Exceptional but sad
Brian our guide was very knowledgeable and shared his personal story in an unbiased way. Extremely interesting and sad. History and tribalism cause issues all over the world . The van was very comfortable. A small suggestion might be the use of a microphone by the guide in the car .
Not To Be Missed !!
We took the tour on Monday Lasted 2 hours extremely good value for £70 for 2 people John was our cab driver who was incredibly knowledgeable and explained in detail what it was like to live in Belfast from 1969 until the good Friday agreement driving through the Falls Road and Shankill Road areas The only advise I would give is for clients to pay in cash as the credit machine wasnt working We had to go to an ATM and was charged €30 for €80 Un
Cab tour -Belfast
This tour as an eye opening experience. Danny our guide gave us an insight into what it was actually like growing up during the troubles. His knowledge of the history of this time was excellent and he gave an unbiased account of both sides on this conflict, delivered with wisdom and reflection which made it so thought provoking. To say we enjoyed it may be the wrong word to use. But if you visit Belfast you MUST have this on your itinerary. Once again a huge thank you to Danny.
Jake was did a great job and taught us a lot about life in Belfast.
A good, information experience. The tour guide was a person who grew up during the troubles with first hand experience. It was a van, not a black taxi. Apparently the black taxis are too old to keep running. I feel the website should be updated for this. Also they didnt accept card payment, cash only.
Driver and tour was great. We were expecting a black taxi as shown in the pics but our guide came in a van. This worked out well for us since my husband has back issues. But if you’re expecting and MUST have a black taxi, you may want to note that in your reservation. For us, it didn’t matter and thoroughly enjoyed our tour and learned so much.
Great time
best part of our trip to Ireland
Our Black Cab tour with Martin was the highlight of our trip. He was so knowledgable about Irish (and US!) history and was just a wonderful teacher and conversationalist. We knew a lot of the history of the Troubles going into the tour and still learned massive amounts. His personality and generosity was a perfect fit for our curious teens.
Eugene drove me around on a rainy afternoon in April. Every time in the future (if I ever come back to Belfast) I will do this tour with Eugene. It's rich with history, emotion, passion, heartbreak and victory all wrapped into 90 minutes of pure fascination. The wall, the stories, the gates, unionists and nationalists, Bobby Sands and Philomena. Do it. You won't be able to get all of what this city has to offer if you don't from the people who lived it, the troubles.
