I've now completed both DIY Nailing It and the DIY Next Steps courses and wouldn't hesitate to recommend both - the course content and delivery are both excellent. Caroline is very thorough and covers absolutely everything you need to consider - this includes safety, the type of environment you'll be working in , what tools to use. You even get the chance to try out different makes and weights e.g. of drill drivers and hammers. Lots of tips and techniques are given out including common pitfalls. The course length is perfect, allowing plenty of time for questions. This really is a first class offering.

I had such a fantastic experience on this DIY course. Caroline is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. She creates a relaxed environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and trying new skills. I had a two hour, very enjoyable, drilling course this morning with Caroline and one other learner. I learnt SO much and it has certainly given me confidence to attempt projects at home. Caroline is a fantastic teacher. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing her skills. I would imagine all her courses are equally interesting and valuable. I had the most wonderful time at my first bePractical DIY Workshop. Caroline is the most amazing teacher. She explains things thoroughly and is so encouraging. I learnt so many small things that demystify various DIY jobs. I never thought that hammers could come in more than one piece or that you could use a saw to draw a line at 90 degrees. Obvious when you are told! We had such fun learning to use a saw, an electric drill and a hammer properly and confidently. I cannot wait to go on my next course and learn some more. I have been telling all my friends about this amazing place.

I have done two courses here. The teaching is really clear, and unhurried. The tutors are calm and patient. Really good teaching which gives me knowledge and confidence using power tools.

Just do it!! I did the beginners “nailing it” and “next steps” course and LOVED it. I have spent years battling with power tools and being frustrated at having to wait for friends to help me with simple DIY jobs or struggling to find trades people to do small jobs.. well not anymore..Caroline is an amazing teacher, she unravels the mystery of DIY and my knowledge and confidence have grown beyond belief. I can’t believe I’m ready to build my own shelves! I will definitely be back to do more courses. Caroline is a fountain of knowledge and you will learn so much more than just the skills advertised on the course. Such a great way to spend a morning or afternoon and I can honestly say more fun and empowering than a day at a spa!!!

I did two half-day courses (Begginer and Next Steps) on Saturday and I would give Caroline 10 stars if I could!! Caroline's knowledge and passion for teaching is unparalleled, she's patient and kind, and she has an endless wealth of information on so many subjects. She graciously answered my never-ending questions and offered precious advice to all of us, even when they didn't regard the course directly. I've signed up for a follow up course and I am likely to complete them all. I gained so much confidence in using the tools as well as in the processes required in DYI.

This is a great way to get a lot more knowledge and confidence about fixing up, mending and decorating at home. Caroline has loads of experience to share and makes the teaching really engaging and relevant. I did the beginner half day course and will definitely be back to learn more skills.

The venue is brilliant - very well equipped with a great selection of tools. A real safe space to try things out without a fear of it going wrong. I attended the Nail It for beginners course and honestly it's one of the best things I've ever done. Caroline is amazing, knows her stuff of course, and is just so warm and welcoming and a great teacher. The classes are small which means they are more personal which I think is best when learning things like this. I felt so useless before going on this course and came out already feeling so much more confident and like I could tackle any DIY project (including curtain rails...*coughs*). Will definitely be signing up for the follow on course and hopefully other courses as well. Highly highly recommend this course to anyone, give it as a gift to your daughters, sisters, aunties etc. it'll be some of the best life skills a girl can learn! Thank you Caroline!!
