Hidden gem in the heart of Budapest!
This place is the former CEU university canteen, brilliantly turned into a proper street-side café-brunch spot, and it’s a lifesaver if you’re looking for a real breakfast in central Pest before 10 am.
Unlike most cafés that open late, Bazilika is already buzzing at 8 am and happily serves a proper Full English or Full American breakfast (with 3 eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, toast, the works) without forcing you into an overpriced hotel dining room.
Portions are genuinely generous, the coffee is excellent, service is fast, friendly, discreet and everyone speaks good English. Everything you need is there: spotless (co-ed) bathrooms, power sockets, and a relaxed vibe. I forgot to ask about WiFi... My bad...

Highly recommended if you want a no-nonsense, hearty breakfast in the city center. Already planning my next visit to try the lunch menu!

We ate here 3 times, everything was delish. Good service, the waiters check in to see if all is well. We appreciate this, as we don't get that in Portugal where we live now. Felt like the service you would get in the USA. Love the food selection....just wow! 10/10 will be back again.

Excellent food. Great variety on the menu. Hungarian Omlette recommended by server Adam was delicious. Friendly service and a good mix of locals and tourists. Highly recommended.

Ádám very funny, excellent English and great service. Please don’t get rid of him - he needs this job. The French toast was excellent, superb, outstanding. Didn’t get to have a Bailey’s hot chocolate but we’ll have one another time. The blueberry mulled wine was excellent too (hic). Thank you everyone
