Serena is a wonderful Chinese teacher. I have had the chance to study Mandarin from zero in September 2025. On December 6th 2025, I successfully passed the HSK3 exam thanks to her patience, guiding and support. She is kind, patient and very passionate about teaching. I was just staying long enough in Singapore for 6 studying days taking private lessons. I really wished, I could have stayed longer. However, even that short time boosted my rusted Chinese tremendously. I now feel very confident taking my next HSK exam, which before - I had huge doubts about - now I even enroll in one higher HSK level!

You can just sit opposite of the important-looking business man with a suit on and sipping a coffee and recapping what you have learned in the morning - for free - even on the weekends if you are as motivated as I was (then you will have the office almost to yourself).

Great school! The main teacher, Serena, is very hard working, making a special curriculum to accommodate me and my 2 kids (13 and 10 years old). We all have different interests and different levels of Chinese. Serena is very easy to communicate with and a true professional. We did an online interview so she could judge our levels before we arrived and she could tailor a curriculum for us. And then we studied a range of vocabulary and grammar structures each day.
Serena is such an amazing teacher, she put so much effort into my studying lesson, she's cheerful, so that every time I have a bad day, she always brighten my day by the way she teaches me Mandarin ✨✨

Serena is an absolutely incredible teacher! I was in Singapore for four weeks and had zero Chinese experience so I didn't expect to be able to learn very much, but after daily one on one lessons with Serena I made far more progress than I could have believed and felt confident to be able to go into stores and restaurants and try some sentences. She is the most caring and dedicated teacher and customises her lessons completely based upon how you best learn and what you are trying to achieve.
Not to mention that she is one of the nicest people I've ever met! Serena was a major reason that I enjoyed my stay in Singapore as much as I did and she helped to introduce me to many areas of Chinese food and culture outside of the classroom. Our classes were extremely light and fun but I always came away having learned a lot. I fully recommend to anyone that you go with her language school!
I had class at Co-Chinese last year for eight months and I could never have learned Chinese so quickly with another school. I had Serena as a teacher and she was truly wonderful. The school itself is everything you could hope for: the teacher are available at all times, different kind of activities are organized every week for the students to get to know the Chinese culture better, the location of the school in Chinatown is very convenient and the classes are in a quiet and comfortable environment. Co-Chinese will help you achieve your goals, no matter what they are. I would recommend that school for anyone who wants to learn Chinese.

I cannot recommend Serena as a teacher enough. I started Chinese lessons with her as an absolute beginner. She was very patient with me throughout the whole process, encouraging me when I did not feel confident and helping me with my pronunciation and grammar. She taught me standardized lessons not only based on the HSK grading system (so I would be prepared for the tests should I wish to take them) but I also learned about local words and phrases as well as interesting facts about Chinese culture. My Chinese improved drastically throughout the three months I spent learning with her and I really enjoyed the whole process, which as someone who has struggled a lot with learning languages in the past made such a huge difference. If you want to improve your Chinese I would 100% recommend Serena, she is dedicated, kind and a highly talented teacher.
