Dec 2025 Catamaran Sailing
BVI Yacht Charters excellent to deal with. Had a problem on the run out and Captain Khadin Fahie turned around headed back to base. The mechanics ( about 4-5) were on it immediately! A slight delay but all was quickly fixed. Captain Khadin was the BEST and customized our sailing to all the best destinations. He was determined to locate our “ wedding spot” from 25 years ago! He is very professional, confident and always willing to help. A 5 star Captain for sure.
BVI Yacht Charters are Top-Notch!
Having chartered bare boats in the BVI since 1982, we found BVI Yacht Charters to be top notch! From the moment we stepped aboard our catamaran for the first night sleep over, the boat was welcoming and ready to go; clean and well-appointed with the AC on for a cool night at the dock. The entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Their very cheerful front office staff was quite helpful, the boat checkout very thorough, and a quick, efficient return was best we've experienced in a long time. And mid charter, when our dinghy engine quit, they met us at Marina Cay to deliver a replacement, all within 2 hours of reporting it. We highly recommend BVI Yacht Charters!
An amazing week long charter thanks to BVI Yacht Charters
This was the first time that my wife and I had chartered alone and it was an amazing experience. The staff at BVI Yacht Charters patiently answered every question we had and took the time to make sure we were comfortable with the boat. We chartered "Chilli" which is a 31 foot monohaul perfect for 2 people. If you're going to charter for the first time as a couple I would highly recommend this vessel! We are eager to go back with friends and try something bigger.
Best charter company in the British Virgin Islands
This was my third time chartering from BVI Yacht Charters over the past 18 months. They are truly the best charter company in all of the BVIs. This was told to me by a yacht charter broker who has access to booking at all yacht charter companies. They advised that most of the charter companies in the BVIs neglect their boats which never shows up in the photos.... The attention to detail and the expertise of the technical staff when something goes wrong is what you want when you charter a boat with a company. You want a company that actually cares... I will never go anywhere else. The office staff (both Kellys) and Tika (the best boat operator I've ever seen) make it feel like good friends when I arrive at the dock. Wonderful company and wonderful people! See you in 6 months!
Fantastic experience !
We had a fantastic experience with BVI Yacht Charters! From the first contact with the office, to see if the boat was available, to having us a taxi waiting, to take us back to the airport, the staff went above and beyond! The boat, SV Arun, was spotless and we had zero issues during our charter. Our boat briefer, Teka, was very thorough! We could not have had a better experience!
GOAT Captain & BVI Adventure
We knew this trip would be spectacular, but we were in no way prepared for the incredible friendship we’d make with our captain and new love every person on our boat would leave with for the BVI. If you’re thinking of booking the trip…do it!BVI Yacht Charters was perfect from start to finish. Arete was a dream to sail! We booked our trip in June for a late July departure, and Kelly made sure we had everything we needed to ensure it was an amazing adventure. We could not have had a better captain, and we are so grateful Khadin Fahie was available for a final trip of the season with our family. Y’all - no amount of words of thanks and gratitude would ever be enough for Kaiden. By the end of our week together we truly feel he is a part of our family. Khadin was flexible and engaging with every aspect of our charter, and he was fabulous with our kids (8 and 5) and got them involved in each days sail, dinghy adventures, and land explorations. If you’re seeking a captain for a trip look up Khadin Fahie!!Cheers to everyone we met along the way, and we are looking forward to our next trip with BVI Yacht Charters…and Khadin!
Brilliant BVI Family Vacation
Can't say enough good things about our BVI Charters experience. Highlights:- The Vienna (5 cabins, Fountaine Pajot Aura 51 ft) was the perfect catamaran for our group (2 couples and their 4 older teen daughters). The girls loved to tan on the tramps up front while we sailed, plenty of room in the back to eat meals and lounge in the shade, and the flybridge was perfect for happy hours with great views. Well appointed, had everything we needed. You can find a tour of the Vienna on YouTube, check it out!- Our captain Dennis was FABULOUS. He made sure we all had a great time, dealt with annoying other boaters who got super close to us, and truly added to the vibe with his fun personality and wit. We'd definitely request him if you can.- The BVI Charter staff (shoutout to Kelly) was super helpful in arranging things ahead of time and answering all my questions before arrival/upon checkin.A few tips for first timers:- Use the links on BVI Charter's site to order your groceries ahead. We showed up at the boat and all of our refrigerated items were put away, dry goods and drinks neatly stacked - saves time and while delivery costs a little extra, it's capped at $75 for anything over $750 at RiteWay so stock up and save your self time and hassle- We wish we would have had stickers made for our group, so many beach bars have fun spots where people have left stickers, signed college flags, etc. Next time!- Speaking of college flags - we bought little marine flags for our universities (Illinois, Iowa, UCLA & Vanderbilt) and ran them up the sails so that we could easily ID our boat from far away in the midst of all the other white boats. Other people use funky lights.- The FaceBook group that says you need tons and tons of cash? We didn't use NEAR as much cash as those posters recommend - most of the beach bars, restaurants, ferrys and grocery stores all accept credit cards. Definitely do need cash for taxis to/from the ferrys though.
