Great day out on the Leeds Liverpool canal
Thanks to the guys at Ellerbeck Narrowboats, we all had an amazing time on the narrow boat Mirlees. All cutlery, cups, plates etc are provided, you just need to take your own food, coffee, tea etc. We stopped for lunch at the " Malthouse", food and service was fantastic. We will definitely book again with Ellerbeck Narrowboats.
Wonderful family day out on the Liverpool-Leeds Canal in Chorley. Mirlee very comfortably accommodated 8 adults and 3 large dogs (who had very kindly been fitted the life jackets by Steve!). The safety and tuition briefing was excellently delivered and then we were off. The canal was idyllic, nestled in nature …spotting many chicks and brooding mums along the way. Thanks Lucien for the great contact throughout the booking. We hope to be back 🥰

Wonderful experience!
Great experience. Lucian could not have been nicer introducing us to the boat, which was a first time for all of our 4 members. He gave a very nice safety and operational briefing and gave us the motivation that we could handle the boat on our own. We enjoyed the canal and the boat. We'll try another one next time across the pond.

Loads of laughter and an escape from the everyday
Myself and my partner had so much fun hiring the boat for the day! We must be mad in December......but got lucky with a dry sunny day...wrapped up and enjoyed the scenery. Steve was fantastic, so knowledgable and friendly. He gave us an education and lots of tips on how to use the boat given we had never done it before. He also made sure he told us about some good pubs for food along the way. Good time of year to learn the ropes as canal was quiet. We definately want to come back! Thanks Steve.
Love coming around fishing and having cup of tea when bas is open.

Return to Rawlinson Lane
A cracking day had by all in a gorgeous setting, marking Grandma's 80th birthday on her old Adlington and Heath Charnock family setting in style. Lucien gave a thorough safety and info/training talk beforehand, and proved extremely attentive and approachable throughout, passing on his number should we need it while further along the waterway. Just what was required on the day, our party - coming along from as far afield as Cornwall, London, Merseyside, Tyneside, and New Zealand to mark the occasion - all made very welcome and able to relax, have fun and create new memories in a beautiful part of Lancashire. We would have no hesitation in booking again. Thanks for helping us make it happen, Lucien!

Spent a day 11/10 on Mirlees as a group a celebrating a retirement. Couldn’t have asked for a better day. Weather perfectly autumnal, location fantastic, brilliant stop offs and loved meeting rocker Steve who was exceptional and made us feel like we’d known him for years, couldn’t ask for a better guide. Will be booking again in the near future. Would highly recommend to anyone reading this.

Very enjoyable day out
Myself and friends went on a day trip on the canal and it was a brilliant day the boat was kitted out with cups glasses crockery kettle all you could need for a lovely relaxing day we also hired a skipper who was very knowledgeable of the Canal and the wild life in the area and also advised us the best places to stop off on our trip he was very considerate and helpful to the passengers and very polite and he helped to make our day

A great day out
Just been on the Leeds/Liverpool canal today on a cruise provided be Ellerbeck Narrow Boats. The service provided was 1st class. We opted to have a Skipper provided by the company although you can pilot the boat yourselves. I would recommend having a Skipper so that you can all enjoy the experience together plus the fact our skipper was great fun, polite and knew where the best pub was! There is an abundance of hot water on the boat but you must bring your own food and drink. The galley, although small was spotlessly clean. Also there is safe free parking on site.

Birthday on a barge!
What an incredible day we had celebrating our friends birthday. A group of girls, fizz and nibbles. Steve was very professional and thorough explaining how to steer the boat and health and safety. Would definitely recommend 🚣⚓️

From the booking process, which was very easy to the day of the hire, Lucien kept me updated all the time. Steve who showed us the ropes and did all the paperwork, was very friendly and helpful. It a wonderful experience and everyone on board enjoyed themselves.
