Wendy brings the best in dogs and people. Charra was a true stray when a friend found her in the wilderness. As a 4-monthBelgian Malinoise (mixed), she was mission impossible for me. Some trainers and doggie care places refused to deal with her. But when Wendy came into our life three years ago, the stars aligned. Training Charra is easy, training her mama is more difficult. The dog learns on the second iteration; the woman needs to rehearse many times. Wendy trained both. It is both empowerment and fun. We continue to go to classes. We both know that at the end of the trip happiness awaits. We've been to 5 different gyms and played 5 K9 sports, but Fungility with Wendy is invariably the high point of our week. Thank you, Wendy!!! In addition, I'd like to bring a couple of analogies. Learning to be with the dog is like learning a second language that mixes verbal commands and nonlinguistic clues. For students to be successful, the instructor needs to use the rule called comprehensible input plus 1. It means the learning objective should be attainable and a bit challenging. The dog may be ready for more, but the human needs to practice movement, rhythm, and expression in order to build confidence in the dog. Wendy has tons of experience; she will give you what you can handle at that skill level and she will provide scaffold for the dog. The second analogy is literary. First I will compare dog training to "taming of the shrew." Legally you are the owner, so you will learn to dominate. But the dog is not an appliance for you convenience. In Hudson and Rex, the detective corrects everyone who calls his GSD a pet: he is my partner. That's the key. This process of bonding is not learning the mechanics. It's more like Aristotel describes ordering of the soul. I tend to anthropomorphize, but dogs are family. Wendy's humanity and commitment to dogs will help you to build a happy relationship by turning the unruly puppy into a civilized canine and you into a better human. My praise for CATS is not specific here: to list all things we have learned will require me to take a sabbatical and write a 600-page book.

I highly recommend Wendy for dog AND human training. She gives you the tools & instruction you need to train your dog but as owners we need to put in the work and if you do trust me, you will see results. We took the puppy classes & it was a great way to socialize our pup as well as learn the foundation for basic obedience commands. We thank her sooo much!!!

We highly recommend Wendy for dog (and people )training. We needed direction on the best way to train our 8 month old bernadoodle on the basics: Sit, Stay, Come, Load Up (into the car). We hired Wendy for three individual sessions at our home. Wendy is so knowledgeable and has a firm training plan in place. She was always on time, organized and came with yummy treats to result in a successful session.

We were desperate and had bitten off more than we could chew when we rescued a 1-year-old Bluetick Coonhound, Hank, from the shelter. He was sweet but completely untrained, and we quickly realized we were in over our heads. Thankfully, Wendy and her incredible team stepped in and worked miracles. They helped Hank learn his name and, more importantly, brought him to a place where we could actually work with him. The transformation was unbelievable — from a wild, unmanageable pup to a dog we could bond with and enjoy. We will forever be grateful for the patience, skill, and dedication they put into helping Hank (and us)! If you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start with your dog, trust Wendy and her team. They truly know what they're doing, and the results speak for themselves!

BEST TRAINER EVER!!!! Oh my gosh! We LOVE this training school!! Wendy comes to your house so that the owner can learn as well as the pet! We have 2 labradors. Wendy helped us to understand how much our dogs benefit from being trained properly. Not only are they more well behaved and obedient, but they enjoy ‘school’ and are so proud of themselves when they accomplish what we want. We are happier and for sure they are happier! The training is just the beginning. We take our dogs over to the facility for boarding as well. Wow. They absolutely LOVE going to ‘doggie camp’ when we travel! Our older lab is sometimes a little anxious or nervous but he adores Wendy. He knows her name and when we tell the dogs they are going to doggie camp to see Wendy, his ears perk up and he stars jumping around like crazy. This tells me he really loves being there and seems totally SECURE with her. Thus, the anxiety is much lower. My husband and I are so thankful that we have a place to take our dogs when we travel where they are safe and happy. Wendy was recommended to us by a friend. I totally recommend her to anyone as well. You will be glad you use her services for sure.

Wendy is simply amazing. I had little hope for our big dog (very anxious) who was attacking our small dog with increasing frequency. We got a shock collar for the big dog which Wendy pointed out was the exact opposite thing we should have done with a super nervous dog. With Wendy's recommendations and 3 one hour lessons the difference in our dog was NIGHT and DAY. She no longer attacks the little dog, follows our commands and likes nothing more than doing what is asked of her. I highly recommend Wendy. She is the Dallas version of the Dog Whisperer!!

Wendy is amazing!!! I called to see if any of her trainers, or herself had the certificates that my pet insurance accepts, unfortunately none of them do. BUT this did not stop sweet Wendy for helping me locate trainers that do accept my pet insurance!!! I really appreciate her effort and support! Totally above and beyond, especially since I was not going to be able to use her service. I REALLY wish my insurance covered the certificates they do have. If she put this much effort in for me, I can only imagine what she and her team will do to help you and your fur babies!!

This is the ONLY place I'll entrust my furkids. Canine Advanced Training Services & Wendy Dek at the helm are the very best. Pups come home happy and tired from all the fun. And training? Wendy is the ONLY trainer I know who makes it so interesting, interactive, and fun that the furkids don't know it's called "training. Wendy and her team have been an absolute blessing for us and our German Shepherd, Anat. Besides the fact that she is just about the most affordable trainer in DFW, she also works to provide results and their Stay & Train program has been awesome for us to be able to take care of things out of the house without having to leave Anat home in her kennel or roaming the house causing havoc for our cats haha. Anat has become that much more of an amazing dog and we're seeing so much progress and Wendy and her team have been the ones guiding us here. Absolutely, forever and always, we recommend this business!!!

I have had two dogs trained by Wendy Dek, Tala and Ranger. Turns out, the dogs were fine. It was my wife and I that required training on how to properly communicate and interact with our furry family. If you don't want to end up wearing a "shock or choke collar," don't bring them to her training sessions. This is a "positive reinforcement only" training and boarding facility. Wendy is an amazing trainer. Please understand, though, Dogs and people are a lot alike. Some have problems that may take a little more time to correct.

Ok so I haven't actually taken my pup for training yet. We start in about a week. But I have to say how amazing Keith has been so far! I wasn't even a client yet and he so kindly helped me with questions I had about starting the service dog process. I know this is not a service they specifically provide but he was so knowledgeable and helpful. I actually hired another company but decided after a few weeks that I'll go with Keith and see how training goes. I can only imagine how good it will be if its anything like his positive helping demeanor. You can tell he truly cares about dogs and is passionate about what he does. I'm looking forward to starting the journey there and highly recommend checking them out. I'll post more once my lil pup and I start our training and let you know how it goes but I can't imagine that it won't be a great experience.
