We purchased a house in Olney last year, and knew when we purchased it that the deck needed some issues addressed. We met with several contractors and received quotes for the work. After meeting with Mike and Sam from Cedarbrook, we knew from their professionalism and years in the industry that we wanted to hire them to do the work. They took the time to meet with us and answer all of our questions, to fully understand our vision for the new deck, and also to address our concerns about replacing the ledger board, as our basement is fully finished. Their solution resulted in an extremely sturdy frame for our new deck that wouldn't require any holes in the finished basement drywall. The entire process from demolition through final inspection was extremely easy for us as homeowners. We are so glad that we decided to go with Cedarbrook for our project. We could not be happier with the process, communication with the Cedarbrook team, and final results. We would definitely recommend Cedarbrook for anyone considering having a new deck built on their home.

Cedarbrook truly delivered! From a complete deck rebuild to fixing a shifting second-story porch, they handled everything with professionalism and expertise. Lenny was awesome and worked with my timeline while I was in the middle of refinancing to afford the repairs. He even helped with some appraisal repairs so the loan would go through. The finished deck looks great; they used quality materials, and most importantly, it is sturdy, safe, and we love it! I'm 100% choosing them for a future project I have planned. 💯🏡🛠️

Cedarbrooke gets five stars in every phase of our project. The sales and design team were very responsive and walked me through all of the material options. The design team captured perfectly what I wanted. This project was a tear down of a thirty five year old deck and a complete rebuild. They have a logistics person who communicated regularly with me the scheduling and status of the project. The crew that built the deck were true craftsmen. It became obvious to me after day one they all were very concerned about the detail and quality of their work.

My experience with Cedarbrook Outdoor Design/Build was exceptional. I had a ramp built leading from my front porch to the garage and driveway. The original builder I hired skipped town before I could get the ramp to pass the Frederick County building code inspection. For several weeks I looked for a reputable builder to correct the ramp’s deficiencies but there was no one interested in doing the work. I finally ran across Cedar Brook in the Best Pick Reports for Frederick County periodical. I described my situation to the Administrative Assistant, and she checked with the owner. Within two days the owner appeared at my home to look over the ramp and provide me with a detailed estimate of what it would take to pass inspection. Due to the small project size, the company was flexible enough to start the project within days for me to meet a critical deadline with the county. On site, the construction crew wasted no time getting to work and getting the project complete. The crew kept me informed of ongoing progress and any issues that arose, while company management updated me on upcoming inspections with the county. Within a week and a half all work was complete, and all inspections passed by county inspectors. The project came in on schedule, within budget, and fully compliant. What more could I ask for? From the owner to the construction team and office staff, all employees were professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable in their duties. I highly recommend Cedarbrook Outdoor Design/Build for your future construction needs.

My husband and I had plans for a deck renovation and a screened porch addition. After meeting with Mike, our plans grew into a 3-season room. As with any big project, it took some time to build, but we are thrilled with the outcome. We have an incredible addition to our property and to our lives. Mike has put together a great team. We dreaded having strangers on our property for such a long stretch of time, but overall, they were just great people and actually nice to have around. They use top notch products for a beautiful, quality finish. His team did everything for us from creating a gorgeous design to building an addition that fit so perfectly with our home that it looks like it was part of the original build. I had my consultation with Cedarbrook on July 2nd. The salesperson came over and he was friendly and polite. I was told that I would get my quote sometime in the middle of the next week. I was fine with that because the 4th of July was coming up. Today I get an email asking me to fill out a survey via email. Still have not received a quote. That's two weeks of nothing. Long story short, I'm going with another company that was able to get me my quote in 1 day after their consultation.

We had a great experience with Cedarbrook who came out and fixed some rotten stairs to our deck. The were timely in their estimate process as well as very timely in getting the repairs done. The stairs are solid and look awesome. Also during the repair process I asked for a change which the quickly accommodated for which they had to scramble staff to get and delivery extra supplies. Additionally, their home office staff were a pleasure to work with and went out of their way to be helpful in helping process some warranty claims for some of the decking boards that have become bleached out over time. I highly recommend Cedarbrook to anyone looking to design and build a deck!

Cedarbrook did a wonderful job cleaning up the mess left behind by an “underperforming” contractor. Starting from Chad’s initial visit until the job was finished, the crew arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up after. I even saw one crew member take off his shoes before going into our basement to use the bathroom. (We weren’t keen on having a port-a-potty in our yard, so we had no problem inviting them to use our facilities; the basement door was right by the deck.) And Cedarbrook’s price for redoing the wrongly-done parts and then completing our deck was very competitive. Altogether, a completely satisfactory experience—and we’re so relieved to finally have it done and done right!

Eccentric and unprofessional, weirdly obsessed with an essay questionnaire they send you. They outright refused to come and look at a straightforward replacement project until I filled out questions like, and I quote, "how do you want people to feel when they see your outdoor space", even when I called their office to simply talk to someone for an appointment. (No one picked up, I left a voice mail requesting they contact me to schedule an appointment, and later they emailed to say the questionnaire is too critical to their process and cannot be skipped.) I don't know if the whole thing is an evasive way of finding people susceptible to up-selling, or if the owner's kid wrote that questionnaire or what, but it seems to be a way higher priority than customer service.
