Peru. Marco and the porter team went above and beyond and it was because of their service and fostering a supportive environment throughout the course of 4-days, is why I am recommending this company. They made my first Inca trail experience so memorable. 20/10 would recommend choosing this company if it is your first time hiking the Inca Trail.

I had an incredible experience with Evolution Treks Peru on the Inca Trail! ✨️ The entire team was professional, organized, and genuinely cared about making our trek unforgettable. A very special thank you to the hardworking and kind porters and their chef Guillermo. Also their super knowledgeable and patient guide, Marco. Their strength, dedication, and constant smiles were truly inspiring. They worked tirelessly every day, always encouraging us and providing outstanding service. Their efforts made this journey so much more enjoyable and comfortable. I am deeply grateful for everything they did. This trek was great! Guillermo and his team were amazing. The meals were so delicious! They made us coca tea every morning to cure our altitude sick tummies right to our tent “doors”. I felt cared for every second by the team as well as our super guide Marco! He would stay with us slow pokes in the back of the pack and give us encouragement to get us to the top! He was so patient which made a huge impact on the hike as a whole. We had 3 women porters on our tour which was awesome! None of the other groups I saw on the trail had women porters. We loved it! Although a mishap with passport numbers at the beginning of the trek to get into the trail was a little hiccup it still was great afterwards! All in all I recommend Evolution treks for anyone who is looking for a great group to do the Inca trail with!

The whole porter crew worked really hard and I’m thankful for them. The chef, Guillermo cooked wonderfully for our entire crew and it was absolutely delicious. Other companies really don’t regulate how much porters carry but you can tell evolution treks really cares, they provide good tents and good backpacks for the porters. They are even one of the few companies who hire women porters.

We are very happy with our trail team for our 4 days Inca trail hike. Marco was an outstanding tour guide. Many of us felt sick due to altitude and other things and he was incredibly patient on the trail. He stayed back with who ever was moving slower that day and never ever rushed or pressured us. He is also incredibly passionate and educated about Inca and Peruvian history so we learned so much. Our team of porters under chef Guillermo were outstanding. They were clearly well taken care of and happy which was not necessarily the case for other porters from other companies. Our porters had adequate footwear, backpacks, and tents to make sure they were taken care of. Since they were taken care of, we were taken care of. We also had 3 women as porters holding true to their mission that of promoting gender equality. Don’t hesitate to book with them!

So glad I chose Evolution Treks for hiking the Inca Trail!! I had really wanted to find a company who cares about their employees as well as the place itself and I found it. Guillermo (the chef) and his whole team of porters were absolutely incredible - food was delicious and the porters always had positive energy and are truly the bedrock of the trip. Really glad that this company follows through and provides their porters with proper backpacks as well as hires female porters. It was really evident on the trail that other companies don’t provide the same quality of equipment to their porters, so I felt even better about my choice. Marco our tour guide also made the trip he made sure that we all made it with a positive mindset (even when altitude affected us at different times) and had great explanations about all of the different archaeological sites. He had great advice and didn’t lead us astray (for example on day 2 make sure to save lunch for the campsite!)