Great adventures on Stargazer
A group of 9 friends chartered Stargazer, 47' sailing catamaran for 11 fabulous days in May 2025. The boat was beautiful and perfect for our group. This is our second time chartering with BVI Yacht Charters, and we will never go anywhere else. The staff is the very best and a joy to work with and boats are perfect!
Great boat, great captain (Khadin Fahie)
Best. Vacation. Ever. We rented a 42' sailing catamaran for one week in June 2025. The staff were very helpful in answering all our questions in the months leading up to our trip - it was our first time doing this type of trip, so we needed the guidance. The boat (Pleasant Arbour) was in great condition and was a comfy home for us. The company also connected us with a fantastic captain, Khadin Fahie. As a BVI local, he knows the water and the islands very well. He created a fantastic itinerary for us, and our family (me, spouse, 2 teens) had a perfect week.Photo courtesy of ChrisTU - ours is the boat with white sails
Great Destination, Great Business, Great Friends!
Just wanted to thank all the employees at BVI Yacht Charters for everything related to our charter. As always, great and helpful staff, boat was reliable, well kept and as always the destinations we travelled were awesome! Cheers until next time!
My dad and I had the boat MARA for our 9 day charter. The trip was a lifetime experience that I will carry with me forever with that being said, I was not impressed with BVI charters or the 2024 Jeanneau 35ft Sun Odyssey. The charter had failed to mention this is a bare bones boat. In the advertising and premonitional videos they promote thier boats with generators and air-conditioning. Our bout MARA had neither making it a hot and very humid 9 days in 90° 90%RH day and night. To add insult to injury when we first arrived on the boat. We found that the instrument panels didn't work, the bow thruster was inapproprible, and there wasn't even a way to charge your phone as no inverter was installed. Quite simply it was just a boat that was never meant to be a charter. Many of the BVI charter dock crew agreed it shouldn't be sold as a charter and told us that the nine year old sister ship NARA was equipped with air conditioning and a generator. When it rained you have to shut all the hatches making the inside of the boat an unbearable hotbox of humidity. Both my dad and I had terrible nights sleeping, the beds are just the stock cushions which offer little to no support. After nine days both our backs hurt, ive slept on more comfortable wood floors then the stock boat cushions. The battery bank on the boat consists of 2 house 1 start with only engine charging while cruising. At night we would run the small boat fans directly on our face to try to get a little relief but soon found the battery bank would go dead after 6 hours. When inspecting battery bank found it has 3 start batteries with a combined 50 amp hours of life so we would have to run the engine for about two hours every night so that we could get the fans to run and not drain the house bank. Though the Yanmar engine is efficient it doesn't start charging the batteries until you have it passed 1800 rpms. We had a good experience in the BVI but it wasn't because of the boat or the charter company. Since our phones didn't work in BVI, we also got a prepaid phone from the charter company. Only to find out it didn't work not even once. They took this off our bill but dismissed it as "sometimes they don't work and we're so busy don't have time to check all the equipment"
Day one of the charter was a little bit chaos. As not only did our instrument panel did not work,
they also pushed us to the last departure. As I watched other boats getting prepared to launch I noticed a common theme. Most of the boats had something wrong or broken with them. A 50 foot sun Odyssey directly across from us, the main sail would not unfurl from the mast. The unexperienced dock crew didn't know what to do. Tony, the lead of the docking crew asked me for help, I felt bad for Tony, You could see he was trying his best while our boat was having its electronics I went over and tried to help. The dock master stood there and watched but didn't offer advice or help.
We went and had dinner that first night over at the moorings and sadly got to see what a real charter company does for its customers and boats. We learned from our taxi driver that the owner of BVI charters has 4 charter companies and 12 other endeavors. It's pretty clear. He's not focused on his customers or the boats. If we were to come back for another charter it would be with the moorings or sunsail. BVI yacht chatters hires people instead of sailor's and dock hands. I give them 2 stars as generosity. My dad and I did have a amazing trip but again it had nothing to do with BVI yacht charters or the 1 year old boat that barely worked.
Run Away to the Islands (50 years later)
Dear Abbie, Kelly, Kelly, and Zevy: I have been given permission to share this photograph with BVI Yacht Charters in testimony of our “Most Excellent Adventure” while cruising on ”Indian Chief”, a very well maintained Jeanneau 419!Tom (our elected Captain) is at Starboard helm and Brian (our Swab) is on Port helm. We are three friends, who met when we were 14 or 15 years old. Now, 50 plus years later, we are all finally retired and chose BVI Yacht Charters to live out the promise of running away to the islands some day!Our very sincere thanks to you, Teka and the crew for making this such a pleasant and easy experience. My very best regards, Mark Outlawp.s. Just to prove we were careful and carefree here is a follow up:
BVI Yacht Charters for the WIN
We can't recommend BVI Yacht Charters enough! From start to finish the ladies were there, ensuring that everything about the trip would be smooth and seamless. We love sailing in the BVI, but this year was special as we celebrated my husband's 60th. They were wonderful about accommodating a sleep aboard the night before! The boat was beautiful and beautifully maintained by the great crew at BVI Yacht Charters! We will NEVER book with anyone else!
