Refuse to fix my refrigerator.
I have been a customer since January 2023. My refrigerator is not working properly. CHW refuses to fix the fridge. CHW offers $818.00.
$818 is not adequate when a similarly sized refrigerator in Costco is over $2,550. CHW refuses to fix or give me a similar-sized refrigerator with the same features (water & ice dispensation).
This business is a ripoff!!! I paid them every month and never filed a claim. Then when I do they make me wait a week and never call me back to tell me when a technician will be available. I had to call them just to hear that they couldnt find a tech. Now on their website they boast of having thousands of techs at their disposal. So they tell me to find a tech on my own. Why do I need them if I have to find the tech? So I find a tech and ask them to reimburse me for my expenses. In order for that to happen the tech must file a reimbursement form first before they do the job then wait for a response from them. Now mind you Ive been waiting for a week with no response from them. Now they want me tell the tech (which I got on my own) not to do the repairs until they OK it!!!!! The tech I find has no knowledge of this service and refuses to go on their website to file the reimbursement form. He says h*** send me the invoice and I can submit the claim to this company. Now I really need this tech to fix my problem as its been a week since I first called CHW. How do you think this is resolved? *** will not reimburse me since the tech didnt file the reimbursement form himself. Now this repair was needed for one of my rental homes and my tenant is upset that its taking so long. So I have no other choice but to paid the tech, out of my pocket and eat the cost of the repair. All the while *** is taking money out of my account every month. This is not how business is supposed to operate. And when I call to voice my complaint about the subpar service and response, they talk to me in a cavalier manner like they could care less. I go to their website to submit a review but theres no way to do it on their website. Its like dealing with the mob. F-you pay me!
CHOICE HOME WARRANTY A BUSTED BUSINESS THEY LIE TO GET THE BUSINESS AND THEN NO SERVICE REPAIR COMPANY WANTS TO DEAL WITH THEM . THEY DONT PAY THE CONTRACTORS.I CALLED TO GET MY HEATING UNIT LOOKED AT, I WAITED A DAY, THEY STATED THAT THEY DONT HAVE ANYONE IN THE **** AND FOR ME TO GET SOMEONE HERE. I HAD TO GET THE ********************* HERE FOR REPAIR. THEY CAME THE NEXT DAY. THIER CONTRACTOR CALLED ME A WEEK LATER AND SAID THEY WERE GIVEN THIS REPAIR. THEY LIE TO GET THE CONTRACT, THEY HAVE NOONE IN THE ****, THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO SEND AN EMAIL TO NOTIFY ME OF SERVICE REPAIR. NONE SENT. SAME THING WITH MY STOVE. THIS COMPANY IS FOR THE ****** NEVER AGAIN. I ASKED FOR MONEY BACK. OF COURSE NOT. THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAH. THEY LIE, LIE, LIE.DONOT USE THIS *********** MIGHT AS WELL DO IT YOURSELF
I bought a Choice Home Warranty policy because they were shown as one of the best online per ******. They are so wrong. Our heater went out over a month ago and I still have no heat. Technicians wont come out because they are owed money from past jobs that they have not been paid for. The last technician that they assigned would not even come out to my house because they are owed over ********* in back jobs that were approved. The owner said that they wont allow them to use original equipment parts to do the job right. There is still snow on the ground and we have lows in the teens and highs in the 30s and no heat for over a month is unacceptable. They say I can use their reimbursement system , REALLY, YOU JUST HAD THE OWNER OF AN ************ TELL ME THAT YOU OWE THEM OVER 12k DOLLARS !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I have worked with many warranty companies and I have NEVER seen anything like this. When they sell you they explain how much better they are than all the other companies yet I have no heat in January for over a month. Trust me, keep your money!! Tried to talk to a Manager on the phone but you cant get to one which is fine because I'm sure they cant do anything about it anyway. The people answering the claims calls are reading right off a sheet of paper and not listening to a word you say!!
