Downes opticians are a pleasure to deal with. I had been having a problem with my vision and Clare spared no effort to ensure that my spectacles were adjusted to provide me with the best possible outcome. I am really pleased with how good my vision is now. The team are unfailing kind and supportive and I recommend their services wholeheartedly.

Exceptional care and kindness Clare’s care and kindness made all the difference when I urgently needed help with my sight. Despite being fully booked, she listened carefully when I explained my symptoms and saw me immediately. Her quick action identified a detached retina, which could’ve been much worse if delayed. She explained everything clearly, calmed my fears, and ensured I got to the hospital in time for surgery the next morning. I’m so grateful for her professionalism and compassion. The reception team was also lovely—such a wonderful experience overall!

Just went in for a routine NHS eye test, and Megan & Anne were really welcoming and friendly. Clare did the eye test itself, and really took the time to explain everything in detail. Some other opticians make it feel like you're being rushed through as quick as possible, but that definitely wasn't the case here - would recommend.

Went here with an eye infection , no appointment, all the staff were helpful and Sophie was able to see me almost immediately and prescribed what was needed. Thanks to you all for excellent service very much appreciated . Derek

Excellent, I couldn’t have asked for better service. The care given by this practice is incredible. I am very grateful. Sophie saw me quickly and referred me to the Eye Pavilion that afternoon. I know they didn’t have any appointments but they still managed to squeeze me in. Everyone at the practice is always helpful and cheerful. A special mention to Lyn.
