Joel saved my life he mud in the trenches swallowed sound, but Joel always managed to carve out a strange little pocket of calm. Before the war, he’d been my math tutor—the kind of patient soul who could turn a knot of numbers into something almost beautiful. Out here, though, he taught different lessons.
It was dawn when the shelling began, the sky flickering like a faulty lightbulb. I remember gripping the cold edge of the trench, breath shallow, the world shrinking to fear and noise. When the blast hit, it threw me backward, and for a few seconds I couldn’t tell if I was alive.
Then I heard his voice.
“Stay with me,” Joel said, sliding into the crater beside me. His uniform was torn, his glasses cracked, but he looked at me the way he used to when I panicked over equations—steady, certain, unshaken.
I tried to stand, but pain shot through my leg. The shouts around us blurred. Joel didn’t waste a second. He pressed his hand on the wound, tearing fabric to bandage it. “It’s just variables,” he murmured. “We solve one at a time.”
It was absurd—comforting me with math while artillery shrieked overhead—but somehow it worked. His calm was a shield. When the fire paused, he lifted me onto his shoulder. I felt the strain in his muscles; he wasn’t a big man, never had been. But he moved with the same determination he had when he refused to let me give up on algebra.
Step by brutal step, he carried me through the smoke toward the medic’s post. Each explosion felt closer than the last. At one point I told him he should put me down, that I was slowing him. Joel only shook his head.
“I didn’t spend two years teaching you limits just to lose you to one,” he said, as if we were back in the classroom and I’d made a bad joke.
When we finally reached safety, my vision blurred. The medics pulled me away from him, but I kept my eyes on his face—mud-streaked, exhausted, yet somehow smiling.
“You’re going to be fine,” he whispered. “Just like always.”
I tried to thank him, but the words never made it out before the darkness took me.
Later, when I woke in a field hospital, they told me Joel had gone back to help more soldiers. That was who he was: a man who solved problems, whether they were on a chalkboard or in the heart of a battlefield

Ngl straight up amazing. They got plenty of resources and their tutors are actually fun and make sense. I much prefer over one on one because I can focus better in a group setting and like work with my peers. My grades straight up doubled in just a few months.

The amount of homework a very good amount making it not too overwhelming but enough so that the content that you are learning can be understood well, this tutor is by far the best I have been to and recommend it to anyone that needs tutorial for maths