If I could leave zero stars , I would. My dryer stopped heating on December 10, 2024. I put in a claim that day. I had to wait a week before a technician came out. The tech said I needed a new heating element. He wouldn't be able to come back until after Christmas. I called back December ******* *** contacted the tech and he said part is on order with no eta. Icalled *** and said that wasnan acceptable answer. The person from *** said I could get another tech but would have to pay another ******. The *** person said they have NO time limit on how long you have to wait for parts or when the tech returns. On December ******* *********** they contracted called to say the part was in. His tech would come January 8, 2025. On January 6, the contractor called and said his tech was sick and couldn't come until January 16 or 17th. I called *** and was told I had to wait. The tech came January 15, 2025 to replace the part. It worked for less than 1 hour. I called *** and was told the tech will come back on January 20, 2025. I have been without my dryer for over 35 days. I have spent 100 fir the tech to come . Paid CHW two times *****. Spent another 120 to get my clothes dried . It is cheaper to NOT have this warranty. What's the point of having this service if they don't get the job done. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
No stars from me heat been out since 01/08/2025 keep getting sad stories that they trying to find someone to fix my heating problem that been out since 01/08/2025.
My clothes dryer quit working, and afier I contacted Choice, they sent a tech out to my home (costing me $65. for the non-refundable service charge). He determined the problem and provided Choice (and later me) with a repair quote. Choice denied the claim in its entirety, stating that the failure was due to normal ************ (the main issue with the dryer was a crack on the inside face of the control board panel, and Choice agrees that the failure may have been due to poor design by the manufacturer, but that it failed due to normal ************* excuse me for not understanding, nor agreeing with, their logic and assessment!) A case manager that I initially was referred to had requested that I get a written itemization of that repair quote, and that Choice would make me a cash settlement incl the refund of the $ 65 service fee (since the dryer was not repaired by the tech that they sent out). I got that itemization, and when I offered to email it to another case manager (since the one that I had initially spoken with and who had committed to respond with a cash settlement wasn't available), I was told on no uncertain terms that: "my claim was being denied in its entirety", and to, in essence, to go to h*** I intend to file a claim against Choice in Small Claims Court. (I suggest that anyone damaged by Choice should do that, and make them pay by tying them up in court proceedings and the resultant bad press - esp on social media. Go to BBB's page on this company for the names of senior management and their general counci, plus phone #s.
I was told by their case manager *** and another representative, ***** that I am responsible for paying the service fee and cost of repairs and/or replacement up front then get reimbursed.This was not discussed with sales rep ****** *. before entering into the contract. *** said this was in the contract, this was not in the contract. Im seeking a total refund of what I paid v/s the $338 they are offering. I would not have entered into a lopsided contract like this.*** and ***** both know this is not fair to the consumer and this appears to be misrepresentation or fraud.
I dont even want to give a star but I have to to leave a review. *** had them for 4 years without any complaints until now. My microwave went down and to replace it is $400 they are willing to settle for $190 and gave attitude until I told them that I have been recording the conversation so dont waste your money with this company and go with a reputable company
In the years we have been with this company, we have had 3 claims. None have went well. The first was a garage door opener that ended up costing us almost $800 instead of the deductible... the first guy they hired said they were too hard to work with) The second was a plumbing issue that caused us again, much more than the deductible. The last straw was when our heating system went out, during below freezing weather and they were not even there for us...told us to hire our own company and then refused to pay
Worst company ever. I paid up with these people for three years and they also gave me an additional two years free. Sounds great right? Not so much, any time i needed anything fixed in my home they sent out the cheapest slowing moving companies, every claim took extremely long. I had a plumbing issue in my kitchen sink and the claim took over a month to fix, I was doing dishes in my bath tub FOR A MONTH. AC was going out, placed a claim, the guy showed up fairly quickly but then missed appointments and supposedly could not get the parts. when my AC finally did go out i had to have it fixed myself. I called my AC guy and he got it fixed within the next two days and told me the parts were easy to find. CHoice home warranty would not reimburse me the 1800 dollars i had to pay to get it fixed. This company is a scam. DO NOT USE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.
