Two Aussies and Two Germans ( with tandem) have just returned from Cornwall. It was a fantastic tour with many highlights. Cornwall was hillier than we expected so the e-bikes were a must! Lanyon and his mum Dulcie were of great assistance along the ride. When the St. Mawes ferry wasn’t working due to rough weather, they ferried us in their cars to Falmouth. Lanyon met us at our Wadebridge hotel, adjusted the e-bikes and provided us with a comprehensive pack of information (navigation app, rainproof maps and an Ordnance Survey map). He transferred our suitcases each day and checked in regularly on our progress. Highlights were St. Brevita‘s bell ringers at Llanlivery, St. Michael’s Mount, The Eden Project and the friendly folk we met everyday in Cornwall. Accommodation ranged from excellent to good. Most (but not all) provided a shed for bike storage. All in all, a super bike trip! 😃

Fantastic South West Cycle Tour Two Aussies and two Germans (with tandem) have just returned from Cornish Cycle Tours -South West Tour. Cornwall was a fantastic place to ride with variation each day. One tip though - it's hillier than we imagined so the ebikes were essential. Twenty miles per day doesn't sound a lot for an experienced rider but, it felt a lot more!Lanyon arrived at our Wadebridge hotel to greet us, help load the navigation app, adjust the bikes and present us with a comprehensive pack of rainproof maps, instructions and a Cornwall Ordnance Survey map. He checked in on our progress regularly and transported our suitcases between hotels. When the St. Mawe's ferry stopped due to poor weather, Lanyon and his mum transported us to Falmouth by car.Highlights were the bell ringers at St. Brevita's church, Llanlivery, The Eden Project and St. Michael's Mount. Small, coastal villages with working fishing fleets were absolutely picturesque. However, best of all were the Cornish folk along the way. They are super friendly and genuinely want to chat. Hotels ranged from excellent to good and most, but not all garaged the bikes in an undercover shed/garage. All in all, a super trip!

My wife and I took the 14-day Cornish tour, including the Isles of Scilly and an extra down day on St. Marys (in the islands). We had a great time on the trip despite it not going quite according to what we had planned. We started with non-assisted bikes and after the first day converted to e-bikes. We are reasonably fit cycle tourers, but on the first day from Padstow to Lanlivery there were hills we had to walk up. This was the easy day! Looking at the upcoming grades, we asked Lanyon (our tour proprietor) if we could switch to e-bikes. He was able to accomodate us. These proved very capable of handling the hills. Unless you are comfortable with multi-mile 10% (average) climbs, go for the e-bike option. We saw one sign that indicated a 17% grade on one hill the third day. Unfortunately, on the third day, my wife had a bit of a crash that injured her shoulder just three miles outside of St. Maws. Lanyon was a prince, coming down to find us and take us to the A&E at the hospital in Truro for triage and x-ray. He stayed with us for three hours while the UK wheels of medicine turned. Yep! The shoulder was cracked. You haven't really visited a place until you've seen its medical system up close. The crash took us off the bikes, so we converted to a walking tour for the rest of the trip, traveling with the luggage. Lanyon took us to our next destination that evening and we continued on. We had four days (three nights) on St. Mary's in the Isles of Scilly. I strongly recommend the Scilly option. It was the best part of the trip over all. Other highlights: 1) the Porthleven Beerseller (a unique bottle shop in the UK), 2) Neal at the St. Ives Brewery Store. 3) The two Robs plus Sarah and Shell with whom we shared beers in Pennenporth. 4) Walking miles across some of the best country in the would. 5) The winds and sunset at Sennen Cove and Land's End. Come to Cornwall, get on bikes (try not to crash) and explore one of the best places on earth.

Awesome tour through Cornwall We had a great 6-days cycling tour through Conrwall. The rented bikes proofed to be in excellent condition and were a delight for the tour. Check-in and handover as well as returning passed flawless and Cornish Cycle Tours provided an excellent luggage service during the trip. We even found sometimes our stuff already in the rooms when arriving, thanks so much, Lanyon!The land- and seascape provided an awesome experience and we enjoyed so mch of Cornwall. We certainly will return.

Wat een heerlijke vakantie waarin wij een mooi deel van Cornwall hebben gezien: een golvend landschap, met holle wegen omzoomd door eeuwenoude heggen, schitterende havenplaatsjes, geweldige klimkusten afgewisseld met gele stranden! Het klinkt als een reclamefolder maar door het heerlijke weer, voelde de fietsreis ook als een heerlijke outdoor belevenis. De hotellocaties waren goed gekozen en boden afwisselend de typische Cornish gezelligheid, vaak in een even mooie setting! Wij kijken terug op heerlijke ontspannende dagen, waarbij onze tip zou zijn om af en toe eens een dag de fiets te laten staan, en een extra verblijfsdag te kiezen in bijv. Fallmouth of St. Ives.

