Can’t recommend enough . The place is peaceful and away from the hustle & noise of the city. Has amazing views , feels very natural and in tune with the nature . Cheyo does an amazing job sharing his Mayan culture with guest , and passion for the love and peace we can receive from nature. I was able to disconnect and reconnect my soul again. The breakfast every morning is amazing . I also highly recommend a tuj ceremony . I admire this place because they focus a large effort into helping substation the locals in the community , cleans up, women’s groups and working with the kids . They are passionate and kind . I felt safe . Although the location isn’t directly in town it’s VERY easy to get around and you don’t need a car. You can get a tuk tuk (motor taxi) or get a boat to any neighboring towns !

From the moment I arrived at Casa Awanima, I could feel the depth of authenticity in this place. Around Lake Atitlán there are many spots with beautiful views, but something about Awanima feels different — more rooted, more real. You can sense the care that’s gone into tending the land here. I loved walking around and being guided to the many herbs growing all around the home, making fresh tea from what’s right outside the door. Cheyo and Kenzie bring such a heartfelt presence to the space. It’s special to see a project with true Mayan stewardship and collaboration behind it. The meals were phenomenal, and having breakfast each morning while watching the sunrise from our loft bedroom felt like pure magic. Every time I needed anything, the team was quick to respond and so kind in their care. The Temezacal was another highlight - deeply rejuvenating and beautifully built. I also came here with a new romance - the space felt perfect for us to drop in :) Also, as a traveling Entrepreneur, the Wi-Fi worked consistently with zero issues for two weeks. Casa Awanima isn’t just beautiful; it’s authentic. It carries the spirit of the land and the people who tend it, and I’m so grateful for my time here.

From the moment I arrived at Casa Awanima, I could feel the depth of authenticity in this place. Around Lake Atitlán there are many spots with beautiful views, but something about Awanima feels different — more rooted, more real. You can sense the care that’s gone into tending the land here. I loved walking around and being guided to the many herbs growing all around the home, making fresh tea from what’s right outside the door.

Cheyo and Kenzie bring such a heartfelt presence to the space. It’s special to see a project with true Mayan stewardship and collaboration behind it. The meals were phenomenal, and having breakfast each morning while watching the sunrise from our loft bedroom felt like pure magic.

Every time I needed anything, the team was quick to respond and so kind in their care. The Temezacal was another highlight - deeply rejuvenating and beautifully built.

I also came here with a new romance - the space felt perfect for us to drop in :) Also, as a traveling Entrepreneur, the Wi-Fi worked consistently with zero issues for two weeks.

Casa Awanima isn’t just beautiful; it’s authentic. It carries the spirit of the land and the people who tend it, and I’m so grateful for my time here.

Nous sommes totalement tombés sous le charme de ce magnifique endroit qu'est Awänìmä. En plus d'être situé à Tsununa (un des villages les plus calme et préservé du surtourisme sans pour autant être enclavé), l'hôtel propose une ambiance et un accueil des plus remarquables. Le calme et le respect de chacun y règne en proposant un cadre de vie proche de la nature et un panel d'activités en cohérence avec ceci. Ainsi, on aura l'occasion de profiter du petit Sauna en glaise, d'un massage ou des cours de Yoga en fonction de nos envies. Et ceci c'est sans compter toutes les petites attentions du personnel qui mises bout à bout rendent le séjour exceptionnel. Nous ne pouvons que recommander un tel lieu et y repasserons sûrement.

Nos quedamos 2 noches y nos hubiera encantado quedarnos mucho más! La propiedad es lindisima. Tiene agua de la montaña, hierbas y árboles medicinales todos plantados por Cheyo y un Tuj (sauna ancestral) con opciones de ceremonias que recomendamos al 100%. La vista del lago es preciosa. La propiedad si queda bien arriba en la montaña entonces lleguen en tuktuk (Q15 por persona)

Thirdly, the staff, especially Cheyo, were present, active, supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the land, the area, and worked to make sure we had the most pleasant stay. I found Casa Awaníma when I needed it the most. Having spent 10 days previously ill in bed in another part of the island, I was in search of a location to start the deep regeneration my body, mind and soul needed very seriously. And I found this eco-retreat built with so much love for natural world there. Cheyo, the visionary builder and caretaker of the place welcomed me and immediately made me feel how special it was being there. The food cooked by the locals is incredible, the flowers were blooming, the place was calming my nervous system and allowing me to settle in connection with the natural cycle. The highlight was the ceremonial Tuj (Temazcal) facilitated by Cheyo. That's my place around the Atitlán Lake.
