I’m also an attorney and I recently hired Mark for my personal appeal. Let me begin by saying that I have known Mark for many years and while we don’t socialize often I consider him a true friend. I don't know that anyone officially kept records, but between June 2024 and June 2026 Mark won nine cases on distinct issues in the CCA, which I've never heard of a defense lawyer doing in this or any other generation in the history of Texas appellate law.
So when I found myself in a bind I contacted Mark and asked him if it was worth getting involved in my case. Meaning if there was no realistic chance of winning, I would accept the verdict and move on. However Mark said he thought there were several issues and that he would advise me retaining him and proceeding. I did.
I initially wanted to wait until the ruling came down (which should be any day now), but I decided it would be more effective and beneficial for Mark to write the review now. You see when I asked Mark what our chances were after he did oral arguments, he told me to bet big on the first issue. I want this to show that if Mark Bennett tells you to bet big on something, you can take it to the bank. As such I will edit this post after the decision comes down to show everyone how just like the famous Babe Ruth photo of him, pointing to the outfield, indicating he is about to hit a home run right before he smacked one out of the park, Mark has also called his shot.
He has no weakness in his game when it comes to appeals. No wasted verbiage, no empty arguments, just clear and concise legal points. As such he’s also earned a reputation with the judges on the Court of Appeals. He carries more credibility as a result. I highly recommend him. To say that he’s the best appeals lawyer in the state is not hyperbole. Hire him. He charges a lot, but you get what you pay for. I look forward to reporting on our victory.

I would highly recommend Mark Bennett as your family/criminal legal representation. I initially chose a lawyer that did not make me feel confident in the outcome, and I decided to pivot and hire Mark. After having a bad fallout with a former romantic partner, I was met with court orders to appear for a protective order where I was then arrested without notice based on grossly false allegations. Now I was dealing with a protective order and criminal case that I would’ve never expected.
Mark’s demeanor and composure throughout the entire process made me feel better than I would’ve at the time.
