I was so grateful to have been referred to ClaimsHero by an independent law firm. Samantha Lucht answered my inquiry and has been a God send. From the get-go she had a plan, she approached my case with professionalism, was caring, understanding & really wanted to help.
An fire left my mother’s rental property uninhabitable. What started as a relief when the Insurer offered to undertake repairs & promising to start ‘any day now’ soon became a nightmare when after more than 12 months of stalling, the appointed Builder walked off the job, the Insurer plucked a ready 'get out of doing the repairs' clause with no warning and offered a low ball ‘cash you out’ offer - not sufficient to do the repairs required. The Insurer stated they are ‘exercising their discretionary right’ & the Builder told me to look in the Yellow pages for someone who cared.
My mother is elderly, solely relies on this income for her living expenses, speaks no English & has no building knowledge – what is she supposed to do now? No offer of support or even acknowledgement of her vulnerability just a big fat ‘sayonara sucker’ rhetoric. It has been such an unfair & unreasonable experience & I didn’t know what to do to help my mother. Samantha from ClaimsHero was just so professional, reassured me she could and would help. I was very grateful for her kind & genuine care. She was generous with her time and most importantly had the experience and knowledge to get a grip on this case - which let’s face it was a mess.
Samantha reviewed our case including all documents – reports from the Builder & Engineer, the correspondence from the Insurer and helped me see that I had a case to request a fair contribution for the cost of repairs rather than the lowball offer proposed. Though ClaimsHero couldn’t take on this case, as likely the Insurer can retaliate & become combative so ClaimsHero involvement could hinder as opposed to help however Samantha did not leave me stranded like other service providers, she was very kind to help me structure a submission to the Insurer, she provided me with written guidance on what steps to take including wordsmithing a submission to dispute the claim, outlined the legal principles I could use to argue the case, helped me source a builder to get a fair & reasonable quote, helped me be clear with what I was asking for and to really drive the message home to the insurer that I wasn’t prepared to just ‘piss off’ . She also encouraged I escalate the claim to AFCA which I would have been too intimated to do without her support. When I asked why is she helping me, she indicated that the system is unfair, we as claimants get no support, the Insurer has the upper hand & unfortunately it’s a common practice.
I highly recommend getting in touch with ClaimsHero and having a conversation, they will help you one way or another. If they can take on your case then that’s great but even if they can’t, they won’t leave you stranded. They will give you guidance and support you.
ClaimsHero really do try to level out the playing field that is in the favour of these insurance giants. We have rights and there are codes of conduct but it’s such a minefield to navigate through it all. Time will tell what happens next for us but I am so grateful that ClaimsHero exist & I have learned so much already.

Claims Hero helped us resolve an insurance claim that had been dragging on for over 2.5 years with one of the top insurance companies, which left us unable to live in our house. Initially, the insurer only offered us a very low $13,000 for water damage - damage that was made even worse by the makeshift repairs carried out by the contractor the insurer sent out. Are you facing a difficult insurance issue?
Even though Claims Hero may not be able to take your case because of overwork, they do provide valuable legal information if you are prepared to do the work yourself
I contacted Claims Hero extremely distressed that my home insurer had refused my claim for my ceiling collapse, following a water ingress even 6 months prior. My insurer relied on a questionable report and an even more questionable process to deny my claim.
I got a call from Natasha Bullis who apologised for Claims Hero not being able to take my claim, as they were snowed under with requests for help. Natasha instead provided me with a half page legal summary email about potential legal responses to issues I faced.
It was Natasha's information that gave direction to my research, using AI and other tools, examining industry standards, regulations, court presedence and similar. I ended up with a 19 page response that took my insurer to task not only for its decision but also its decision making ethics and process
So, if Claims Hero cannot take your case because of overwork, remember: record your conversation with them so that you can listen again and again and again until you fully absorb the legal instruments Claims Hero has indicated will help you define how to address your response.
