This style of tour provides an an amazing personal insight into Belfast's history and current culture. There's the added benefit of covering several locations that are quite geographically separate.
Martin provided a very neutral explanation and appraisal of the historical and current political events. This was a very informative and refreshing approach to Belfast's complex population dynamics.
This is a great tour and is highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our Black Cab Tour, Danny our driver/guide was both very informative and funny. I booked this thinking it would be insightful for my teenage children (18yrs/20yrs) but I learnt a lot myself.

Insight into troubled times
We had an excellent tour with John, we were very interested to find out more about how it was to live through those troubled times from a personal perspective, and he explained and answered all of our questions. Having grown up through those times, we had a particular wish to know how it was for people in Belfast. He was flexible in taking us to where we wanted to go, and we found the trip thought provoking and affecting. It was the most meaningful and best thing we did on our trip to Belfast.

Excellent and Eye-opening experience
Martin was a fabulous guide that provided a balanced explanation of the troubles from both sides' point of view. The areas we visited reinforced the explanations, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, stop for photos and to sign the peace wall. The tour opened our eyes to the history and stories of the troubles, and how even after the peace treaty was signed, significant segregation and curfews remain. The lesson for the World is to not forget about Northern Ireland; the job is not complete and significant effort is required to bring both sides together for a harmonised peaceful future.
Belfast is a vibrant, bustling city worth visiting and this tour is highly recommended.

Or driver Ian was a very informative, impartial and friendly person. He was able to give us a feeling of both sides of The Troubles and we came away feeling a sense of understanding of the events. Being from Australia we were only exposed, via tv, of major instances of the violence Belfast residents lived through. It was difficult to imagine that this was an everyday occurrence. Ian was very good at making this very ‘real’. Thank you for the tour.

My wife and I did the 90 minute tour last week with Gordy. He was an exceptional guide! Seeing the murals, gates, walls, etc, and hearing about their origins and history from Gordy was really interesting, and also emotional. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Belfast.

Fantastic tour of Belfast with Chris!
My friend since second grade and I took part in a Belfast Black Taxi Tour on June 2, 2026. Our driver was Chris. We liked him immediately from the moment he picked us up in the lobby of our hotel, the Moxy. He had a really friendly, fun personality and was extremely knowledgeable about the north/south conflicts in Ireland and in fact has spent his whole life in Belfast. If I weren't married and he weren't married with four children, I was ready to take him home to the States with me! So was my friend! We were fighting over him! Ha ha! But seriously, he provided a superior value for our money and gave us lots of opportunities to stop and take pictures. He explained the deadly serious conflict starting in 1969 (happens to be both me and my friend's birth year!) that eventually resulted in the creation of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. He also took us to a beautiful Catholic church; even though neither me or my friend are Catholic, we both are Christian and we found it to be a very moving experience. He even dropped us off at the Titanic Museum so that we didn't have to walk or hail another cab for that purpose. I felt so bad when I accidentally shorted him because I wasn't looking at the denominations on the pound bills I had just gotten earlier that day. He had to catch up with us in the museum lobby to collect. I was so embarrassed. I hope I ended up giving him a tip! We would definitely use this service again and also we would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Belfast so they can get a great overview of the city and Northern Ireland as a whole.
