Can't find a better place to stay while visiting the wineries. The location is perfect, the hosts are fantastic. And don't get me started on the amazing breakfast.
We used to stay at the chain hotels in Riverhead. Yes this is a bit more, but not by much. And the reasons stated above make it worth every penny.
We got married this past June and used Cedar House for our bridal party to stay and get ready at. We couldn't have picked a better spot for our wedding weekend. Dave is a wonderful, lively host who makes you feel so at home. He was so accommodating to our bridal party and wedding vendors. The rooms are very nice, plenty of space in common areas for everyone to hang out and socialize, including a stocked bar, a ton of games, and a backyard with a vineyard. He cooks a unique breakfast every morning and every time it was unbelievable. We've already booked a weekend to go back on our one-year anniversary. We absolutely loved Cedar House and can't wait to go back next year!
Beautiful gem of a B&B on the North Fork of Long Island. Dave and Donna really make you feel welcomed, and like part of the family. The Courtyard rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and have everything you need. The common areas are homey and cozy. We were so at home hanging out and playing pool. Enjoy morning coffee out in the sunny courtyard, like I did. Dave's breakfast was fresh, delicious, and creative. We will definitely stay there next time we find ourselves out that way! A real gem.
The Cedar House is a relaxed rustic respite. You can choose to spend the day, hang out, play pool, chess or other table games or yard games. You can sit outside and enjoy a drink, grill out or choose to spend the day exploring Long Island. Either way, you come "home" to all of it and wake up to a gourmet breakfast. Well be back many times in the coming years to visit our son and his family just three minutes away! Thank you Dave and Donna!
My husband and I, and my in laws, had a really lovely stay here for a long weekend in August. Dave and Donna are probably the best proprietors I’ve ever encountered across my time staying at a number of B&Bs. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and really well fed. Dave went above and beyond to accommodate for us, including some of our (not easy) dietary limitations, and honestly made some of the best breakfasts I’ve had (ever). And he helped arrange for us a wonderful beach day. Aside from the amazing hosts, the property is beautiful, comfortable, and spacious- with a number of spaces and options for people to hang out, outside of their rooms. The landscaping was stunning, the room was peaceful and had everything we needed/wanted, and Dave and Donna seemed to have thought of everything (or refined their craft down to precise science). We are so thankful for our time at this B&B and look forward to the opportunity to return in the future.

Our family had a wonderful weekend at Cedar House on Sound. Owners Dave and Donna immediately made us feel at home as they welcomed us to their beautiful B&B.
Within the space, and throughout the lawn, there were multiple gathering areas to spend time with friends, enjoy the fire pit, play pool, or lounge at the bar with outstanding wine selections.
Our bedroom was charming, spacious, and clean. The bed was remarkably comfortable and the bathroom had an excellent shower. No lack of hot water here!
Every morning started with the most delicious, creative breakfast. Flavorful dishes, great coffee, lovely dining area, just the perfect way to begin the day. Noting that two of our family members have dietary restrictions that were handled perfectly.
Concierge services were spot on. Every restaurant, bike service, winery, even the beach recommended by Dave and Donna were all outstanding. Our trip to Mattituck was enhanced by them sharing their knowledge of the area.
So impressed with Cedar House on Sound. Thank you, Dave and Donna, for your hospitality!
After 10 year of visiting 4 x a year,this wonderful B&B is warm, rustic, roomy and comfortable! There are many amenities and features to enjoy while staying at this beautiful farmhouse! Everything is beautiful.Well, appointed, clean your comfortable like your best friend's home out East! Cedar House on Sound is my home away from home when I am out in the North fork area! The owners Dave and Donna are incredibly informative, personable and lots of fun! Dave and Donna know the entire area and will provide you expert guidance so you can have a wonderful North fork experience! An absolute top shelf experience!
Cedar house was an awesome experience. It was very clean, great amenities and an amazing view. And breakfast......wow. The BEST! Dave made provisions for all dietary needs (Im a vegetarian) The host Dave, and his wife Donna were great! The grounds were simply awesome. Couldn't have picked a better place to spend our anniversary ❤️. We will be back!!

Everything about this place was amazing. The building is modern but with a rustic feel. It is spacious and well decorated. The room we stayed in was large and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the mini-golf game in the main room. A good selection of board games are available for people to play. And breakfast was delicious. David made us bacon and eggs, toast, and the best potato pancakes I've ever had. David and Donna were very friendly and we enjoyed morning conversation over coffee. I wish we had more time to explore the vineyard and surrounding grounds. Next time, there will be a next time, we will stay longer.

Wonderful experience!! Dave was a great host and went above and beyond to accommodate us! The location is very peaceful and is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and farms. Perfect 5 stars across the board! The location was perfect, the rooms were immaculate, and Dave was an incredible host! The location couldn't have been better, situated at the heart of wine country and right next to local farms, vineyards, and apple orchards. There are countless activities nearby, including wine tastings, farm animals, pumpkin and apple picking, and much more. We walked through the vineyard each morning with our coffee and watched the horses run around next door. The spacious common area provided a plethora of entertainment options for the whole family, such as a billiard table, games, televisions, and a comfortable relaxation area. Additionally, they had a 24-hour coffee station and served a delicious two-course breakfast every morning. I will be recommending Cedar House to all my friends and family. We will definitely be back!

We have been coming to the Cedar House every year (minus one year of COVID) since 2012. It is nothing short of amazing, hence why we keep coming back. Dave and Donna truly make you feel like part of the family and not just guests at an inn. The breakfasts, the stories that comes along with them, and their hospitality are first class.