Discovering the beautiful sides of Cornwall What a wonderful holiday, during which we saw a beautiful part of Cornwall: an undulating landscape, with sunken lanes lined with ancient hedgerows, stunning harbor towns, and fantastic climbing coastlines interspersed with golden beaches! It sounds like a sales brochure, but the glorious weather made the cycling trip feel like a wonderful outdoor experience. The hotel locations were well-chosen, offering a variety of typical Cornish charm, often in equally beautiful settings! We look back on wonderfully relaxing days, and our tip would be to occasionally leave the bike for a day and choose an extra day in, for example, Fallmouth or St. Ives.

After every bend, there was another stunning view of the rugged landscape or the Atlantic Ocean. We had an unforgettable cycling holiday in Cornwall. We did the 6-days 'Cornish Tour' with our own gravel bikes. For us, it was the perfect mix between a sufficiently challenging cycling experience and enough time for sightseeing or a refreshing dip in the sea.Speaking about challenging: at some point I saw a gradient of 28% appearing on my device. For the first time since I bought my bike, I had to rely on my lowest (40:44) gear...The success of the cycling holiday was largely due to the flawless organisation of Cornish Cycle Tours, with nicely planned and well-documented cycling routes and luggage that was always ready when checking in at the next hotel. Being Garmin Edge addicts, we preferred to use the .gpx files rather than the hard copy description. The app 'Ride with GPS', which is included in the price, is remarkably good. Unfortunately, there was one downside to the trip: Cornwall does not have a cycling culture (yet). Car drivers don't expect cyclists. In the absence of convex (or other traffic) mirrors, this sometimes leads to dangerous situations, especially on the small roads?

I can't think of a better way to discover Cornwall than with a bike tour! We did the 3 day North Cornwall tour and everything was perfect. Lanyon gave us great preparation ahead of time, Dulcie got us all set up from the train station (and back), the company put us up in the most charming old inns, the route app worked really well, and we safely rode down beautiful paths and country lanes. Yes some of the hills were MUCH higher than we expected, but we made it. The food and drink of Cornwall is a foodie's paradise - everything is so fresh and local. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves cycling and wants to discover a very beautiful part of the world.

Tour was enjoyable but because of the severity of the hills more than an average level of fitness is required (unless you have an electric bike) Accomodation was good. Mirrors on bikes would be helpful especially as the roads are quite narrow. No problems with the support which thankfully was not required. Ride with GPS essential as sometimes difficult to follow maps and step by step notes.

We completed the 5-day West Cornwall Bike Tour with Cornish Cycle Tours at the end of April 2024, and our experience was fantastic, thanks to the exceptional service provided by Lanyon Rowe. From the initial booking all the way through to the tour itself, Lanyon was in constant touch, keeping us informed every step of the way. He went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, ensuring the entire experience was seamless and enjoyable. The trip itself was both challenging and exhilarating, offering breathtaking views of the Cornish countryside. Although we had heavy rain for the first two days and cycled between rain showers, even the weather couldn’t dampen our spirits. We highly recommend bringing quality rain gear to stay comfortable. The only thing we weren’t fully prepared for was just how hilly Cornwall could be! Be sure to review the difficulty level of the trip, as there are some steep climbs along the way. Lanyon was impressed that we didn’t request e-bikes after day 2! We were captivated by the stunning scenery, which ranged from narrow, winding country roads to charming harbors, picturesque beaches, and vibrant farmlands. The route also took us past fascinating remnants of Cornwall’s mining heritage, with ancient stone structures adding to the area's unique charm. The Cornish countryside is truly breathtaking, and cycling is undoubtedly one of the best ways to take it all in. Lanyon provided excellent service, including pick-up and drop-off at the train station and managing our luggage transfer, which made the trip stress-free. We stayed in a great selection of accommodations each night, and the bikes provided were of excellent quality. Overall, we highly recommend the West Cornwall Bike Tour for anyone looking for a unique and adventurous way to explore Cornwall. It was an unforgettable experience, and we would definitely be interested in doing another Cornish Cycling tour again!

