Cancellation problems So…. I booked this hotel for New Year’s Eve until the second of Jan, via Expedia. Payment was not due until day of arrival. No cancellation fee. I emailed the guest house to explain that due to a sudden bereavement in the family that I would be unable to attend and to cancel my booking. The guest house explained I would have to cancel with Expedia as the booking was through them. So I made the cancellation on the morning of the 27 Nov and later that day the full payment was taken out of my bank by the guest house. Expedia have been in touch with the guest house and had no response and they were also told that there was no one there to answer the queries., I’m still waiting for a response from both parties as to why my money was taken in full after cancellation and more so if payment was not due to be made. In the meantime I’m 267 pounds out of pocket so near Xmas and after losing a family member. Can not believe the audacity of both. Although Expedia have been more helpful than the guest house.

Wonderful weekend stay. ☺ Hosts were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in Room 5 which had 4 poster bed which was so comfortable and bedding was beautiful. Room was huge and views were amazing. Breakfast was excellent good selection and everything delicious. ☹ We had no negatives.
