4/5 as they don’t send you a courtesy video of the vehicle showing the health/issues they find like other places I’ve been to in Reading, which is surprising. There’s no reason not to provide that as standard in 2026. So you just have to go by their word when they tell you this that needs doing.
However they are clearly knowledgeable and provide a great fast service.
I usually do all my own bits but was about ready to throw in the towel with my 2016 320d. They fixed the idrive unit for a fraction of what I was quoted elsewhere as they actually understood the problem! Highly competent and could not recommend more.

Took my BMW 435i in after a misfire appeared and a strong smell of fuel, I took it to another garage and they were unable to diagnose the problem. The car was virtually not running when I called grosvenor and spoke to Ashley. I got the car towed to them and they found the issue and replaced all the fuel injectors at a good price. Saved me a lot of stress.
Popped in last month, for a drivetrain issue on my bmw and a new turbo. Ashley and the crew diagnosed the issue, and took the time to explain in depth what it was, how it happened and what we could do to remedy it. The Work was done within a day or 2, something that would’ve taken multiple days else where. Their communication was also top notch, considering all of this they had something like 40 cars in on one of these days, which just shows what level they’re on. Prices are a bit more expensive compared to a generic garage, but they religiously use OEM parts and follow official BMW guidelines for work being carried out. Still a decent amount cheaper than going to a main dealer liek synter or something, but definitely operates on a similar or higher level. Genuinely a gem of a garage, keep it up guys.
We've been taking our cars to Grosvenor for many years now because they're a super team who go out of their way to help, without the pushy sales tactics that you find at the main dealership service centres.
They really know their stuff and they'll talk to you in terms you can understand. Just a great bunch of people doing a brilliant job and I'd recommend them to anyone.
Lifesaver with excellent service
Have always relied on them for servicing my MINI, and they excelled again when my sunroof wouldn’t close at 4 p.m. on a Friday. Travelling with my young granddaughter, I was concerned about the weather and security over the weekend so I stopped by, and the team quickly closed the roof and gave helpful advice on repairs. So grateful for their prompt and friendly assistance!

So as a new BMW owner I wanted to find an independent garage that specialised , and could work in my car . I’d recently had new control arms and coilovers fitted , but there was a knock coming from the front at low speeds .
Took it to Grosvenor as local specialists with good reviews .i was there at 8. They open at 8.30 .
Staff inside could see me try the door but chose to singularly ignore me . Not come and take the keys so I could get to work .
Nope , make another coffee and have a chat with colleagues .
They diagnosed inner track rods and possible steering rack failure . They quoted me £958 for parts fitting alignment and vat .
They charged me £120 for the diagnosis .
I said no way as I was sure this was WAY over the top .
I bought good quality parts myself and had them fitted locally by a small garage . Total cost with alignment and parts ,£359 .
The knock was still there .
So now took it to an alignment specialist .. who had just fixed it for £60 .
So they get two starts only because they cleaned it . Other than that it was £120 car wash effectively for a miss diagnosis and a 300%over priced quote to fix something that actually didn’t need fixing .
The hardrace drop link adjusted had not been tightened at either end and the anti roll bar also was not rigged on the connection.
Car now drives perfect again.

Excellent BMW specialist, and I hear they also service other cars too now.
They did a great job on my car with a ZF 8 speed gearbox service, transfer case oil service and full software update across the head unit and all ECUs. When I picked up the car, they took the time to check I was happy and the car was super to drive home after the work.
The comms with them before and during my visit was perfect, they really know these cars and advised what was right to do now and what to leave. They even cleaned it before I picked it up, a properly good valet job.
Highly recommend, will trust them with my car again when I need to. You should give them a visit. Good work folks.