So far this year I had 3 service calls. The first 2 were minor and Choice could not find a contractor to do either one. I had to fix one problem myself and pay a contractor out of my pocket for another. The third problem was the straw that broke the camels back. I filed the claim and they sent a technician out. They collected my service fee and submitted the claim to Choice. Choice rejected the claim. I filed an appeal and it remains rejected. I even payed extra for an add on for this specific coverage. Still denied. Please do your research on this company. I was duped. ********* company.
They refused to pay for replacement of my air conditioner. They hung up on the repairman when he was trying to explain what was wrong and why it should be covered. He called them because this was the second time they had blatantly refused to cover a home system that really should have been covered.
I have had choice home insurance for years and suddenly this week during one of the coldest days my AC went out. I put in a claim and someone came to my home at 5:PM yesterday. After walking in my house with his dirty shoes, he disconnected some wires from the air handler inside and said there’s a problem with the unit outside and that he would contact my warranty company for approval then I would get an email response telling me when someone would come and fix the problem. In less than 24 hours I received an email from Choice Home warranty saying “there was a power surge that caused the problem with my AC unit and the thermostat and my claim is denied”. I called them and asked how did they determine that there was a power surge at my house that caused the issue and they were not able to answer my question. It’s painfully obvious that, all they do is take people money and find an excuse to not pay the claim. This company is very dishonest and to top it off, the person on the phone were very rude and nasty, naturally, I cancelled my account with them. Anyone who read this review need to be careful with this company.
Choice Home Warranty is terrible and THE WORST warranty companies in fixing broken items when a service call is placed. My microwave broke and I placed a service call on December 26, 2024 and a Technician came over to evaluate the issue and ordered a broken part through Choice Home, but the part was denied and Choice Home Warranty decided to offer me Lowes gift card to replace the microwave but the price offered was much less than the cost of the microwave in Lowes. I replied to the email declining to the offer and to discuss the case with a Manager. Nothing has been done until today, January 11, 2025.. I already paid $75 copayment to the Tech who came over to evaluate the microwave. Even if the cost of the microwave is given, who is going to pay for the Installation ?? I am at loss now. I don't encourage or recommend any of the customers to signup or join ********************** to fix their issues. ONE OF THE WORST WARRANTY COMPANIES EVER.
I filed a claim for plumbing and paid the service call fee. Which Choice stated that claim was approved. Choice then told me that i would have to pay an additional $250. which they said for uncovered parts. I'm still trying to figure out what were the uncovered parts, because the cabinets and sink were removed so the plumber walked in & cut about 3" of a small pipe(not PVC) a very small pipe then added a new small section the same size he cut out. Took maybe 20 minutes. If i had known they were gonna rip me off i could've hired my own plumber for about half the price of what Choice charged.Or i could've done it myself after knowing what i know now. I want at least have of the total refunded to me. Word of caution is this company are not truthful and loves to take their customers money. I've had this company for many years and if they refuse to right their wrong i will be canceling immediately!!! One star is too high.
This is the worse warranty company I have ever deal with it! They pick the technicians for you and wait forever for them to come in. On top of that you have to pay $ 85 for them to look at it. Good luck for them to return to finish the work if the warranty approves which takes forever too. I had an electrician issue on my bathroom and took them a long time to take care it. I even motioned the choice home warranty that the electrician you guys sent; never returned my call or text to schedule to the job. Even though i said that they still scheduled the same guy which did not returned from not coming months and months ago. This blower my mind! The problem I dad on my bathroom was resolved finally after 8 months later! Can you believe that??The worse part that, you on the Merce to get things done! Because I cannot choice the electrician company so the jobs can be done is a short period of time. Now I am waiting for my dish machine to take care of it. It had been 3 weeks they schedule some company to come to my house to look at it. I went to look on the site and see the claim and say that they scheduled a technical to come in. I already called 3 times letting they know that no one has showed up or call at all. It has been 3 weeks waiting on this ...This is soooo frustrating.The only this they can say- My apologies!
This company is one of the worst so called home warranty companies out there! They'll take your money every month and maybe pay for a small ticket item or two to reel you in. If you ever have anything close to a big ticket item they will deny it for sure. They do not care if you cancel on them because they will have already scammed you out of months and months of payments so they will say good riddance. STAY AWAY!
