I was part of a sports team that stayed at Bella Vista in Wellington. The owner/operators were really great at communicating leading up to our stay, they answered all my questions quickly. Check in of our big group was easy and seamless, and the rooms were all clean and tidy and had all we needed. Then during our stay the owners were so accomodating, going above and beyond to facilitate uniform washing and being so kind and friendly when someone was locked out at 10pm. Would highly recommend Bella Vista.
Handy motel, not too far from airport and CBD.
Friendly hosts, called in late one evening after Air NZ cancelled yet another flight and they had a room no problem.
Flight path to/from airport is close by, depending on wind, great place for plane spotting but they may bother you if you are a light sleeper. Better than the city sirens all night if you stay further in.
Great walking track by the coastline right over road, penguin nesting area also.

Very friendly staff both on phone and check in - room scrupulously clean - were only staying overnight before an early flight out next day - would happily stay here again - if staying longer would probably opt for a bigger room but our small studio (room 6 ) was fine for one night - despite being one main road was very quiet

What a wonderful surprise. Clean, located right off of a bus stop, wonderful location, quiet, attentive staff. As others have noted, Leo's is spectacular bakery and coffee shop right next door. Couldn't be happier.

Great accommodation and location. My husband and I spent a week in Wellington helping our granddaughter shift into a new flat.
We stayed in unit 10 it had everything we needed, and we would definitely stay again. There is an amazing place called Leo's bakery across the road which was a bonus.
