Online classes are very good too, and they put multiple angles of the teacher’s guitar so you see his hands very well. But it makes you wanna go there in person for sure!

Participé en un curso de espanol hibrido en octubre. Todo estaba muy bien organizado.
Al inscribirme tuve algunos problemas , Pero la empleada que me atendió por teléfono fue muy amable y resolvió todo por mi.
Se me proprocionó material educativo en linea.
El Professor estaba muy motivado. Yo era la única participiante en linea, todos los demás estaban en Granada.
El Maestro siempre pensaba en me dejaba participar en cada ejercicios.
Lo único que no fue tan bonito fue que cada dia deseaba estar también en Granada, porque es uns ciudad tan hermosa.
Volveria a tomar el curso.
Lamentablemente, rara vez tengo una semana completa por las mañanas libre, ya que tengo que trabajar.
Seria genial si hubiera un curso continuo , una vez a la semana.

The school was very flexible so we were able to do a one hour flamenco class for beginners. Highly recommended. The teacher made it fun, while showing us some of the basics. Then go see a flamenco show and marvel at the talent.

J’ai eu la chance d’être initiée au Flamenco dans cette école. J’ai suivi le cours de danse initiation et le cours de compas. Pilar et José sont des professeurs formidables, ils respirent le flamenco jour et nuit. En parallèle, j’ai été hébergée dans une famille d’accueil chaleureuse avec qui j’ai partagé de beaux moments en famille, et je me sentais aussi indépendante de sortir le soir voir des tablaos.
Mon séjour n’a duré qu’une semaine, bien trop court mais je reviendrai!

Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas has been an inseparable part of my life since I began my flamenco journey in 2014. Over the past eleven years, it has shaped me into the artist and performer I am today. Even now, I continue to deepen my learning and flamenco education with the school — because, to me, it is much more than just a place of study.
For me, Carmen de las Cuevas is home away from home — my family outside of India. Through the highs and lows of life, both personal and artistic, returning to the school each year has given me immense mental, emotional, and physical strength.
What makes it truly special is that it’s not just about flamenco. It’s about the soul of the culture — its depth, its purity, and its ability to transform you from within. Carmen de las Cuevas nurtures not only dancers and artists, but better human beings.

Conocí la Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas hace unos 3-4 años y desde el primer día me sentí muy acogida. Es un lugar donde se respira cercanía, respeto y amor por el flamenco. Los profesores son muy atentos, enseñan sin presión, adaptándose al ritmo de cada persona y creando un ambiente donde realmente disfrutas aprendiendo. Me encanta cómo integran el cante, el baile, la guitarra, la improvisación y las jam sessions que se hacen cada dos semanas, que son una experiencia única para vivir el flamenco de una manera más completa.
Además, la escuela cuida todos los detalles: te mantienen informada de los eventos, te envían horarios actualizados, escuchan nuestras sugerencias y están siempre pendientes del bienestar de los alumnos. Para mí, es una escuela a la que tengo muchísimo cariño, porque más que una academia es una familia que enseña desde el amor, el respeto y la pasión por este arte.

My girlfriend and I studied Spanish for 2 weeks at Carmen de Las Cuevas in December, 2024. We had an unbelievable time and enjoyed every second of our classes. We stayed at the student accommodation and thoroughly enjoyed living in the heart of Albaicin. We can confidently say we walked away with a greater understanding of the Spanish language and even greater appreciation for the people at Carmen de Las Cuevas.

I don’t know why Carmen de las Cuevas doesn’t have more reviews! I spent a month studying here in September. It’s the most beautiful & welcoming school in Granada - I know because I visited the other three major ones personally and even tried a couple of lessons. Carmen de las Cuevas has the best, friendliest and most authentic vibe. Terraces where you can look out over the Alhambra. It’s a dream. Thank you especially to Natalia and Jesus, who helped me immensely with my Spanish. Truly dedicated and professional teachers (but most importantly, super fun). And Monica who helped with everything else! Wishing you all the best of luck. Highly recommend ⭐️

I had the most wonderful time studying at Carmen de las Cuevas! The teachers are great, the class sizes are small and you get lots of opportunity to practice. The material is specially tailored to the students needs and the classes are flexibly adjusted to everyone’s level. Also the location is absolutely gorgeous - you can’t beat that view of the Alhambra in your coffee break!

Walk up the narrow stairs that lead you to the magical views of the Alhambra, the Sierra Nevada, and the city of Granada. An amazing day just started, with relaxing sounds of birds chirping.
Then the welcoming doors of the classrooms open, where highly qualified and experienced teachers immerse you in the local culture through language, history, music and conversation. In small groups, and occasionally individually, our communication increases and our confidence improves, as we learn more Spanish; and our world view becomes enhanced through cultural awareness. The owners, teachers and support staff create an oasis of supportive learning and immersion in a magical city, and leave no (cobble)stone unturned to provide you with the best experience an accredited language school can offer you.
I arrived bright eyed and eager to learn, and left 6 months later, with an experience I will cherish forever! Thank you Carmen de Las Cuevas for the confidence to speak Spanish, a huge improvement in my ability to dance flamenco, a better understanding of compass and rhythm, of history and other cultures, and for the life-long friendships I built.
