☹ Could have been better with some movie channels available but it was good to have the sports channels available.

My friends and I recently stayed at Bella Vista New Plymouth and were extremely disappointed with the attitude of the caretaker/manager on duty.
We arrived on motorcycles and, at check-in, were advised there was to be no noise after 10 pm, which we completely understood and agreed with. After checking in, getting freshened up, and grabbing a well-earned drink, we sat outside intending to relax as a group. We were abruptly told, in a very rude manner, that we were not allowed to move chairs to sit together at the front of the motel. Fair enough, we relocated to the rear garden.
Later that evening, after returning from dinner, we sat quietly outside our rooms. At 8:45 pm the same manager approached us again, this time telling us we weren’t allowed to sit together at all, calling it a “gathering” and claiming it breached hotel rules. When we pointed out that he had only mentioned no noise after 10pm, he simply said, “Time to move on or leave.”
Rather than escalate things, we moved inside one of the rooms to continue our evening, but the experience left a very sour taste. The caretaker was, without exaggeration, the rudest hotel representative I’ve ever encountered. Due to this treatment, we cancelled all remaining Bella Vista bookings for the rest of our three-week trip across both the North and South Islands.
A very disappointing stay, and certainly not motorcycle friendly.
Thank you for your feedback. We aim to ensure peaceful and quiet enjoyment for all our guests, and our 4.6/5 overall rating reflects that most visitors — including many motorcycle groups whom we host regularly — respect our house rules.
For context of future readers, on arrival your group gathered in the centre of the carpark rather than using the designated seating areas, which caused noise and disruption for other guests. Our team reminded you of the issues of excessive noise and group gatherings, particularly as you then moved directly outside other guest rooms. We do not believe these reminders were delivered in an unreasonable or officious manner, and we regret that our instructions for the benefit of all guests were not well received.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective, we're pleased you enjoyed the rooms and location of our New Plymouth motel accommodation. We wish you well for the rest of your travels.

☺ Great location - short walking distance to the Wind Wand / Coastal Walkway and town.
Rooms are small but very clean, tidy and comfortable.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay again.

My family and I stayed at Bella Vista for 3 nights recently and were very impressed with our very clean , comfortable,well appointed unit in a quiet , centrally located street. It was close to city attractions ,shops, the foreshore and restaurants.
The Manager, Jim was great, so friendly and hospitable. We would certainly stay here on future visits

Always stay here on our trips down to New Plymouth, staff are always helpful and very friendly. Motel is super clean with everything we need available, bed is very comfy to sleep on, plenty of clean linen delivered to you.
