If you’re wanting to learn salsa or bachata, Dancer University is a great place to start. I’ve been taking bachata classes there and Joe and Nicole are the best—super patient, fun, and they make everything feel easy to learn. The vibe is welcoming and you actually enjoy the process while improving. Definitely recommend checking it out!
I attended this dance studio for bachata classes with Joe and Maria. It's very conveniently located and has a huge parking lot.
I love dancing, and Joe and Maria are incredibly professional. They explain everything in detail and give attention to every student. They're always ready to help and guide you if something doesn't work out. The atmosphere in the classes is very positive and friendly - it feels like you're part of a big dance family
The studio itself has several dance rooms. They are always clean, cozy, well-ventilated, equipped with air conditioning, and have large mirrors, which is very important for dance practice.
The receptionist is also very pleasant, positive, and friendly.
I was absolutely delighted with my experience at this studio and would happily recommend it to my friends who love dancing.

I've been attending socials, drop-in classes, and progressive courses at Dancer University for about 8 months now, and I can't say enough wonderful things about my experience.
The community here is inclusive and welcoming – whether you're a true dance beginner like me or a veteran salsera / bachatera. Everyone is here to help each other grow, have fun, and become better dancers – from the instructors and staff members to fellow students. After just a few short months here, I've made so many new friends (and brought in so many of my existing friends!) – it feels more like a community than just a hobby. I've also learned that one of life's greatest joys is running into your friend on the dance floor and sharing a dance :)
I've attended both salsa and bachata classes, and all my instructors have been knowledgeable, endlessly patient, and consistently encouraging. As someone who's shopped around at different dance studios and socials, I feel that Dancer University instructors are a tier above – they focus on technique over just combos, are good teachers as well as dancers, and are always improving themselves by attending workshops / seminars / festivals of their own. There's also a strong emphasis on taking care of each other on the dance floor and using proper technique to keep each other safe (esp Herman, a salsa instructor) – something that not all dance studios prioritize. I personally would highly recommend taking a progressive course, as you will get 1:1 feedback on your technique, which I've found has accelerated my progress as a student.
In short, I can't recommend Dancer University highly enough. So many of us have fallen in love with salsa / bachata because of Dancer University and never looked back. Just be prepared to have dance become your entire personality once you join :)

I don't really have the right words to fully convey how Nicole and Alayn have been the biggest support system for me these past 2 months. These two showed up in my life at a time I needed them most.
Dancer University is a sanctuary and such a safe environment for every student to call home away from home. It really does feel like a miniature college campus full of friends, events, and classes!
Nicole is the owner of one of the few woman-owned Latin dance schools in Los Angeles, and she pours her heart and soul into creating the best possible experience for a student inside and outside the classroom with instructors who are equally as amazing across the board.
Furthermore, what I respect tremendously about DU is that in every class, both male and female instructors teach leads how to be respectful towards a follow, and teach follows how to keep themselves safe and uphold their boundaries with a lead -- I cannot emphasize how important this type of education is -- especially if you are brand new to the Latin dance community.
Specifically to all the women reading this - choosing DU will be the best and safest decision you ever make in starting your Latin dance journey. I can guarantee you will fall in love with it as quickly as I did and can go to bed at night knowing you are part of a school that really believes in putting a student's best interest first always.
(For everyone, PLEASE do your research on Latin dance schools thoroughly before deciding to join. Read reviews, talk to other students, ask a lot of questions, make sure you feel you're getting honest information. It matters.)

Cannot say enough good things about the Zero to Hero Salsa class taught by Herman and Jules. They not only provide breakdown of technical steps and musicality/styling instruction, but they also provide cultural context and social dancing etiquette insights, which are invaluable as a beginner social dancer. Dancer university as a whole is a wonderful community full of genuine, welcoming people! Can’t wait to continue my dance journey.

I recently completed a 12-week salsa course at Dancer University after a friend who knew I was interested in taking classes, told me about the great experience she had there in the past. I was a bit hesitant to join as I felt the full series was a big commitment.
Quickly after I joined, I ended up looking forward to being in class every week. Now I couldn't be happier that I went for it, and thankful for my friend suggesting it!
Jasmine was the main instructor. She guided us with such passion and expertise, occasionally supported by Nicole. Together, they created an environment where I felt encouraged and challenged at all times. You can really see not only how much knowledge and skill they have, but also how much love they pour into what they do.
This course has done wonders for my confidence on the dance floor. When I first started, I was nervous about dancing at socials (and clueless on how to do so), but by the end of the program, I have been able to dance through full songs without fear and very little hesitation. There's so much to learn still, but woah! This is a strong beginning.
Plus, Dancer University provides a 2 hour space for all students from different courses/all levels to get together and practice on the weekend. It was SO helpful to build up confidence while dancing at socials was still too intimidating.
Their logistics team is great too and will help accommodate you for a different class, if anything comes up and you can't make it to your usual class. That was a huge plus! Only thing I didn't like.. was I didn't want the series to end! Which means DU will continue to see more of me. Looking forward to it!

Great studio with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly students. Nicole is an amazing instructor with her lessons being clear, encouraging, and fun for learning salsa and bachata. Alan was also very helpful and knowledgeable in explaining events and classes.
Dancer University is by far the best studio to learn salsa and bachata in Los Angeles and possibly in all of the west coast. Classes are clearly taught and the instructors are up to date on the latest trendy moves and techniques. Nicole is one of the most ethical and kind studio owners in LA. She is always gracious and helpful when we host our events at Dancer University and her space is also my favorite spot to take my private lessons in LA as well. Dancer University always brings the top artists for weekenders including Gero and Migle, Klau and Ros, and Franklin Diaz to name a few. I highly recommend Dancer University to anyone who is serious about leveling up their dance technique and wants to also attend the best salsa and bachata parties in LA!

I wanted to tell you that I'm having a wonderful experience learning Salsa and Bachata at Dancer University. It's a lovely, welcoming place where I enjoy dancing and learning with the best teachers. I've also met and spent time with some really nice people. My teachers are the best! On Mondays, I have Nicole and Scott. On Tuesdays, I have William and Eden, Jonny and Sami, and Yahmani and Nikki.
