My review relates to Contour's pricing disclosure practices—or, more accurately, the apparent lack of transparency around price increases.
In December 2024, I signed a contract for my daughter's UCAT preparation program, indicating that she would be sitting the UCAT in 2026. I relied on the signed agreement and trusted that fees would be charged in accordance with that contract. I provided direct debit authority on that basis.
Between September 2025 and May 2026, I received no invoices. Then, in May 2026, I suddenly received two invoices, which prompted me to investigate. One of these invoices related to the Contour MedPrep UCAT course. When I reviewed my bank statements, I was surprised to discover that significantly higher amounts had been debited from my account from December 2025 onwards.
It was not until 2 June 2026 that I was provided with receipts for the payments already taken via direct debit. I then carefully reconciled the charges against my signed contract and discovered that the pricing had increased effective 30 November 2025.
My concern is simple: I was never notified of a price increase, never asked to sign an amended contract, and never asked to provide explicit consent to higher fees. For more than two weeks, I repeatedly requested evidence that I had been notified of the pricing changes.
Despite approximately ten follow-ups, I have received only the same standard response stating that "returning families" were informed of the 2026 pricing transition and given opportunities to secure 2025 pricing before a deadline. However, despite my repeated requests, no evidence has been provided showing that these communications were actually sent to me.
I have thoroughly searched my email account multiple times and even checked my daughter's email account. We cannot locate any such communication. What makes this even more concerning is that higher charges began being debited from my account on 24 December 2025, despite the company's own correspondence referring to a deadline of 11:59 pm on 31 December 2025 for families to secure existing pricing.
What I find most frustrating is not simply the pricing issue itself, but the lack of transparency and the inability or unwillingness to provide evidence when requested. Repeatedly sending a standardised response without addressing the specific concerns raised is disappointing customer service.
I also requested a discussion with Ramodh, one of the co-founders, to resolve the matter. Instead, I was effectively told this would not happen, which left me feeling that customer concerns were not being taken seriously. Given the substantial investment families make in these programs, I expected a much higher standard of customer care and accountability.
My advice to other parents is to carefully monitor invoices, receipts, direct debits, and any pricing communications. Keep your own records and verify that charges align with your signed agreements.
As for the quality of the teaching itself, time will tell. Ultimately, the results achieved by students will speak for themselves.
