Dr. Rafei is an amazing pediatrician. He is attentive, thorough with his explanations, and always takes the time to answer every question without making you feel rushed. His friendly demeanor makes visits so much less stressful, and he even takes off-duty calls when concerns come up. I especially appreciate that he doesn’t push vaccinations, but instead carefully educates parents on the benefits of each one so you can make informed decisions for your little one. Highly recommend!

Dr. Rafei and his team are remarkable. After recently moving to Maryland, I was able to get a wellness appointment right away. When my toddler had a high fever, they saw us within an hour. Dr. Rafei provided a thorough explanation of my child's illness, including what stage the virus was in and what I should expect next—an experience I've never had before! He even followed up the next day. Dr. Rafei also takes a holistic approach to wellness, considering a patient's full family history and background, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Finding a pediatrician who doesn't treat patients like a number is rare, but Dr Rafei is truly exceptional. My preteens had been under the care of a large pediatrics practice in Columbia since they were babies, but we felt more and more like a part on an assembly line. Dr Rafei is so different! He has his own practice specializing in sensitive kids and he doesn't practice 'revolving door' medicine; instead, he takes the time to actually listen, educate us on both physical and mental health topics, and look at my children's health proactively and holistically. The appointments are usually easy to get, he has stayed after hours to see us at times, and I never felt rushed. Plus, he's usually available via text, even during the weekends. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a experienced, knowledgeable and truly caring pediatrician. Your kids deserve the type of care Dr Rafei offers, you don't have to settle!

By far the best pediatric doctor ever, I had my son on 11-5-25 and I was searching on google for the best pediatric doctor and came across Culex Wellness I have never been so satisfied with the level of care and concern and addressing every chief complaint. I switched my older children to this practice and they love it, the best decision I ever made. Dr. Rafei is the best pediatrician ever 😊, always available by phone. Also to mention the office is supper clean, fun activities for the children to do and no long wait times.

We are happy to have found Dr. Rafei as our son's pediatrician. He responds to text messages after hours and even saw my son on a Sunday when he had the flu. He checked in on my son after an injury and sick visit. When we needed more medication, he filled the prescription very quickly. Most doctors are very hard to get a hold of, but Dr. Rafei will provide personalized care. He makes my son feel comfortable and we never feel rushed out of the appointment. His staff is also great too and responds to email. Thank you, Dr. Rafei!

We are so glad we chose Dr. Rafei as our pediatrician. He makes himself incredibly accessible, texting and doing virtual visits even after hours and on weekends, which has been great for my husband and me as worried first time parents. He sends follow-up texts the next day, too, after our baby has been sick, to make sure she’s progressing in the right direction and answer any new questions that have arisen. We also never have any trouble making in-person appointments; his schedule is not over-booked. On top of his accessibility, he’s also clearly very knowledgeable about sensitivities such as allergies and eczema, and he stays on top of new research. And it’s clear that he loves babies and loves what he does! My husband and I did a “meet and greet” appointment before our baby was born and were impressed and relieved to have found such a committed and knowledgeable pediatrician before our baby was born.

Very nice office but very weird vibe coming in for my son's trial/referral appointment. The office was dead quiet and it just felt strange, not warm or friendly. The doctor spent a lot of time on printouts and a verbal spiel about a very narrow concept he believes in. It was something about sensitivity types if I recall, some are more or less sensitive to certain things and react differently. Made sense but again, was weird to take so much time and focus on what felt like, a really narrow perspective. It was all about him and what he felt fascinating. Anyhoo, we were honest in our paperwork and in answering questions when we set up the appt. Yet after Dr.Raefi gave his long winded belief system and asked my son if he was comfortable having his private area checked (to which my son said no), Dr. Raefi then let me know he would not accept my son as a patient because he was only partly vaccinated. Total waste of time.

I found Culex Wellness after the big box pediatricians let me down when the going got tough with my kids. It was always too hard to get ahold of the doctors, or there was this broad diagnosis without proof or help or explanation on what my child was suffering from and what was to be expected. I called Culex Wellness, and my children were seen as soon as possible. The doctor we saw was very kind, very good at what he does and he was very helpful and informative. He saw my children as individual patients and provided care that was specific to who they are and their needs. As a parent, Dr. Rafei, was a breath of fresh air and a light in the dark. We weren’t sent away with the broad comment “oh they have a virus, you’re going to have to wait it out”. Dr. Rafei treated their symptoms, and was in communication the whole way about their progress. He was very educating on many different levels so I better understood what was happening and why. He even knew after meeting one of my children for the first time what issues he may encounter in the near future. We were still with the big box doctors and had I not mentioned what Dr. Rafei said, they would not have even considered treating my child for said issue. Dr. Rafei was right. The next time I saw Dr. Rafei was when my Children were hit with several “viruses” at a time. I was concerned for my 4 month old. Again, Dr. Rafei was there for our family. He is an incredible doctor and I’m so glad to have found him in the sea of other doctors that just brush patients off as one of many, instead of treating them as individuals with individual needs. The facility is very calming, clean, and there is great communication between patient and doctor. We have made the switch with Dr. Rafei as our children’s primary care Doctor, and we couldn’t be happier. He truly knows what he is doing and I appreciate how he approaches the least invasive way of treating and diagnosing children first, VS big box facilities that treat and diagnose children with invasive steps. Thank you, Dr. Rafei! We are grateful to have you as the Doctor for our children!
