It was my 2. Tour with Do it Madeira and it was top organized again. Also the driver was again super nice and had important hints and tips. The short hike up the mountain is of course spectacular. Unfortunately, the complete route is still closed, so we went back down the valley via the PR3. I also liked this hike very much.

Es war meine 2. Tour mit Do it Madeira und es war wieder top organisiert. Auch der Fahrer war wieder super nett und hatte wichtige Hinweise und Tips. Die kurze Wanderung auf den Berg ist natürlich spektakulär. Leider ist die komplette Route ja nach wie vor geschlossen, sodass es über die PR3 zurück ins Tal ging. Auch diese Wanderung hat mir sehr gut gefallen.

Die Tour war wirklich sehr gut organisiert und alles hat bestens geklappt. Man hatte vor Ort 5 Stunden Zeit und jeder konnte in seinem eigenen Tempo wandern, da es viele Varianten gibt. Unser Guide war super freundlich und hat uns viele hilfreiche Anweisungen und Tipps gegeben.

The tour was really very well organized and everything worked out fine. You had 5 hours on site and everyone could hike at their own pace, as there are many variations. Our guide was super friendly and gave us lots of helpful instructions and tips.

I had a great experience with Do it Madeira. The whole team was very kind and helpful. The office team went beyond and above to help me organizing my 3 trips also taking the weather conditions into account. The drivers gave good recommendations, the instructions about the pick up spots and the trails were clear. Highly recommended service.
Super good service! Our driver, Filipe, was more than a good driver, he gave us so much information about the hike that it felt like we had a guide. He was so friendly and gave so much good info about what not to miss on the island; hikes, food, drinks, everything! Recommend!

Brilhante! A melhor coisa que fiz na Madeira até agora, embora a maioria do PR 1 estivesse fechada, a pequena seção restante foi deslumbrante e o PR 3 planejado, em vez disso, foi muito divertido com vistas fantásticas. O grupo fez este dia especial e todos nós tivemos um dia divertido e fizemos amigos. Obrigado por organizar Jessica e para Diogo que nos deu grandes dicas especialmente a parada de comida com grande comida e poncho local incrível. Eu gostaria que eles fizessem mais rotas diferentes que eu teria reservado sem hesitação!

Brilliant ! Best thing I have done in Madeira so far even though most of the PR 1 was closed the remaining small section was breathtaking and the planned PR 3 instead was great fun with fantastic views. The group made this day special though and we all had a fun day out and made friends. Thanks for organising Jessica and to Diogo who gave us great tips especially the food stop with great food and amazing local poncho. I wish they were doing more different routes I would have booked without hesitation !

Wir wurden absolut pünktlich um 5:30 Uhr an unserem Hotel in Funchal abgeholt, der Fahrer hat uns vor Ort die Wanderungen und Startpunkte gut in Englisch erklärt und uns Zeitachsen genannt, damit wir am Ende rechtzeitig ankommen. Danach hat er uns zum Platz des Sonnenaufgangs gebracht. Die Abholung war ebenfalls perfekt und wir wurden wieder entspannt und sicher ins Hotel gebracht. Wir können den Transfer uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würden es bei dieser Wanderung wieder so machen, da Start und Ziel völlig woanders sind.

We were picked up at our hotel in Funchal absolutely on time at 5:30 a.m., the driver explained the hikes and starting points well in English on the spot and told us timelines so that we could arrive in time at the end. Then he took us to the sunrise square. The pickup was also perfect and we were relaxed and safely taken back to the hotel. We can fully recommend the transfer and would do it again this hike, as the start and finish are completely different.

Estou muito feliz com esta experiência. Nuno foi um motorista muito gentil e explicou claramente tudo o que precisávamos saber antes de embarcar no caminho. Como viajante solo, isso me fez sentir confiante antes de começar minha aventura. Para qualquer um na cerca, fazer isso ao nascer do sol é 100% vale a pena, e definitivamente um dos mais belos lugares que já vi.

