Would not recommend their pool inspection service. Called to have someone come look at a pool after moving and turning on the pump for the first time because the pressure was not very good. They sent Jamie to my house who spent 10 minutes looking just to tell me I need to spend $3,000 for a new pump and filter. Then proceeds to tell me that it is a $100 charge for coming out today as he was walking away, not to mention Todd at the store did not mention any of this when I originally called and set up the appointment. I ended up going through an individual pool contractor to put in a new pump and filter for me. After installing, the pool pump is running the exact same as the original. Needless to say, a new pump and filter were not the answer. After calling to complain, I was told they would try and make it right over the phone but have not heard back. All in all, it appears that they are more worried about selling product and making money than actually diagnosing your problem. I am still having pressure issues, so if anyone has someone that can properly diagnose a pool please leave a comment!
Mr. Brunson, we apologize that you feel that there was some wrong doing here. When you called our store you requested service and wanted someone out quickly. We were able to get one of our service technicians out there in a timely manor. When our technician arrived and did some testing on the pump, it was determined the pump was not working even though power was getting to the pump. Also, when you originally called the store you told us that the pump system had only been down for a week or two. When in actuality the pump system had been down for over a year. Cost was not originally discussed due to not knowing the full extent of your pool systems issue. As with any company there is always a service fee for diagnostic/troubleshooting calls. The service fee our technician quoted you would have been removed from the labor to install the new equipment if you would have decided to go with us on your pool repair. As a locally owned business we pride ourselves in no hidden fees and fixing pool owners issues with the best, most efficient and user friendly solutions. We did, in fact, try to contact you several times with no answer and no call back. We would have been happy to send another technician at no charge to diagnose the situation and get a second opinion if you felt the original quote was wrong. However, we were not given that opportunity to do so. If you need someone to get out there and figure out your ongoing issue after getting another company that could not fix the issue, give us a call.
This is my go-to pool place. The staff is very generous with their knowledge and will walk you through exactly what you need to do to keep your pool in tip-top shape. Heck, they'll even carry heavy stuff to your car.
I will start this review off by saying, we were recommended blue wave by multiple people around our neighborhood and they said it was great. We went in with high expectations and unfortunately were very let down.
Communication and customer service through the whole process was awful. When we first called we payed for a pool liner and a “pool opening” for $100. They kept saying they would be at our place on a certain day and then it would change days. When the time came that they needed sand they told me their truck was broke and if I got the sand then they wouldn’t charge me for it? I waited a week and the truck was still “broke” so I hired someone else to bring sand to my backyard for them. That was the first hiccup in the process.
After the liner was finally installed, we asked them about the pool opening that we paid $100 for. They said “we don’t even offer that service, so I’m not sure why they sold it to you over the phone, you will have to come in person for a refund.” So we drove 40 minutes to the store and got our refund that we did not have to be there for! Could have easily been done over the phone.
That afternoon we went around the back of the pool and there was a ton of the wet old liner/plastic pieces that they had left there. Ended up having to take it all in huge trash bags and to the dump myself.
The liner itself was installed correctly, however the pipes to the filter were not. Ended up having to attach one of the filters myself because they forgot about that.
Could not believe how many recommendations we had for blue wave and the fact that they gave 4.6 stars on google.
We get all our pool supplies from Blue Wave Pool Supplies at 7543 US-64, and they’ve been our go-to spot for years during pool season. Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help with expert advice and water testing. Whether we need chemicals, parts, or just guidance, they always deliver top-notch service with a smile. Highly recommend this place to any pool owner looking for reliable products and exceptional customer service!
They used to be my go-to place for chemicals. Good products at good prices. That is where I SHOULD have left it. I had an extremely disappointing experience having them replace my liner and do some additional work on my pool. This caused me so much anxiety, it affected my sleep and well being. Practically the only time (multiple times) they called ME was when they were seeking payments. Paid initial down payment the middle of April. After multiple weeks of not having any work done and multiple excuses as to why, it became painfully obvious that I made a mistake trusting them with my business. Now, two months later (Middle of JUNE), I called informing them that I would be filing a report with the Department Of Consumer Protection. THEN, the owner got involved and only then did things start moving forward at an appropriate pace. Multiple days, including weekend days, I was promised someone would be over to deliver sand, or pool-crete, or whatever. NOBODY ever showed up. NOBODY ever called to tell me anything. So, I had to sit around, several weekend days wasted when I could have been doing other things if they would have JUST CALLED. I even told Tim one Friday as he was leaving promising something to be delivered the next day (Saturday) - "IF it is not going to be delivered, (because by then I saw the 'pattern') JUST CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW, so I am not wasting my day waiting"..."Yes, Sir, will do"! NOPE. Some of the excuses as to why no work was being done: The sand truck ran out of sand (TWICE); I was in the hospital all weekend; I dropped my phone in a pool (this one baffled me because YOU FIX POOLS FOR A LIVING you should have a Otterbox or something); something about a 'pump' but could never get clarification on this; and there is always their favorite stand-by 'weather'. Most of the days of no work were perfect weather, but was told that due to it being 'construction' that NO construction workers move at all if there is ANY rain even if the job site is 20-30 miles away as in my case. So, it was nice here, but because it may or may not have been raining there: no work. The sand trucks left tons of ruts in my yard. They tried to fill some, but still have ruts, the remaining pile of sand is still sitting next to my pool. They left the old liner pieces in piles for the entire two months so now I have multiple dead grass patches (should grow back) but am concerned about the large spots they used to mix pool crete that are covered not knowing if that will recover properly.
Had a great experience with Todd and his crew at Blue Wave. They were able to set me up with a great deal on new pool equipment and a Liner. Highly recommend them!
