Someone came to look at my leaky faucet. Gave me an option of a price over 1000 for a new faucet or 700 for a repair . Had a family member come take a look before I paid and it was only 1 small loose piece that needed to be tightened ! Haven’t had a single issue since

UPDATE 2026: Since "partnering" with Dean's Home Services they no longer inspect or service fireplaces, which is a big reason we liked the company. Very unfortunate, feels like my service program is not worth much. ORIGINAL: So far, so good! Everyone I've had the pleasure of interacting with/talking to has been friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Mike K. was our salesman, and Tom W. and Mikan R. were the gentleman who did the furnace install. I can't speak highly enough of them. I hate that the previous HVAC work wasn't all done appropriately, but glad to have found these guys. Pricing is very competitive, response time is great, and there is a wonderful offer for military, current and retired. Definitely comfortable recommending this company for service or equipment.

RUN!!! These new people are scammers. I had a water heater and water softener install in April and not even 3 months and the softener bridges with the salt they put in. Last night it wake up and it is doing a recharge even though it just did one two days ago so I call for advice. NOW I find out that the company sold off to “Dean’s Home Services and they are unwilling to help me, even over the phone. I am no longer in the service area. Best part is that I had paid for a year of their service program! Nobody bothered to tell me that my house was no longer serviceable AND my service membership was still active set to renew in April! The business closed to me in May but they will not issue even a partial refund because I “got a discount”. Everybody gets the discount. The membership was also supposed to be for a year of SERVICE (up to 5 service calls I believe) which I did not get for even a month and anyone else who bought the plan in the new service area does. Save yourself the headache and terrible customer service and don’t use Dean’s Home Service.

DJ’s is no longer in business, and Dean’s Home Services has taken over operations; unfortunately, your home is no longer within our service area, which limits our ability to provide on-site support and we do not have any over the phone diagnostic options.

Regarding your previous installation, you received $1,040.38 in savings from DJ’s for your plumbing work, which fulfilled the value of that service. While we understand your concern about the membership, the $144 annual fee was effectively covered by the savings you received at the time of installation, so no additional refund is owed.

We truly wish we could assist further, but we hope this explanation helps clarify the situation.

We purchased an HVAC system in Nov 2024 that included a maintenance package for one year - expiring Nov 2025. I called to schedule the final winter furnace maintenance and was told they merged with another company and no longer service St Cloud. Therefore, would NOT honor the final maintenance. I asked if I would be reimbursed to schedule another company and was told NO! Bad service and would NEVER recommend.

I had called Deans Home services about replacing 2 outside water faucets. They said they would came and give me a free quote which they did. The quote was for over $2600 which included a membership for Deans club. Of course they wanted me to sign right away, They called a couple days later and I told them I was looking to pay more around $2000. They sent me another quote for $2000 and asked me to sign. I asked for a breakdown to see where they cut the costs and that was when communication stopped. I was able to find a Handyman who did the same work for under $600. I am so glad I didn't use Deans Home Services and not sure why they automatically add the Deans membership to their quotes without asking

Brenden was fantastic and so thorough! He explained in great detail what he was doing so I understood the problem and how he was fixing it. The service was quick and he came right away in the morning after I called the evening before. My laundry room drain was backed up. Thank you for the great service! I will definitely use them again.

DJ's is ruined now that they sold to Dean's. Tried to book online twice, but apparently their online booking isn't working, I asked someone in my household to call to schedule and DJ's refused because they weren't the owner, so I had to call in and was met with a super rude CSR which just added to the frustration. It's super corporate now (per policy which the CSR reminded me several times on the phone) their website, online booking and charges over the phone don't match. I ended up cancelling my appointment and using a different company.

I live in Monticello. My wife and I have had a swimming pool for 15 years. We used to get our pool water tested and chlorine free pool supplies a few blocks from our house. I went to get supplies and a test. A small sign on the window they closed this location and no pool supplies. No warning no letting the local people know they are going big commercial company. I now have to go to Ramsey for pool supplies. I’m a local small town shopper. I will never use this company. So not impressed of the unprofessional and rude big company mentality of this company. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable before it was sold out.

When we make changes like this, we try to notify customers through mailers, calls, social media, signage, and email. But we’ve learned it’s nearly impossible to get it right for everyone—some folks toss the mail, some don’t pick up unknown numbers, and others prefer a personal conversation.

Our goal is never to leave anyone in the dark or come across as a "big company." We’re still relatively small in the grand scheme of things (less than 250 employees), located in Brooklyn Center, and doing our best to grow while keeping personal service at the heart of what we do. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Changed to 1 star after they refuse to help with the info I need to fill out Wright-Hennepin rebate. Their receipt is inadequate and now they refuse to answer a few basic questions (tonnage, model numbers, etc)

Ac went out did some of my own research after I contacted them to come out. I had found a blown fuse in the furnace that controls power to the a c unit, i directed the repair person directly to this and was told that that was not the issue it was another part that costs seven hundred dollars to be fix, i had then told him not to do anything. And went to o'reilly's, to grab the fuse, replaced it myself.Ac is working just fine now. Place is a total scam trying to steal money from there customers.

May 30th I called them to install some smart switches. I already had most of them installed myself, there where four that where causing other issues the tech got all but two working and said they must be bad switches. I bought new ones and they still didn't work. I called and asked them to send another Tech but since my visit they merged with some other company and now do not service my area, it cost $712 for the first visit which was to get them all installed but now they won't honor it or even offer me a partial refund so I can hire someone else to complete the job.

Abruptly ended their pool service. I hope Don is doing well. Let down the pool community in Monticello! Dean's is an awful company to merge with. Way to lose your customer base.

The recent partnership between Dean’s and DJ’s was made to expand and improve the services we offer—especially in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and drains—giving customers access to a larger team, more resources, and faster service. Unfortunately, that does mean stepping away from pool supply sales at the office.

We know change isn’t always easy, but this move allows us to better serve the broader home service needs of the community. And yes, we agree—Don is the best, and we wish him nothing but success in the future.

Does good work, but pricing can be predatorial. 2k minimum to install a new sump pump (costed us 70 bucks to DIY), 2k to clean out the AC unit, 11k for a whole house water filtration. All of this takes maybe 30 minutes to do. Nothing is less than 1500 even for 30 minutes of their time. There are cheaper services.
