Center Island Contracting renovated my home from a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom to a 4 bedroom, 3 full bathroom. It was a massive undertaking but it was successfully completed. My house is unrecognizable from the original structure. My friends and family are always impressed by the outcome. My financing was done through a construction loan and the team was patient and provided whatever documents were required for me to secure the loan. Recently finished up a large renovation project where we added a new addition to our house which included a new primary bedroom and bathroom. Definitely satisfied with our choice of Center Island Contracting. From the initial quote all the way to the finishing of the project, everything was laid out in detail and done accordingly. Through out the entire process everyone at Center Island answered any questions we had and explained everything they did. Any issues that came up during the renovation was explained thoroughly with multiple options presented to us. I highly recommend them and will be using them for any future renovations.

Thank you Center Island Contracting for doing our kitchen and stairs project. Having little children we needed this project to be done on time. Center Island Contracting is a company that we trusted and we were not disappointed. We enjoy our house and the kitchen is absoluty the heart of this house.
We were told it would take about four weeks to gut renovate our existing bathroom, add a primary bath, and stain our floors. It took them five months. How did a four week job turn into a five month job?!? We had all of our selections picked out before the job started. We were ready to go. They kept making excuses (oh, no work the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas) okay, adding an extra two weeks to the timeline still doesn't explain how a "four week" job turned into a FIVE MONTH job!! (Hint: we'd watch on our doorbell camera, workers only showed up 1-2 days a week, so when you're only working on our house 1 day a week, of course it's going to take a lot longer). We moved out on 11/9/23 and moved back in the first week of March. Also, be careful with their "quote/proposal". A lot of our selections were left out of the proposal with the promise that we could add them in officially later on in the process, but surprise, adding our selections in later on = massive change orders. They were obviously keeping the proposal to the bare minimum to keep it as low as possible to get our business. The two stars I'm giving is because after five long months and doubling our budget, the final product was decently good, and we're happy with the final product.
Mr. Redfern, it saddens us greatly that you were disappointed with the process of your renovation. I wish it would have been able to be done faster as well. Many factors come into play during a remodel that can lengthen the time to completion. Please recall that there were some challenges with creating the new primary bathroom in the location desired. The plumbing work to construct a new bathroom in an area far removed from other plumbing is always a challenge, and I am happy we were able to solve this for you with minimal disruption. We are happy with the solutions we found to accommodate what your desired outcome was, while incorporating aesthetically pleasing finishes in the basement area, which needed to have a 3" waste line installed across your finished basement and tied into your waste line under the concrete slab. Also constructing 'dummy' walls to conceal these additional pipes in your finished basement and living room, added some work to your project. All told, this was not an ordinary 'direct replacement' of 2 bathrooms project.
And, while we are happy to accommodate the 12 requests for additional work, of which 9 were approved by you and increasing the scope of the work for the project, the governing rules and regulations of this industry require the homeowner to sign off on any items requested that were not part of the original scope of work. Regarding this project, items such as the flooring work, custom carpentry for your desk area, full floor-to-ceiling tile on all walls of both bathrooms, decorative niches, barn door installation, and removal and installation of the front entry door all increased the timeline for completion, with separate lead times for such materials. In short many times, it may seem that asking for additional work should just be figured into the next day's work schedule. However in order to be in compliance with the rules and regulations governing our industry, many factors are required to execute this additional work including, administrative requirements, submitting a change of scope, waiting for client approval of change of scope, ordering or materials, lead time on materials, and scheduling. This start-and-stop nature does effect our momentum significantly having much more of an impact on schedule than many would assume.
I agree though, that starting a project in November, and being in 'Punch List' until March seems longer than usual but, as was advised prior to starting, we do close down for Thanksgiving and two weeks during Christmas and New Year's (as you were advised). Additionally, your own personal vacation plans prohibited us from working for a week on one occasion.
I am happy you are pleased with the outcome. Our team works extremely hard to ensure the level of finish work exceeds our client's expectations. We love your bathrooms and hope you do too.

We recently completed a nearly full remodel of our new home with Center Island Contracting, and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. First time doing something that big to the house, don't very know what I get myself into, but lucky we found CIC.
Overall the whole process was smooth and they competed everything we wanted/asked for. There are some minor hiccup here there during the built but they handle it well and address any problem professionally. Have no communicate problem, always respond our calls and questions even during holiday. Huge thank to CIC.

After reaching out to different contractors to complete a dormer/first floor renovation to our home, we came across Center Island after seeing a project being done in a neighboring town. CIC did a beautiful job putting up our dormer. We were very happy with how quickly the dormer came about and how respectful the team was to our neighbors. They kept the neighboring properties on both sides of our home clean and undisturbed.
