To maintain the highest standard of service, we distinguish between a free preliminary case screening from an in-depth legal consultation. On our contact form we ask for brief information to clarify that information which helps us figure this out. Without commenting on your specific matter, I suspect your specific inquiry required actionable legal advice, and it moved into a professional engagement category. Our policy is to cancel the free consult and (if in scope) propose a way you to engage with us, generally a pre-paid flat fee engagement for legal advice, which is also then generally credited toward one of our flat fee packages. This ensures our teams' time is respected and not give the impression that we can simply provide free legal advice. Some might call this “skin in the game”. We also learn whether we are a good fit for each other as we are a selective law firm in who we work with to align with our core values and make sure our staff is respected. Not everyone is a good fit. Of special note, you did not engage us and rather posted a one star review. All in all, this process allows our team to serve people that understand the value proposition who make up our 300+ 5-star reviews and have engaged, and paid, us for services. We stand by the value of our expertise and understand that not every prospect will see the value proposition. We wish you the best in finding a solution that works for you.