Die auf der Homepage angebotene 8-tägige Poldark-Tour wurde auf unseren Wunsch hin auf 7 Tage verkürzt und modifiziert. Der Grund hierfür war, dass der einzige Direktflug nach Newquay Cornwall Airport von Deutschland immer nur Samstags ab Düsseldorf geht. Das hat problemlos geklappt und wir haben detailliertes Kartenmaterial, ausführliche Wegbeschreibungen usw. erhalten. Die Navigation mit der Ride with GPS App hat problemlos funktioniert, alle Routen waren auch offline verfügbar. Die Hotels wurden mit Liebe ausgewählt und waren von der Lage und Ausstattung wirklich einmalig. Insgesamt waren es für uns wunderschöne und erlebnisreiche Tage und wir haben eine Unmenge von neuen Eindrücken gewonnen. Die Landschaft Cornwalls ist wirklich einzigartig in ihrer Vielfalt und die Menschen sind ausnahmslos freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben im Januar 2024 die Tour “The Cornwall & Scilly Cycle Tour – 14 Days” bei Cornish Cycle Tours gebucht. Wir sind die Tour ab Mitte Juni 2024 gefahren und wir waren sehr begeistert. Die Tour war akribisch vorbereitet mit sehr viel Informations- und Kartenmaterial. Die individuelle Betreuung durch Lanyon Rowe war immer sehr kompetent und freundlich. Mein Gepäck wurde von der Fluggesellschaft erst 3 Tage später angeliefert. Lanyon hat mein Gepäck am Flughafen Newquay abgeholt und in unsere Unterkunft gebracht. Nochmals vielen lieben Dank! Beim Wetter hatten wir Glück. Es gab nur ganz wenige kurze Schauer und einen einzigen Tag mit Nieselregen. Dadurch konnten wir die schönen Landschaften und urtümlichen Orte noch mehr genießen. Die Etappen der Tour waren sehr abwechslungsreich ausgewählt. Wir konnten viele sehr schöne Landschaften entlang der Klippen und auch sehr schöne Ortschaften mit alten und urtümlichen Gebäuden entdecken. Jeden Tag waren wir gespannt, was uns auf der nächsten Etappe erwartet. Auf der Tour gab es eine gute Mischung aus verschiedenartigen modernen und auch urtümlichen Hotels auf dem Land, am Hafen oder am Strand. Die Strecke enthält teilweise größere Steigungen und Gefälle, für die ggf. auch ein e-bike Sinn machen könnte. Unser Fazit: Eine Reise, die wir nie vergessen werden. Empfehlenswert!

Wir haben eine 7 Tage/6 Nächte - Tour gebucht und wir waren wirklich sehr zufrieden. Lanyon war uns bereits während der Planung/Buchung und während der gesamten Tour ein freundlicher, sehr hilfsbereiter und sehr verlässlicher Tour-Guide. Wir konnten die finale Tour bis nach St Ives verlängern und seine Tipps, das Kartenmaterial und die bereitgestellte Navigations-App haben wir gern genutzt. 5 der 6 Unterkünfte waren wirklich richtig gut sowohl von der Lage, der Ausstattung und dem Frühstücksangebot. Als wir gleich am ersten Tag einen technischen Defekt hatten, war er innerhalb einer knappen halben Stunde mit einem Ersatzrad vor Ort und wir konnten nach einem Drink im mit ihm als Treffpunkt vereinbarten Pub unsere Tour fortsetzen. Die E-Bikes, Taschen und Helme waren optisch eher neuwertig

We had a really great time on the Poldark tour. Lanyon was very attentive and responsive and made sure that everything was prepared properly. The Ride With GPS app was terrific. To navigate, we didn’t need any of the other materials that were provided. However, your iPhone battery won’t last for more than half a day, so be sure to bring a backup battery pack. Accommodations were outstanding and luggage transfer was flawless. Great Job Cornish Cycle Tours!

We did the Poldark Tour in July 2024. We have done many cycle tours in UK before and were delighted that this proved to be the best we had ever done. Everything was so well organised: Punctual pick from the station Good ebikes Terrific accommodation Well thought out route selection The scenery has magnificent, with every day having something different. There was never a dull moment. The challenging gradients were handled well by the ebikes. We used the RidewithGPS route app and had no problem with navigation. We are already planning another cycle tour in Cornwall with Lanyon and Cornish Cycle Tours next year.

Very professionally organized tour Lanyon has combined a Poldark tour with a stay on the Scilly Islands at our request. The tour with a total of 12 nights was well planned and very professionally organized. With the pedelecs provided, the 7 daily stages of around 50 km each were easy and reliable to complete. Navigating with the gpx routes provided by Lanyon, which led us along the impressive coastline and to the numerous sights, was particularly helpful for us. The hotels selected by Lanyon showed an interesting cross section of typical bed and breakfast accommodation. We enjoyed the Polurrian Hotel near Mullion Cove, Schooners on St Mary's and the Old Vicorage in St Ives. We can fully recommend Cornish Cycle Tours and would like to thank Lanyon again for everything.

Es war eine ganz tolle Poldark Fahrradtour in Cornwall. Die Landschaft ist einmalig, tolle Fahrradwege, wunderschöne Ansichten, tolle Buchten und supernette, entspannte Menschen. Wir sind über 300 Kilometer gefahren und haben fast 4.500 Höhenmeter mit den E-Bikes geschafft. Es hat alles geklappt, was Du organisierst hast. Die Übernachtungen waren alle sehr schön, der Gepäckservice hat einwandfrei geklappt, die Zurverfügungstellung der GPS-Daten für das Handy hat wunderbar funktioniert. Rundherum eine gelungene Reise. Auch die Überfahrten mit den Fähren von und nach Dover sind problemlos erfolgt. Nochmals vielen Dank für diese schöne Reise.