Tive uma grande experiência. Felipe é uma alma tão gentil, e foi muito divertido ser conduzido por ele. Ele explicou claramente tudo o que precisávamos saber para a caminhada várias vezes. Ele também deu um monte de ótimos conselhos sobre coisas para fazer e comida para experimentar na Madeira. Você pode dizer que ele ama o que faz, e isso fez a experiência ainda melhor. Quanto à caminhada, é impressionante! Muito viável e fácil.

Chauffeur Philippe kwam me op tijd ophalen, super aardige en sociale man! Leuke weetjes onderweg over Madeira en plekjes waar je lekker zou kunnen eten. Voor de start legt hij de route uit, de plek waar je wordt opgehaald en ook hoe laat je er moet zijn. Daarnaast geeft hij goede tips waar je de zonsopgang goed kunt zien. De zonsopgang was schitterend. Ik had super weer dus hij kwam mooi boven de wolken op. Het is daarna wel druk op het stukje PR1 dat nu open is. Daarna heb ik aansluitend de PR3 gelopen, heel mooi groen bergachtig gebied. Zeker een aanrader. Ook niet mega druk als je het sunrise tijdstip neemt.
Super uitzichten
De eerste rit bij deze aanbieder was goed bevallen dus ik heb mijn tweede transfer ook hier geboekt. Philippe kwam me weer ophalen. Dit keer ook een fijne rit in de minivan gehad. Route weer uitgelegd, plek voor de sunrise als tip aangewezen en hoe laat we weer werden opgepikt. Er stond een harde wind die dag en zeker op sommige stukken bovenop de kliffen. De uitzichten zijn schitterend op de wandelroute. Houd wel rekening met veel trappen op en af. Het wordt beschreven als gemakkelijke gezinswandeling, maar je benen (en knieën) moeten wel in goede conditie zijn. 😉Nogmaals de uitzichten zijn geweldig! Bergen, kliffen, oceaan. Top. Ik liep heel vroeg, op de terugweg was het een stuk drukker. Dus als je van rust houdt zou ik zeker de sunrise optie nemen!

Driver Philippe picked me up on time, super nice and sociable man! Fun facts along the way about Madeira and places where you could eat. Before the start he explains the route, the place where you will be picked up and also what time you have to be there. In addition, he gives good tips where you can see the sunrise well. The sunrise was beautiful. I had great weather so it came up nicely above the clouds. It is busy after that on the piece of PR1 that is now open. Then I walked the PR3, very nice green mountainous area. Definitely recommended. Also not mega busy if you take the sunrise time.

Fantástica caminhada. Christiano um bom motorista / guia. Começamos no topo da Rabacal 25 Fontes, caminhando pelas vias navegáveis, apreciando a vegetação, o clima maravilhoso e a paisagem.

Beautiful Beyond Words!
Everyone going to Madeira needs to experience this hike at sunrise and take the guided car ride! The traffic for parking at that hour is a nightmare, especially in the dark. Our driver was a park ranger and also went over the trails, dos, and don’ts of the park. He dropped us right where we needed to go for the sunrise. Dress in lots of layers, because at 6:00AM, it was 32F on the mountain… and you are waiting about 45 minutes for the sun. We lucked out our day too because there was no wind or rain and the clouds parted for us to experience this magnificent nature show. After, we hiked PR1, which had the Stairway to Heaven. This hike is an absolute must, but strenuous. We also hiked PR3; this one could be skipped as it looked like every other hike my husband and I have done in places like Iceland, Colorado, and Alaska. Plus it is a 3 hour hike and about 5 miles of constant down hill. The autumn and winter is also very wet and slippery (I fell once)! If you are doing the driver up to the park though, you get picked up at the end of PR3. But a fantastic cafe awaits you at the end! Be prepared… I work out a lot and am in shape and my halves still hurt me after 3 days… but worth it!
