Cambridge Sashcraft did a difficult replacement job for two sash windows. Movement and settlement of the walls in an old house meant that one of the windows was severely out-of-square. The old windows did not close and one had a noticeable gap.
The new window needed a sloping top rail to the upper sash and a different slope to the bottom rail on the lower sash. Careful measurement and custom-building meant that Cambridge Sashcraft could supply sashes than close perfectly yet run smoothly on opening.
A great job and I am very pleased. I am planning the replacement of other old windows using Cambridge Sashcraft.
SashCraft provided an excellent service, with highly skilled and friendly staff. They replaced the sash windows in our Victorian house with double glazed units, which went back into the existing boxes after those had been restored. They also renovated our old front door, which now looks fabulous. The other companies I spoke to were all keen to replace the door and the window boxes, but I was much happier with SashCraft’s approach of keeping the originals where possible. There was quite a long wait between accepting the quote and the actual installation date, but I was warned about this up front, so it was not a problem. A very happy customer!

I am so very happy with the work carried out by Sashcraft. My old windows had condensation on them and mould would then appear. The wood was rotten in places. Now I have beautifully crafted new double-glazed sash windows, made exactly like the old ones to keep the authenticity of the period. But no more drafts. Everyone that worked on this was very pleasant. A great experience! Thanks.
Liam and the team did an exceptional job replacing ten sash windows in our Edwardian property, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the results. Preparation, fitting and decorating was all organised really well to suit our timescales, communication with us and with each other was great, and everyone who came into the house was a pleasure to work with. Sashcraft refurbished a bay of 3 windows and fitted new sashes. They finished the work in a reasonable time, with minimal disruption to us. The quality of the workmanship is excellent - the new windows slide smoothly and easily and the seals work well.
The windows were fitted 2 years ago - no problems have emerged and they are still as good as new.
I would recommend Sashcraft.

Upgrade to casement windows, including decoration to soffit and fascia, seamless gutter, scaffold and repairs to canopy roof. We are very satisfied with the work, which has transformed a rotting and unpaintable facade to one that looks really good. The team worked even during the appalling weather in early winter. There was a delay in completing the work after the Christmas break, which is why we have not given the full five stars.

Sashcraft has just installed double-glazed sashes for us in six upstairs windows, all in about two weeks—including redecoration inside and out. Liam is clearly a perfectionist. We are extremely satisfied with the result. We were also very pleased with the planning process, the care taken to avoid dust and disturbance, the little noise, the clearing up afterwards, and the friendliness and consideration of those doing the work.
