I had a brilliant experience at Clarke & Roskrow. I’d been struggling to find a pair of glasses that really suited me after visiting loads of other places—nothing quite felt right. I wanted something a bit different, but not too “out there.” Tina was amazing. She quickly picked out several pairs that I genuinely loved, which honestly made the decision harder—but in a good way! She then guided me through choosing the right one, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Even the eye test gave me real confidence that I was getting the right prescription. I’d definitely recommend Clarke & Roskrow—easily the best opticians in the area.

I’ve worn glasses most of my life and in recent years I have just settled for ones that were “good enough.” I now realise how much I have been missing. It seems mad now to be parsimonious about something I wear on my face every single day. Firstly the care and attention from Andy during the very thorough eye examination was immensely reassuring, I appreciated not being rushed. It was great choosing frames with Bhav, I felt like a kid in a sweet shop, he was brilliant and I had so much fun. What I didn’t expect was the subtle improvement in vision, these varifocals are like driving a Porsch instead of a Ka. The two pairs I bought spark joy daily: because they are fabulous, comfortable and effective. And yes, of course I will be back.

When you enter the premises it immediately feels good, and you relax. All the staff are friendly and approachable, and the coffee is to die for!! I am amazed at the attention to detail from everybody, particularly Anthony who goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied . A visit is an experience you should enjoy, rather than wasting time on other providers. Keep up the good work.

I have had a fantastic experience with the Clarke and Roskrow team recently, having felt quite frustrated in the past with the overall experience at high street opticians. My C&R styling appointment was with Tina, who took the time to understand what I wanted and felt comfortable with, and helped me to make sense of the options out there. C&R have an extensive range of frames, which I was excited to explore with Tina's expertise guiding the process. I've never felt excited about wearing glasses before but I love my new glasses - they are both comfortable and eye catching! Thanks C&R!

I've tried all high street opticians over the years with varying results, but the personal, friendly and expert service at Clarke and Roskrow has been the best by some distance for a number of reasons: the eye testing was more technically advanced and felt more expertly conducted with greater personal engagement; the choice and fitting of frames was assisted by Tina, who made the experience enjoyable and enlightening with her style advice and technical expertise and I am very pleased with my new glasses, which in practical use and individual design are so much better than anything I have tried before. I have relatively recently started wearing glasses all the time, rather than just for reading, so I have appreciated the expert vision and style advice from C and R. Glasses help define an individual identity in addition to being a practical essential, therefore they are a worthwhile investment.

Latest review: The team at Clarke & Roskrow are superb, which is why my Husband and I keeping going back! Everything from their thorough eye testing, glasses selection and fitting, to customer service is brilliant. Bhav was a star as always! Definitely another 5* review from us. Previous review: If you need some new specs, or need help with your eyes Head off to Clarke & Roskrow, as they are amazing guys! They make sure your eye health is great and is all is tip top If you need some glasses they have a fantastic choice with fab colour pops! So as you can tell, there really is one place to go.... the wonderful Clarke & Roskrow!

Good old fashioned ( but high tech at the same time) service. The good folk at C&R are friendly, highly professional and really go to the enth degree to give you an excellent experience from a thorough test using the latest equipment right through to the final fitting. Yes, more expensive than Specsavers.....but Specsavers told me I had macular degeneration and supplied a pair of glasses I couldn't see through. C&R tested my eyes with high tech equipment and an excellent optometrist who confirmed all was well and that the specsaver prescription was a mile out. You get what you pay for and eyes are not to be bargained with. I feel confident and comfortable with C&R so will not be using anyone else. Well done to the team at C&R and keep the Werthers topped up!

I had been searching for a pair of circular glasses to replace my current pair for a while and found Clarke and Roskow on Facebook. They were advertising their 11th birthday & new website launch competition. I looked at their website and was impressed by the range of frames I could see, took a punt and entered their competion and I won the Big Runners-Up Prize (A £97 Eyewear Gift Voucher)! The service I received at Clarke and Roskow was expemplary: it was personal, friendly, professional and confidence building. Tina helped me to find the perfect new frame, was the best hype girl and just one of the kindest people you will ever meet. In fact the entire team is exactly the same, the owner Anthony provided the same lovely service when performing my free complementary eye exam. I highly recommend this opticians for a unique, personalised and professional experience where you can find fantastic frames you never would on the high street. :)
