Ian and his team of highly capable technicians took fantastic care of my Subaru Forester. From the routine (brakes, battery and oil) to the unordinary (diagnosing and addressing a throttle body malfunction), they fixed it right the first time, and for a very affordable price. The shop was quite busy, but also very orderly. I received ample updates on the status of my repair, and a rundown of costs in parts/labor upon pickup. I will absolutely be taking my vehicles to Coastal Auto Repair moving forward!
Ian explains clearly and patiently and gives me a good price. The job is always well-done when I get back my car. And Kevin in the office is always friendly and courteous when I drop off or pick up the car.

Absolute stellar service, family owned, genuine, kind and accommodating. I brought my old Honda in without an appointment, they were able to accommodate me same day-they called with a diagnosis and price a few hours later and confirmed she'd be ready for pick up that same afternoon. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back for car help in the future!

Ian and his team are amazing. We were setting out to drive home from San Diego to northern CA when our alternator went out at 4:00 am. We had our vehicle towed to his shop and got checked in at 8:00. They were able to get us serviced, despite being very busy, at a great cost and in time for us to still be able to drive home that day. This would be our new shop if we lived down here. Thanks Ian!
Super honest about my check engine light, which ended up being nothing. Bill was zero. I’ve heard horror stories of other mechanics that would have done otherwise. These guys are trustworthy and that’s big in auto repair.
